People’s Choice Awards Cutest Moments

The People have spoken. They apparently like Supernatural more than The Vampire Diaries, but we’ll forgive them for that, because they made some other good choices that wound up giving us a pretty cute People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night. Like any awards show, there was singing, dancing and overly scripted jokes. Also there were kisses and giggles and sweet thank yous. We thought we’d highlight a few of our faves:

10. We saw Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence bonding backstage with co-star Liam Hemsworth’s gf Miley Cyrus. Good thing they get along nicely!

9. Emma Stone, daring to be different in her awesome green tux jacket, managed to make a clichéd message sound sweet: ” You have to stay true to yourself and don’t be afraid even if people say what you do isn’t cool.”

8. Paul Wesley called Ian Somerhalder “Smolderholder” as he opened the envelope for the Favorite Comedy Movie award.

7. Lea Michele pointed out her cousin in the audience WHO LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE LEA MICHELE.

6. Ian Somerhalder was sitting next to Nina Dobrev when she won Favorite TV Drama Actress, but he tweeted her anyway: Congratulations Nina!!! You won!!!! People DO like you;) You rock babe, truly.”

5. Chloe Moretz realized she’s too young to really say “when I was a kid” and then she ended her speech like she was on the phone with all of us, “All right, bye.” Bye, Chloe, see you soon!

This Week’s Hotness: Adam Lambert And Sauli Koskinen Vs. Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka

Last week, when we posted our list of the 30 cutest non-Robsten couples of 2011, a number of you spoke up for a write-in couple (which, with Russell and Katy over, we definitely have an opening there): Adam Lambert and his boyfriend of one year (and partner in crime), Finnish reality-TV vet Sauli Koskinen.

But we can’t make things THAT easy for you, Glambert fans. We thought we’d stir the pot a little more and bring the Weekly Hotness poll back from its winter hiatus. So we present to you this special couples’ edition, pitting Adam and Sauli against that other perennially adorable example of true love: Neil Patrick Harris and fiance David Burtka.

On the one hand, Adam, 29, and Sauli, 26, are undeniably gorgeous, and they look good together too. Plus their shared background in reality TV must have made for good conversation when they first hooked up.
On the other, Neil, 38, and David, 36, have the cuteness factor in their favor — especially when you include their 1-year-old twins, Gideon and Harper. They’ve also got longevity, having been together since 2004. Also, who can vote against Doogie?

But we’ll let you be the judge. Peruse the gallery and vote before the poll closes Friday at 1 p.m. ET.

28 Hottest, Grossest And Completely TMI Celeb TwitPics Of 2011

What did we do before celebrities found out about Twitter? Whether it’s hot bodies in bikinis, hot bodies out of bikinis, scabs, famous people without makeup or ill-advised tattoos, 2011 was a great year for celebrity TMI tweets. Everyone from Gaga and Kanye to Katy Perry and Mariah Carey wanted to share the inside of their hearts (and pants and bathroom stalls) with the world. Not that we want them to stop, mind you! Not like we would ever want them to stop. In the meantime, check out the 28 Best TwitPics of 2011: Because you can’t untweet something once it’s been tweeted, no matter how hard you try.

Neil Patrick Harris’ Twins Costume Calendar Close To Completion

We know we said we were done with the Halloween stuff. But we thought we could make an exception for something ridiculously cute that also has some history with us. We have been emotionally invested with Neil Patrick Harris‘ twins calendar, ever since he debuted it on Letterman a few months ago. Basically, Neil and his partner David Burtka, dress up their adorable twins, Gideon and Harper, in costume up for monthly holidays. The photos of which they’re going to turn into a calender to humiliate them with when they’re all grown up, of course.

It’s a pity they didn’t release this one in time for our celebrity Halloween twitpic gallery. But to be honest, it deserves pride of place. Neil tweeted this photograph of the family dressed up as Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Mr. Smee and Tinkerbell from Peter Pan. Best Halloween picture yet. Can’t wait to see the Christmas and New Year editions.

Neil Patrick Harris Gets His Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame!

About frickin’ time, we say! One of our favorite stars ever, Neil Patrick Harris was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame star yesterday. It’s right in front of the Pantages Theatre across from the legen—wait for it —dary (we had to throw in some Barney Stinson) dive bar, the Frolic Room. Of which Neil said in his acceptance speech, “This won’t be the first time I’ve been plastered on the sidewalk in front of the Frolic Room.”

Fiance David Burtka, Joss Whedon and his How I Met Your Mother co-star Jason Segel, the latter of whom introduced Harris to the waiting crowd. He joked, saying, “Neil has been entertaining us in television, stage, the Internet and film for over 60 years.” Cue a Doogie Howser flashback! Neil tweeted a photograph of his star as well, modestly writing, “Things I dig”. Congratulations! It’s well deserved!

