20 Adorable Couples Being Adorable To Get You In The Valentine’s Mood

Happy Valentine’s Day! Or not, depending on how you feel about the holiday. And listen, we know there are a lot of singletons out there who are not so pleased about how much we in the media focus on this holiday. But we can’t help it, OK? We cover divorces and breakdowns and deaths and fights all the time, and it’s really nice to have a day that’s all about the important things in life. (No, not the unveiling of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, though that’s nice too.) We just really want to escape from it all and look at Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez nuzzling each other. We would like to soak in the happiness that is Adam Lambert and Sauli Koskinen’s love, bask in Jay-Z and Beyonce’s adorable glory, shiver with delight at the perpetual hotness of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, and marvel at the lasting power of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. We are hoping some of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s world-saving affection will rub off on us. And we’re even going to allow for some admiration of Tom Brady and Gisele Bunchen, football loyalties aside.

But here’s some good news for you black-hearted V-day haters: The last time we did a best couples gallery, back in December, one of those couples announced their divorce a few days later. Oh, no! What have we done?!?

2011 brought along with it a host of new fashion trends, from long-sleeved gowns to daytime sequins to the ever-unfortunate mullet dress. The biggest trend of all, however, seems to have been stars looking like a volcanically hot mess. Yes, like a single strand of pearls or a little black dress, celebrities sashaying down the red carpet in cringe-inducing couture never gets old. After all, these are people who all have stylists. Who they pay real money. To make them look good. We know.

How Does Ryan Gosling’s Teen Sitcom Compare To Other Embarrassing Celeb Roles?

There’s a lot of potentially humiliating stuff going on in Ryan Gosling‘s Breaker High, the Canadian sitcom that helped launch the Drive actor’s career in 1997, back when he was just a hunky teen. Between Ryan’s faux-Brooklyn accent, the insanely flamboyant hockey coach, and the fact that the show revolved around a high school located on a cruise ship, it’d be understandable if Ryan wanted to toss all copies of this show into the Atlantic and never look back. But really, is it any worse than any other early embarrassing celeb role? From Jack Black to Jennifer Aniston to Renee Zellweger, plenty of A-listers have had to take some Z-list roles when they were starting out. If you had to chose one from our humiliating list (and you do!), which cringe-worthy part do you think is the most regrettable?

Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman: How To Get Red Very Right And Very Wrong

Two fabulous actresses, two separate events in locations across the globe from each other. And yet, we found a lesson that is very important, if you’re willing to learn, grasshopper. It’s the art of wearing red, which can be a tricky little minx because you can go from red hot to fizzled spark in one step.

Take Nicole Kidman, for example. She’s looking so pleased to be at the 2011 BMI Country Awards held yesterday in Nashville. From the look on her face, you can tell she thinks she’s nailed this Stella McCartney dress. Nicole thought that throwing in some white detailing on what would’ve been a passable crimson dress was the way to go. WRONG. This dress is like an optical illusion. We literally got cross-eyed staring at it and it also brought back longgone memories of geometry lessons with our old teacher Mr.Sapru (who used to terrify us.) Nicole, please. Do red. Plain red. None of this jazzy Christmas wrapping paper stuff.

On the right, we have Angeline Jolie, at the premiere of Moneyball in Japan. We feel like the woman at the back who got photobombed — jaws dropped and in awe. Angie knows how to pull out the stops when she feels like it. And taking this red, strappy L’Wren Scott dress and her tomato lips into consideration, she felt like it. Angie haterz can kvetch all they want, but we all know that this woman could stop an asteroid in its tracks if she wanted to (and if the good folk of NASA had thought of it.)

So there you have it folks. The next time you think red, pick a side.

Prince William And Duchess Kate Work It At The BAFTAs In L.A

They came, they saw and they totally didn’t conk. Prince William and Duchess Kate were in L.A for the weekend and amidst their whirl of activities they attended the BAFTA ‘Brits to Watch’ Awards at the Belasco Theatre. Did the Duchess shut it down? Yes, she did. Kate wore an Alexander McQueen gown and Jimmy Choo sandals and clutch and bowled everyone over. Including the celebrities! The royal couple were seen chatting animatedly with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner! And each and everyone of them looked completely star struck. Also hilariously, we spotted Nigel Lythgoe lurking behind Prince William as he chatted with Nicole Kidman. 2011 Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Has More Misses Than Hits

Is it just us, or was the 2011 Billboard Music Awards ~~red~~ white carpet dull? The press room and the stage (obviously) had way more action! As far as we’re concerned, the carpet was all about Nicki Minaj‘s pink hair versus Rihanna‘s red! We love both, but we’re handing this one to Ri-Ri who was super streamlined in a spotless white suit. Gorgeous! We’re not going to get into Nicki’s powder blue whatchamaycallit of an outfit, or Ke$ha‘s, for that matter. We can’t make sense of either!

