Entertainment Weekly’s Vampire Diaries Covers Are Supernaturally Hot

Is there anything sexier than a vampire? How about two sexy shirtless vampire brothers…who both happen to be in love with you…a woman who is also exceedingly sexy? The limit is zero…the sexiness limit does not exist! Entertainment Weekly’s three new Vampire Diaries covers feature all the best combination of stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and those notches under Ian Somerhalder’s abs. Is there a name for those? Can someone make up a spooky word for them if there isn’t?

The multiple covers also seem to solve the central dilemma of the show: just get a bigger bed, you guys! And extremely nice sheets! Check out all three covers in all their paranormal glory, as well as even more exclusive pics from the cover shoot, at EW.com. Because if Damon, Elena and Stefan can’t resolve their eerie love triangle when they’re at their most nude, then when can they? Then when can they?

People’s Choice Awards Cutest Moments

The People have spoken. They apparently like Supernatural more than The Vampire Diaries, but we’ll forgive them for that, because they made some other good choices that wound up giving us a pretty cute People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night. Like any awards show, there was singing, dancing and overly scripted jokes. Also there were kisses and giggles and sweet thank yous. We thought we’d highlight a few of our faves:

10. We saw Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence bonding backstage with co-star Liam Hemsworth’s gf Miley Cyrus. Good thing they get along nicely!

9. Emma Stone, daring to be different in her awesome green tux jacket, managed to make a clichéd message sound sweet: ” You have to stay true to yourself and don’t be afraid even if people say what you do isn’t cool.”

8. Paul Wesley called Ian Somerhalder “Smolderholder” as he opened the envelope for the Favorite Comedy Movie award.

7. Lea Michele pointed out her cousin in the audience WHO LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE LEA MICHELE.

6. Ian Somerhalder was sitting next to Nina Dobrev when she won Favorite TV Drama Actress, but he tweeted her anyway: Congratulations Nina!!! You won!!!! People DO like you;) You rock babe, truly.”

5. Chloe Moretz realized she’s too young to really say “when I was a kid” and then she ended her speech like she was on the phone with all of us, “All right, bye.” Bye, Chloe, see you soon!

Will Delena Happen? And Other Vampire Diaries Season Three Teasers

So, we’re going to go out on a limb here, based on the fact that Damon Salvatore won our Favorite Vampire of 2011 poll by a landslide (sorry, Twilighters!) and Nina Dobrev came in a very close second place to Taylor Swift in our Best-Dressed Celebrity of 2011 contest, that you guys are pretty excited about the return of The Vampire Diaries tonight. Yeah, we’re counting down the minutes, too. And to pass the time, we thought we’d gather all the spoilers and teasers we’ve read about the second half of season three:

» Executive producer Julie Plec promised TVLine that “there will be a payoff” for all the Damon/Elena tension that’s been torturing us for years. “What it is and when it happens, may be surprising to people.” And Plec went on to tell TVGuide.com: “Now that Stefan is out of the picture, in her mind there’s a way to free herself up and allow that tension to come out and play.” But in the minus column for the elder Salvatore bro, he’ll be “acting out, day-drinking, pouting and being generally curmudgeonly.”

» Then again, E! Online’s Kristin says there will be an “epic kiss” coming soon, though she didn’t reveal whose lips were involved.

Our 25 Favorite Vampires Of 2011

We’re not shy about our vampire obsession around here. And even as angels and werewolves and dystopian battlefields take over the screens and bookshelves, it doesn’t look like sexy bloodsuckers are going anywhere. Sure, they experience a bit of boom and bust, but a look back at the last 100 years in pop culture proves their undying staying power. In 2011, our blood was stirred by a nice crop of undead seducers, from Eric and Bill on True Blood to Damon and Stefan on The Vampire Diaries to the entire morally upstanding Cullen family. There were others who leapt from the pages of books whose racy covers we sometimes had to keep hidden — Bloodlines, the spinoff of YA series Vampire Academy, made its debut; Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series is still going strong, and in City of Fallen Angels, the latest from Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series, vampire Simon went from best friend to hot commodity. There were even a couple of “nonfiction” vamps who made it onto our 2011 list.

Before you check out our 25 faves, watch who such celebrity vampire experts as True Blood’s Joe Manganiello and Twilight’s Elizabeth Reaser, and non-experts like Andrew W.K., Robin Thicke and Questlove would nominate for Vampire of the Year. Because we just declared that a thing.

Now, take a look at our top 25, vote on your faves and let us know in the comments if we missed any of your favorites.

The 11 Best Behind-The-Scenes Moments At The 2011 Scream Awards

I started my day at the Spike Scream Awards on a shuttle bus, which carried press past Wisteria Lane (so cool!) and the Jaws set all the way to the outdoor amphitheater which housed the show. I ended the night washing down a slider with some red wine after a bear hug from Cuba Gooding Jr. Wanna know what happened in between? Read on for my account of the 11 Best Behind-the-Scene Moments at the Spike Scream Awards. I was there. For eight hours. And I screamed a lot…in a fangirl-y sorta way.

11. Everyone freaking out over Drive star Ron Perlman hanging out backstage. Nino, guys. Effing NINO. Press and stars alike stared in awe at the celebrated character actor, and I’m going to assume we were all thinking the same thing: “OMG the guy who plays Nino is here. He is so badass. Yep, I’m going to listen to the Drive soundtrack for the 202o13013560th time on my drive home tonight.”

10. Teen Wolf-ers Tyler Posey and Colton Haynes surprising their co-star (and candidate for prettiest redhead in the world) Holland Roden on the red carpet. She screamed – which was more than appropriate considering the night.

9. Lena Headley and Sean Bean from Game of Thrones sharing smokes and beers with Dr. Who star Matt Smith. Beautiful Brits stick together backstage.

8. Joe Manganiello — AKA Alcide on True Blood — asking me if he could swear on camera after he won Breakout Performance. Obviously I said yes. “It’s f*ckin’ awesome!” was his reply. He is an absolute delight.

New Shoot Makes Us Drool Over The Vampire Diaries Dudes More Than Usual

If only we could wake up to something like this every day. As we were sleepily going through posts this morning, new promo shots of Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley popped up at us and all we can say is — who needs espresso? How ridiculously good do they look? (Pause to fangirl). The pictures also served to remind us that Season 3 of the show airs in just two weeks on The CW! As you can tell, we’re fans!

What we’re looking forward to is seeing Wesley’s character Stefan Salvatore go off on a nutty-killer spree because he’s normally the good one! He revealed, “In the first couple of episodes, there’s still a lot of one-foot-in, one-foot-out of this situation he’s in. Something’s gonna happen that drastically changes that, and then at that point, he commits and doesn’t look back. Then he can really enjoy it … To play a character who has absolutely no conscience, that literally felt like taking a load off my shoulders.” Now all we have to do is wait!

FAMOUS BROS

New York got a hot beef injection last night thanks to Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Fun Fearless Male Awards of 2010 at the Mandarin Orange Hotel. Among those proving their fearlessness by embracing the phrase “Fun Fearless Male” were Gerard Butler (always game for a goofy photo op), Twilight studs Kellan Lutz and Paul Wesley, True Blood vampire Stephen Moyer, Gossip Girl vampire Ed Westwick, TV detectives Chris O’Donnell and Nathan Fillion, Terrell Owens, Dr. Oz and Ne-Yo—the funnest, most fearless male of all. Soak up the stud sauce in the gallery below.