Katy Perry Looks Smurfing Smurf-tastic at The Smurfs Premiere

Well it looks like someone in Hollywood felt the world is ready for The Smurfs in 3D, which had it’s premiere this weekend in Los Angeles. While we’re not quite sure how to feel about this, one thing is clear: Katy Perry looked Smurfin’ Smurftastic as she strutted down the red (er, blue) carpet. The California gurl played cartoon heart-throb Smurfette, the only female Smurf in the Smurf Village and envy of every Smurf in the land. We’re not sure if Katy dyed her hair blonde to get even closer to her cartoon alter ego (which she displayed proudly on her dress), but we’re diggin the new ‘do.

What do you think? Let us know! And while you’re at it, check out more pics of Neil Patrick Harris, Sofia Vergara and more Smurf stars in the gallery below!

Jon Hamm And Christina Hendricks Win At The Critics’ Choice Television Awards

Well, somebody’s in a good mood! The inaugural Critics’ Choice Television Awards went down yesterday—airing live on Vh1.com, with trophies going to a mix of familiar and not so familiar names. Mad Men walked away with Best Drama, Best Actor (Jon Hamm) and Best Supporting Actress (Christina Hendricks), though Hendricks actually split the award with Margo Martindale of Justified in a surprise tie. Modern Family won Best Comedy, with Tina Fey, Julianna Marguiles, Jim Parsons, Busy Phillips and Neil Patrick Harris nabbing the other acting awards. Of the stars, only Fey and Parsons have won Emmys for their work, so it’ll be interesting to see what influence these victories have on this year’s ceremony. After all, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards have always been a strong predictor of Oscar odds. Check out the complete list of winners and check out photos from the event in the gallery below.

TONY Awards Red Carpet: The Older Ladies Do It Better

What was in the water when these ladies were growing up? ‘Cause we’ll have some! The 2011 TONY Awards took place yesterday at the Beacon Theatre in New York City and we’re in awe of the slew of all the “older” actresses that walked the carpet. We’re not being derogatory about age at all. We genuinely think that the so called young Hollywood lot could learn a thing or two from ladies like Edie Falco (aged 47), Ellen Barkin (57), Brooke Shields (46) and Marg Helgenberger (52) because they looked incredible. Christie Brinkley looked pretty damn fine too, but we didn’t like the strapless blue gown she wore. And God Bless her soul, we love you Whoopi Goldberg, but what the hell were you wearing? She had some bizarre hat and an outfit that looked like it was made from cheap curtains on, which you’ll able to see in our gallery below.

A word about the gentlemen during the evening. Could Neil Patrick Harris (he was the host of the show) and partner David Burtka get any more handsome? Al Pacino could have taken a couple of styling tips considering he wore a weird headband, but his girlfriend, gorgeous Lucila Sola (who is 40 years younger than him) didn’t seem to mind. Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Rock, Matthew Broderick, Don Cheadle all suited up too, so take a look at the pictures and tell us what you think.

Neil Patrick Harris Shows Off Adorable, Humiliating Baby Calendar

We understand the precious things that make being a parent so worthwhile. Namely, dressing your babies up in hilarious little outfits and humiliating them when they’re old enough to understand how truly embarrassing you are. As seen on Letterman last night, Neil Patrick Harris’ baby costume calendar demonstrates that the How I Met Your Mother star truly understands that it’s his duty as a father to do both. Harris explained how he and partner David Burtka dress their kids Harper and Gideon up for the holidays: sombreros for Cinco De Mayo, rabbit ears for Easter, tiny beers for St. Patrick’s Day. Hopefully Neil Patrick Harris’ Tony Awards hosting gig will be yet just another prime example of parental embarrassment. Maybe dress them up as nuns and have them perform a little chubby version of Sister Act? No, you’re right; it’s Book of Mormon all the way.

The Smurfs Trailer Actually Looks Sort Of…Smurf-dorable

Oh lord, you guys, are we getting this soft in our old age? Are we crazy to think that The Smurfs trailer actually makes the movie look…sort of cute? We know! It doesn’t add up: Katy Perry‘s vocal talents, Blue Man jokes and the use of Tone-Loc‘s “Wild Thing” in the trailer for a children’s movie should be enough to make us smurf our pants with disgust. That being said, look at their little mushroom village! Look at Sofia Vergara! Look at Neil Patrick Harris with a suit jacket filled with squirming blue creatures! We feel like we’ve been taking wizard-prescribed crazy pills, because we cannot deny how charm. Either that, or we were just so horrified by all the Chipmunks films that any other CGI-version of our beloved childhood cartoons looks better in comparison. Just the fact we didn’t see a Beyonce song makes us want to give them a Best Picture Oscar! There…there’s probably a Beyonce musical number, isn’t there?