We’d also like to point out how our little sweetheart Selena Gomez—who shared a kiss with BF Justin Bieber later—seems to slipping in more and more skin every time we see her. Little by little, so people don’t freak out! Crafty… but we’re on to you, Gomez! She and Nicole Kidman had a particularly sweet red carpet photo op that you can see in our gallery below. Nas, Ne-Yo and Mary J. Blige in all her leonine glory all added a touch of glamor, but just not enough. Do you agree with us? Sound off in the comments section below!

The Top 25 Fictional Stoners In Cinematic History

While the negative effects of smoking marijuana have been portrayed on film for over seventy years, the current age of stoner-friendly cinema can largely be credited to one Judd Apatow. As the unofficial ringleader of the Frat Pack, he wrote, directed and produced a veritable bumper crop of pro-Mary Jane films over the last half-dozen years or so. Films like Knocked Up, Pineapple Express and Superbad worked very hard to smash the stigma that the Reagan administration attached to the cannabis plant, and their tremendous success at the box office unquestionably played a role (albeit, likely, a minor one) in the “Legalize It” movement that is slowly gaining steam in both Red and Blue states.

Although Apatow had nothing to do with this weekend’s release of the latest entrant in the stoner-friendly canon, the medieval fantasy Your Highness (get it?), we here at TheFABLife figured now is as good a time as any to countdown our all-time, Top 25 fictional stoners in cinematic history. From the trailblazing likes of Cheech Marin to the nonsense-spewing Jay of Clerks fame, from the highly paranoid/confessional behavior of Nicole Kidman’s character in Eyes Wide Shut to the perpetually buzzed Wooderson in Dazed and Confused, we hope you enjoy this look at cinema’s most baked characters, maaaaaan!

Orange-Skinned Keith Urban Gunning For Gig As Male Snooki

Holy SPF 4. Keith Urban rolled into the Academy of Country Music Awards last night looking more like Snooki than, well, Snooki herself. Wife Nicole Kidman‘s alabaster skin only highlighted his serious tanning bed addiction. Between the straightened hair, the orange skin, the open shirt and the tribal tatt, Keith seems ready to fist pump the night away. No offense Nic – we’re sure he’s sweet and all, but Keith is seriously damaging your A-List cred like whoa.

Other stars spotted on the ACMAs red carpet last night: Taylor Swift looking typically Taylorish, Carrie Underwood in eggplant, that kinda hot Ryan Gosling-ish dude from Lady Antebellum, Julianne Hough and a prom-ready Miranda Lambert. Pics below.

Flashback! Young Nicole Kidman Loved Dirt Bikes, Curly Bangs In BMX Bandits

What would the world be like if the Nicole Kidman we know today was the same as Nicole Kidman that existed as a teen in 1983? For starters, more A-listers would probably be tooling around Hollywood on their totally sweet dirt bikes. In celebration of the Blu-ray release of Nicole Kidman’s first movie BMX Bandits, here’s an interview of a 16-year-old Kidman on Young Talent Time. We cannot get over how different little Aussie Nicole looks. Yeah, sure Kidman has already admitted to using Botox, but we didn’t know she also had major cosmetic surgery on her hair. If Nicole had keep that Muppet do, sheep dog look-a-likes would be roaming the red carpets today. Pauly Shore might never have faded from the public eye. Our entire society would be upside down!

In case you ever doubted that Nicole could be a part of a crime-fighting biker gang who battles karate-chopping bad guys, EW interviewed BMX director Brian Trenchard-Smith, who raved about the young star. “They didn’t want me to cast her because she was taller than the two boys in the film,” Trenchard- Smith gushed. “I said, ‘Are you crazy!’ She had legs up to her armpits and a big shock of red hair and a gorgeous face. The camera loved her. She was ‘IT’ as far as I was concerned. She has screen chemistry and not every actor has that.” At least Nicole never lost that star power. Now if only the rest of the us were still as bike-safety-conscious as teenage Nicole was, the world would be a far better place.

Oscar Fashion Face-Off: Nicole Kidman Vs. Gwyneth Paltrow

While the 2011 Oscars red carpet was ruled by graceful, grand gowns, a few ladies did try to break out of the mold. Gwyneth Paltrow‘s golden Calvin Klein number stood out both in shape and style (though Gwyneth wore the Michael Kors gown from her Country Strong number at the afterparty) , while Nicole Kidman‘s Christian Dior looked like she’d gone MacGyver on a tablecloth, with unflattering fabric bunching up on the hips.
