SJP Talks About Taking On Demi Moore’s “Daunting” Lovelace Role

Sarah Jessica Parker snapped up Demi Moore‘s role in Lovelace pretty soon after Moore had to withdrawal from the film following her alleged drug-related emergency. Looking back…it might have been a little too quick for SJP. “I didn’t know at the time that they were down to their last few days of shooting on the whole movie,” Parker told Entertainment Tonight at last night’s amfAR Gala in New York. “I read the script and didn’t have enough time to think about it properly. [If I had,] I probably would have said no, because it was a daunting experience for lots of obvious and less obvious reasons.” Such as? Come on, Sarah. You cannot leave us hanging like this!

If you recall, there were only two whirlwind days between Demi’s decision to drop out of filming and Sarah landing the part, during which the rumor mill also volleyed names like Mary Louise Parker and Chloe Sevigny as possible replacement Gloria Steinems. Based on the photos snapped on-set of Parker’s famous feminist, she at least looks the part. If we’re basing our assessment solely on her wig (and we are), we’d say SJP’s professional reputation has nothing to worry about.

Lindsay Lohan’s Bangs, Solo Heidi Klum Kick Off Fashion Week With amFAR Gala

It was difficult for us to tear our eyes away from the wonder that is Lindsay Lohan’s new set of bangs and bizarre hairy wrists at last night’s amFAR Gala. But it was an event to kick off New York Fashion Week, so there was plenty more to see. Heidi Klum attending solo for instance, in a dazzling gold-and-black dress. Miss Universe Leila Lopes shining in red. Kellan Lutz looking like he’s modeling in a prom tuxedo catalog. Jennifer Hudson and Cindy Crawford palling around and both showing off some impressive cleavage. Terry Richardson appearing to keep his hands to himself. VH1 News was on the red carpet, so stay tuned to hear what Theophilus London had to say about Heidi Klum and more!

Sarah Jessica Parker Works It As Gloria Steinem On The Lovelace Set

That was quick. Didn’t we just publish that story about Sarah Jessica Parker winning Demi Moore’s Lovelace role from Mary Louise Parker? Demi had to give up her part playing Gloria Steinem because of her “exhaustion” and health troubles. The deed was done rather quickly — it’s been less than a week since the story broke — and SJP has already swanned into her replacement role with ease. That’s how H’town works. These photographs emerged of Parker at the Lovelace set and she looks … authentic? She does fit into the vibe of the ’70s quite nicely, we think. Do you?

Sarah Jessica Parker Beats Out Mary Louise Parker For Demi’s Lovelace Role

Demi Moore‘s role of Gloria Steinem in Lovelace has become a hot commodity since the Bobby actress had to drop out this week, but if you’re wondering which celeb will be cast as her replacement, get ready to wade through a few dozen suggestions. Last night Chloe Sevigny was rumored for the role after joining the cast last minute. This morning, the rumors were focused on Weeds‘ star Mary Louise Parker while this evening? None other than Sarah Jessica Parker. All of them are amazing actress; all of them would look amazing in high-waisted bell bottoms. Since those are our only criteria, how could we possibly decide?

Oh wait, we guess the decision has been made for us. EW reports that it was Lovelace filmmakers Rob Eptein and Jeffrey Friedman themselves who confirmed SJP’s hire, which seems like a solid selection. So there is no chance the movie features a time-traveling Gloria Steinem who accidentally meets multiple version herself after slipping through a wormhole? Please? We said please!

Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Robsten Top Another List, Because Why Not?

The folks at Forbes certainly know what they’re doing. Usually, we turn to them for the big lists, like the Celebrity 100, the World’s Most Powerful Women or the Hip-Hop Cash Kings. But those take a lot of work, and sometimes, they just need something fast and easy (we’re just assuming here, ’cause you know, we’d never be so gratuitous about our lists). So, they do things like this week’s Hollywood’s Top-Earning On-Screen Couples, which is topped by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, followed by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

We’re very happy to see the Harry Potter and Twilight stars at the top of the list, natch. But it does feel a bit like the editors sat down and said, “What kind of list can we do that will feature the stars of Harry Potter and Twilight, and maybe also Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers?” They admit themselves that the whole thing is based on numbers from Box Office Mojo (the total earnings from movies with the stars as a couple from the last five years).

