It’s common knowledge that no one can really enjoy a film while suffering from extreme neck frigidness, which is why we’re glad to see the celebs flocking to the Sundance Film Festival are taking pains to keep their jugulars warm. Check out our bundled-up gallery below to see everyone from from Seth Rogen to Elizabeth Olsen, Laura Prepon to Common get cozy from the chin down in Utah. Because you can’t rely on those swag bags for everything, especially hypothermia prevention.
Look, we’re all feeling pretty bummed about Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s divorce, but it’d be a shame to let all those Spandex dresses and extremely tight man vests languish in the closet for too long. It’s only been a few days, but we’re going to go ahead and gently push these baby birds out of their break-up Snuggies and back into the dating world. Besides Rihanna and Florence Welch, of course, here are our recommendations for the very special men and women that can distract Katy and Russell from their respective heartaches. Or at least show them a good time. And, at the end of the day, isn’t that basically the same thing?
If Katy is looking for something casual and fun after the pain of a divorce, there are few men as casual and fun as Ashton Kutcher. Maybe a little too casual and fun, so clearly this is for rebounding only. If Katy’s into something a little more long term, might we suggest Jonah Hill? He’s looking real good this year, she probably already knows him from Russell’s work in Get Him To The Greek and we are 98% he’s not a former drug and sex addict. If Perry is hoping for a collabo both into and outside the bedroom, she and Drake could definitely make beautiful music together. Beautiful boning music.
As for Brand’s future lady friend, the first answer is obvious: Helen Mirren. Russell and the Dame have been publicly flirting forever. Yes, we know Helen is technically married, but she also has an Oscar for Best Actress. We’re pretty sure that gives her a freebie. It’s in the Academy’s bylaws. If Helen’s husband isn’t down with that, might we suggest Rashida Jones? Not only is the woman stunning, she’s also sardonic and smart as a whip, two qualities that a dry wit like Brand might be into. If Russell’s looking for ladies who skew more Perry-esque, Zooey Deschanel is single, ready-to-mingle, and basically looks like Katy in a Peter Pan collar. If it’s the catsuits and vocal gymnastics Russell likes, Jessie J has star power similar to his ex. Plus the woman even looks good in an air cast! What do you think? Who would you set Katy and Russell up with, if you were a less horrible version of Millionaire MatchmakerPatti Stanger?
Zooey Deschanel and Rashida Jones (two of the lovliest, funniest ladies on the big and small screens) apparently caused quite a stir on-set when they shot their kissing scene in Our Idiot Brother, out August 26th. Rashida told VH1 News, “The boys were so giggly on set…they loved it!” while Zooey said on the red carpet of the LA premiere, “You get a girl on girl kiss and boys just get real excited!”
It sounds like their lip lock was a good one then, eh? Rashida even joked about doing her research for the on-camera smooch. “I kissed so many girls just so I made sure I knew how to do it right.” We’re sure practice made perfect! Peep her interview below the jump.
As temperatures rise and blockbusters flood the movie theaters, prepare to swim in celebs who became household names via the boob tube. While some have since established themselves as movie stars, we grew to love them on a weekly basis from our couches.
A brunette version of Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively will play leading lady opposite Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern. Mad Men‘s January Jones will trade her 60s housewife getup for a shimmery push-up bra for her role as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class. Ever the uptight but lovable nerd, The Office‘s Ed Helms will reprise his role in The Wolfpack in The Hangover: Part II. This summer’s token fluffy comedy Monte Carlo features plenty of TV’s hottest stars such as Glee‘s Cory Monteith, GG‘s Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy, and Wizards of Waverly Place‘s Selena Gomez.
Before the heat and humidity makes us all flee to the movie theaters for relief, check out what TV stars to keep an eye out for in this summer’s biggest flicks.

While Lisa Vanderpump certainly gave her dog a lovely suit to wear at GLAAD Media Awards this weekend, Giggy wasn’t strong enough to face the cameras on his own—falling flat on said face soon after the Real Housewives star set him on the carpet…and he couldn’t get up! Thankfully, Lisa scooped up her living accoutrement and managed to hoist him on stage to pose with Tori Spelling and her pooch.
Also attending the soiree were stars like Amy Poehler, Chaz Bono, Meat Loaf, Marlee Matlin, Dolly Parton, Kirsten Dunst and ultimate FAB icon Chris Colfer, picking up yet another trophy for being awesome. See photos of the celebs (and poor Giggy!) in the gallery below.
When we see ridiculously attractive celebs driving their Ferraris to some hot Hollywood party with their glamourous spouse by their side, it hurts. To make ourselves feel better, we assume there must be a trade off for being so gorgeous and successful, and that these A-listers must be spectacularly stupid. Our wounded egos desperately try to console us by saying, “Yeah well, they may be better looking, more popular, and have more money than you, but….at least you probably did better on your SATs! And you got that junior year calculus grade up to a C+, so Matt Damon can suck it!”
But we’ve got some really bad news. Many stars not only have the beauty and the brawn, but million-dollar brains to match. Check out the gallery below to see which smart stars made our Hollywood Honor Roll! And be sure to see Waiting for Superman, the new documentary about the cracks in our education system and the super-smart kids trying to climb out of them.
Well here’s a pairing certain to get Funny Or Die dorks excited. The Hollywood Reporter says that Zooey Deschanel and Rashida Joneswill play a couple in the upcoming movie My Idiot Brother, concerning a slobby Paul Rudd‘s attempts to avoid living at his uptight mom’s by staying with his ambitious sisters instead (Elizabeth Banks and Emily Mortimer will join Deschanel as his siblings). While Deschanel and Jones have never worked together before, both are popular hipster daughters of behind-the-scenes legends (cinematographer Caleb Deschanel and producer Quincy Jones), both have musical careers and both have spent plenty of time playing girlfriends in bro comedies (Jones even played Rudd’s in I Love You, Man).
While the coupling of Deschanel and Jones should help Brother pass the Bechdel Test, it’s kind of disappointing their scenes will just be background for a more gender-centric You, Me & Dupree. Banks, Deschanel, Jones, Mortimer have all done time in the comedy trenches (and we’re guessing the same will go for whoever plays the mom)—will this movie let them show their skills or just have them gawking at Rudd’s goofiness? We should find out sometime next year.
Throw a rock in LA this week and you’ll hit a pre-Oscar party, but Glamour‘s event at the Louis Vuitton store in Beverly Hills yesterday stuck out thanks to the number of stylish young starlets that attended. Those sipping and socializing among the accessories included Amanda Seyfried, Zoe Saldana, Anna Kendrick, Emma Roberts, Rashida Jones and Serena Williams. See what they wore in the gallery below.
John Krasinski is living the perfect Hollywood life. He is so beloved as Jim on “The Office” that people are more interested in his on-screen romance with Pam (played by Jenna Fischer) than his real life romance — not an easy thing to accomplish under the watchful eye of the media. That explains how he was able to keep his relationship with The Devil Wears Prada star Emily Blunt so under the radar. The couple have been dating since November 2008 and have now confirmed that they recently got engaged. (We actually weren’t even aware that they were an item — good work, you stealthy kids!). We’re sure a few nerdy girls will shed a tear for the loss of one of Must-See TV’s cutest bachelors, that’s for sure.
Blunt had previously dated singer Michael Bublé and Krasinski had been linked to former co-star Rashida Jones. No details of a wedding have been released. [Source: People; Photo: Getty Images]
