Style Seen: Nick Jonas Saves The Owls

We’ve been kinda busy here in FABlifeland, what with Breaking Dawn and all. But not as busy as Nick Jonas, that’s certain. (In between prepping for his six months on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business… he just picked up an award for his diabetes advocacy at the Disability Rights Legal Center gala in L.A. last night.) So we have to apologize for taking a minute to notice how much we liked the relaxed-but-slightly-blingy look he sported when he stopped by http://www.vh1.com/shows/big_morning_buzz_live/series.jhtml last week. Now we’ll make up for lost time and take a closer look.

Nick Jonas, 18, Trades Purity Ring In For Aussie Singer Delta Goodrem, 26

Nick Jonas is 18 years old now…and it looks like he knows it. The singer was spotted leaving a movie theater in Hollywood this weekend, with 26-year-old Australian singer Delta Goodrem on his left hand…instead of his purity ring. “I feel so blessed,” Nick tweeted after the spotting. “Had a great weekend.” Goodrem and Jonas have been working together in the studio of late, with Goodrem tweeting a pic of the two with JoBro musician Greg Garbowsky in March. Could these two be mixing business with pleasure?

We’d honestly be a little surprised if this was as naughty as it sounds—not only is Delta eight years older than Nick, she just broke off a three-year engagement with Brian McFadden of the UK group Westlife. As popular with the ladies as Nick has been—and as toned as he’s getting these days—it’s hard to believe a veteran singer in her mid-20′s would rebound with a teenager who, until recently, wore a purity ring (Nick’s protective parents wouldn’t probably be so hot about it, either). But nothing’s wrong with a little publicity, right?

Star-Studded Motown Tribute Hits The White House

For the past two years, the Obama White House has held an “In Performance” concert series celebrating diverse musical styles. Last night, a star-studded group of performers descended upon Washington D.C. to attend a Motown tribute in honor of Black History Month. Among the stars attending and performing at the event were Nick Jonas, Jordin Sparks, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Glee cast members Mark Salling and Amber Riley, and Motown legend Smokey Robinson. The event was taped and will be broadcast on PBS this Tuesday, but for an advance glimpse of the performers, check out our gallery of the musicians as they arrived, prepared and mingled with fans before the show.

Nick Jonas Dating Two Les Miz Co-Stars At Once?

Must remember Jonas Brothers’ purity ring, must remember Jonas Brothers’ purity ring. That’s probably playing in a loop in Nick Jonas‘s head. The youngest JoBro is honing his acting chops as Marius in the musical Les Miserables in London. Hit musical is a hit with ladies, it seems, because Lil Nicky’s totally playing the field.

The youngest Jonas has been on dates with both the female leads, and has all the other women cast members swooning over him too. Lucie Jones, who plays Cosette, and Samantha Barks, who is Eponine, have both been on the receiving end of Nick’s charms. A source busted him saying, “Nick is getting a reputation as a heart-breaker. He’s been out on dates with both Samantha and Lucie and they both seem quite smitten. Nick’s just having fun – but he’s causing some tension between the girls. There’s been a lot of jokes backstage because art is imitating life. In the musical Eponine fancies Marius. But he ends up with Cosette.”

Now, now Nick. Play nice with the ladies!

Style Wars: Lily Allen Vs. Zoe Saldana At The Glamour Awards

Sometimes people just look better in black. Two of our favorite looks at Glamour‘s Women Of The Year Awards in London (which mostly consisted of British models for Nick Jonas to gawk at) came from Lily Allen, rocking massive sheer sleeves with a long black dress, and Zoe Saldana, who wore a short black mini with an embroidered lace top. Check out the gallery below (featuring Anna Kendrick, Nicole Richie and Kelly Rowland) and let us know who worked it better in our TheFABLife poll.

Nick Jonas And Selena Gomez Split Again!

Selena Gomez & Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez: it was over before it even started again. Though never officially “on again” after their 2008 dalliance, the Disney duo were spotted spending time together recently, raising more than a few eyebrows. Unfortunately, according to multiple tabloids, that time is over. “They were an item, but they are no longer together,” a source told People. Think it has something to do with Nick’s brother Joe dating Selena’s frienemy Demi Lovato? Let’s talk about it at recess!

Though E! reports Gomez has stopped following Nick on Twitter, People says the split was amicable. “It’s evident to everyone that they will always have a super strong connection.” Maybe it just hurts too much to read missives like “life is good” and “good morning!” right now, knowing the pain that lurks behind his Nick’s total banality. Check out the gallery for photos of Selena’s stiff upper lip in Paris this week.

Nick Jonas, On-Set Sportsman

Nick Jonas

We don’t know why the Jonas Brothers‘ new TV show will be feature Nick and Kevin playing with metal detectors and finding something shiny under a fat guy—wa-hey!—when the cute stuff kids crave was happening behind the cameras. We are referring, of course, to Nick tossing a football and baseball with crew between takes. Who needs a slapstick plot? Just show the guys running, jumping and tackling each other in slo-mo. That’s all the pre-teens want anyway! Watch their athletic scampering and treasure hunting in the gallery below.

Kimmel: “Nick Jonas Says Bob Dylan Can’t Sing”

Nick Jonas stuck his foot in a big pile of classic rock poopie last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live when he joked about Lil’ Wayne taking Bob Dylan‘s part in the recent re-recording of “We Are The World.” “[Wayne] said, ‘I can’t sing,’” Lil’ Nicky told the talk show host. “And I’m like, ‘Exactly. Perfect.’” “Nick Jonas says Bob Dylan can’t sing,” responded an amused Jimmy Kimmel, picturing the headlines guaranteed to appear the following day (Jonas also said Vince Vaughn can’t sing, but we’ll let that one slide).

Dylan’s voice is definitely an acquired taste, and we should remember that the younget JoBro was four when a grizzled Bob won Best Album at the Grammys for Time Out Of Mind—remember Soy Bomb? This kid probably doesn’t. But we’re still surprised a music nerd like Nick, who worships Elvis Costello and hired Prince‘s old band to back his solo album, would be so flip about one of rock’s biggest icons. While plenty of teenyboppers probably think Dylan’s a gross old man, Dylan’s flock wouldn’t be quick to call Jonas’ yelping music to their ears—and it’s adults this aspiring artist should be trying to impress. It probably won’t be long before Nick starts kissing the old guy’s shoe, but we wouldn’t expect a number together at next year’s Grammys either way.

Nick Jonas Ditches His Brothers, Goes Solo

nick-jonas

Nick Jonas might be the youngest of the Jonas Brothers, but he’s the first one to attempt a solo career without his brothers backing him up. What’s more impressive is the fact that Jonas’ new band, called Nick Jonas & The Administration, is made up of three members of Prince‘s band, The New Power Generation, as well as the JoBros’ producer, John Fields. Is he going to become the artist formerly known as Nick Jonas?? Or maybe he’ll start Prince-ifying song titles like “Can’t Have U” and “Time 4 Me 2 Fly.” We can only hope!

Jonas told People, “With three of the four guys being part of the New Power Generation, the funk R & B rock style we were going for is definitely there.” If you were wondering what this side project means for his day job, Nick clears that up. “This is something that can definitely co-exist with the Jonas Brothers,” he said, assuring his fans that this isn’t the end for the boy band. “I’ve never really stood center stage before. It’s going to be different but I’m looking forward to it.” The new band goes on tour in January and has an album coming out on February 2. [Photo: GettyImages]