Still, here we are, looking at the list. So they’ve hooked us again! We’ll give you the full list below, but also we want to come up with some kind of challenge for the Forbes editors, just to make sure they stay on top of their game. Maybe the next feature should be something like America’s Highest-Grossing Puppet Shows or Top-Earning Subway Mariachi Groups. That‘ll take a little shoe leather.

The 2011 UNICEF Snowflake Ball Has A Full Red Carpet

What a charming name for a ball. The 2011 UNICEF Snowflake Ball took place at Cipriani’s, New York, and Sarah Jessica Parker really took it upon herself to dress accordingly, looking like a very convincing snowflake in a white silk, cut-work and feather trimmed Louis Vuitton dress — part of the same collection Kate Moss closed earlier this year. Looking at lot more slinky were Uma Thurman and Angie Harmon, who nailed it in a skintight green dress and a shimmery halter gown, respectively.

Other celebrities included couples like Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle (who also looked great in a red gown slit high up the thigh) and Mark Ruffalo with his delightfully named wife, Sunrise. Vera Farmiga, Zoe Kravitz and Natasha Bedingfield were also spotted, the latter two wearing color-blocked black and white. To check it all out, click through our gallery below.

Celebrities Pay Tribute To Pedro Almodovar At MOMA

The Museum of Modern Art’s Fourth Annual Film benefit, A Tribute to Pedro Almodovar, had celebrities lined up to pay homage to the Spanish director. A few of the stars had been to the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards the previous night, making this second round of dress-up all the more impressive. Two nights out and we’re half dead under our charcoal face masks, but not these ladies. Blake Lively, Chloe Moretz, Anna Wintour, Drew Barrymore, Emma Stone and Sarah Jessica Parker all wore Chanel, while Miranda Kerr was rocking a bizarre, patterned Peter Pilotto dress. Drew also brought her latest boyfriend, Will Kopelman. The evening included video messages to Almodovar from friends Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, as well as montage of highlights from his films.

We know you want to see what everyone wore, so go ahead and check out our gallery.

Did I Do That? From Sitcom Kids To Grown-Up Stars

Why can’t the world let Jaleel White be great? The man formerly known as Urkel complained to People today that he feels limited by his sitcom past. “I’m very versatile, but somehow I didn’t earn the tag of being called a versatile actor,” the former Family Matters star says. “I’m still chasing that one Vanity Fair tag that says, ‘This guy’s a versatile actor.’ I accept it. It’s fine. But for me, it’s like what do I have to do to get that [acknowledgment]?”

Luckily for White, those different and exciting roles could still be just around the corner! Your career doesn’t have to end when those highwaters get too tight to wear! Check out our gallery of sitcom kids, from Leo DiCaprio to Raven-Symone to Sarah Jessica Parker, who successfully made the transition from adorable youngsters to adult film and television stars. And hey…don’t lose the faith, Jaleel.

Full New Year’s Eve Trailer Looks Like A Bon Jovi-Slapping Good Time

Like we’re going to pretend we didn’t enjoy seeing Katherine Heigl slap Jon Bon Jovi in the full New Year’s Eve trailer. You know we’re not made of stone. While the movie is still overstuffed with celebrities from Ashton Kutcher to Zac Efron, and Michelle Pfeiffer‘s wig still looks like it crawled out of a drainage ditch behind the mop factory, it’s hard not to like a film that’s basically 90 minutes of witty banter leading up to a bunch of A-lister smooching and falling in love. Count us in! Oh, except for the part when Abigail Breslin shows off her brasserie to her horrified mother Sarah Jessica Parker for no apparent reason. What was that about? Girl child is 15!
