Ho boy. We are not research scientists, but we are going to go ahead and question the science behind this particular theory. During his Piers Morgan interview, Ryan O’Neal blamed Farrah Fawcett’s cancer on his tumultuous family, specifically (and by specifically, we mean by name) daughter Tatum O’Neal. “What bothers me the most is that there was turmoil during my love affair with Farrah. A lot of it caused by my family, by my kids. All of them, but particularly Tatum,” O’Neal told a seemingly stunned Morgan. “I just think, if she had never met us, would she be alive today? Nobody knows what causes cancer. She didn’t smoke. She didn’t drink. She exercised every day and believed in good health. And then we came along.” So basically he’s narrowed the causes of cancer down to cigarettes, drinking, lack of exercise or actress Tatum O’Neal. How would you even test something like that? The woman can only stand next to a cage of lab rats for so long.
The odd part about this (besides, you know, all of it) is the idea that troubled Tatum is especially to blame, when both brother Redmond O’Neal as well as Ryan himself have been repeatedly busted for drug use. “Maybe it’s not true, but it’s possible.” O’Neal admits when Morgan pushes him on his hypothesis, before adding “Sorry Tatum, but you probably know, too.” We look forward to seeing O’Neal’s upcoming findings in the peer-reviewed journal, “Ryan O’Neal’s Journal Of Soul-Crushing Assumptions.”
