Emma Watson Upstages Blake Lively At Elle UK Style Awards

Blake Lively may have brought the gown, but she wasn’t the belle of Elle UK’s Style Awards last night. Lively got a little too fashion-forward on the red carpet, with so much blue fabric pouring out of the front of her top that the Gossip Girl‘s outfit looked like flimsy maternity wear. Emma Watson had no such problem, wearing a short pink dress from Hakaan that hopefully reminded Blake that cut-outs should be flattering, not random (also, there’s “leggy” and then there’s a giant gap between the folds of your dress). Blake better hope Green Lantern is a hit—she can’t just assume she’ll be the ingenue anymore.

Get a closer look at both dresses in the gallery below.

10 Best Dressed Stars At The 2011 BAFTA Awards

Let’s give the British Academy of Film And Television Arts awards show its due, people. Yes, we know the Grammy‘s were on yesterday, but the BAFTA’s are a pretty big deal too! And can we just say how pleased we are that Colin Firth won best actor for The King’s Speech! We kinda love him here at the FABLife, so much so that we have a full gallery dedicated to Firth’s open-shirted sexiness (photos).

You can check out the full list of BAFTA winners here, but let’s get down to the really important stuff: who rocked the red carpet? Can we just say right in the beginning that J.K Rowling, taking a page out of the House of Slytherin, and wearing a python-print Lanvin halter-necked gown totally surprised us! Ssss-izzling! Lucky Julianne Moore wore a midnight blue Tom Ford velvet gown with a gorgeous bow detail at the back. Ford was also Julianne’s date for the night! Other best dressed stars included Jessica Alba in a flowing Atelier Versace, and the always lovely Emma Watson in Valentino. Want to know who else made the list? You’ll just have to check out the gallery below. [Photos: WENN]

The Cutest Celeb Baby Photo Ever

Sometimes in this crazy world of celebrity, it’s easy to forget just how unrealistic most of their lives are — and nothing more so when it comes to the “our baby joy” photoshoot. Over the years, we’ve become so used to being spoon-fed images of a perfectly made-up showbiz mom, with gorgeous hair and flattering lighting, we’ve forgotten what’s actually the reality of having a baby. And the rest of us with kids — who love it, don’t get us wrong — look at our uncombed hair, vomiting child and stained joggers and wonder where it all went wrong.

And this is why Minnie Driver deserves a bloody medal. The British actress and singer, who gave birth to baby Henry last month, has sideswiped the usual celeb hoo-ha and resisted signing up for the predictable photoshoot of perfection. Instead, she posted a totally adorable photo on her MySpace page of her and her four-week-old son. Naturally, Henry’s a total cutie, but Minnie looks fantastic. She’s not got a scrap of makeup on, that blue T-shirt has definitely seen better days, and her hair is crying out for some serum. But that’s why it’s perfect — Minnie looks like a real mom who actually knows what’s most important. You totally rock, Minnie! [Photo: WENN]

#90: Matt Damon Dumps Minnie Driver on Oprah

Matt Damon and Minnie Driver fell in love while the rest of the world was going gaga over their surprise 1997 hit, Good Will Hunting. But while Matt’s character chases after Minnie at the end of that mushy flick, their actual affair ended awkwardly and abruptly when he denied having a girlfriend during an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

After her man confessed in front of millions that their relationship was amicably over (and had been for a couple of weeks), Minnie milked her newfound rep as the woman scorned, referencing Damon’s dumping in interviews and telling The Los Angeles Times, “It’s unfortunate that Matt went on Oprah. It seemed like a good forum for him to announce to the world that we were no longer together, which I found fantastically inappropriate.”

Even less appropriate was Matt jumping in bed with Winona “Sticky Fingers” Ryder just weeks later. Will Hunting may have been good, but the guy who played him was a straight-up bad boy.
