Breaking Dawn Star Nikki Reed Returns To Screenwriting Roots

Breaking Dawn Part 1 didn’t quite bring in as much box-office cash as the biggest Twilight movie so far, New Moon, but its $139.5 million opening places it at #5 of the all-time biggest debuts. It’s hard to remember that this mega franchise comes from humble indie roots — but one of the biggest reminders of that is how some of the stars are planning their post-Twilight futures.

Take Nikki Reed, for example. The actress who first came to Hollywood’s attention as the 13-year-old co-writer and co-star of Catherine Hardwicke‘s Thirteen wants to return to her first passion, writing.

“I’m working on a screenplay now,” she told TheFABlife last week. “It’s not autobiographical, but it’s based on a distant, distant family member. And I’m writing music with Paul, and I write on my blog all the time. And I’m thinking about a novel idea right now, so writing is probably my number one priority.”

After all the kerfuffle over Nikki’s quote in Seventeen magazine about not being best friends with the entire cast, we asked which co-stars and directors she’s dying to work with again.

All of them for different reasons. Right now I’m such a huge fan of Bill Condon‘s, that’s right there in the forefront of my mind. He’s so talented. I was a fan of his long before the series. But all of them for different reasons — Chris Weitz is so talented, David Slade, Catherine Hardwicke who I’ve worked with numerous times. Being in Breaking Dawn and having so many great scenes to work on with Kristen was so great. She and I have been close for many years. It was really exciting to be able to do that with her. And Elizabeth Reaser and Michael Sheen. It’s like, gosh, I don’t know. There is not one!”

Michael Sheen Reads Twilight Fan Fiction And It Is Awesome

Yes, this is Michael Sheen reading Twilight fan fiction on VH1′s Big Morning Buzz. We know — it is totally amazing. The Midnight in Paris actor was super cool and down to do anything when he visited the set…including a very serious dramatic reading of one of the most popular Twilight fan fics out there: Savage7289′s Unexpected Circumstances. Aro is king! Edward is a knight! A temperamental, hunky knight. ON A HORSE. Isabella is a serf-turned-wife of Edward. Why buy another supernatural young adult fiction book again when we can just read about Edward and Bella living in a castle?

Enjoy Sheen’s dramatic reading and then kick back, grab a bottle of Pinot (Noir or Grigio, readers’ choice) and read Unexpected Circumstances. We’re only in Chapter 2 but we have a feeling Bella and Sir Edward are gonna do it. (Eventually. We hope. Do they have headboards in medieval times?)

Rachel McAdams Rolls Out In Red For Midnight In Paris At Cannes

We figured Rachel McAdams was had something big planned when she showed up in France with that huge trunk yesterday! The actress traded Tuesday’s hat and trenchcoat for long blond curls and a sheer red Marchesa gown at the Cannes premiere of Woody Allen‘s Midnight In Paris, which she attended with co-stars Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, Lea Seydoux and Michael Sheen—who also doubled as her date. Are you feeling this fiery look?

Check out the gallery for more shots of McAdams (check out that train!), plus a glimpse at the white dress she wore earlier at the Midnight In Paris photo call.

Cool Britannia: The BAFTA Awards Take LA

The British are coming, and they look fabulous. The Los Angeles chapter of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts held their annual awards gala last night at the Hyatt Regency hotel, and some of England’s finest talent turned out. A surprisingly cheerful Carey Mulligan, Michael Sheen and his show-stopping mustache, and comedy legend Stephen Fry all did Her Majesty proud as they strolled across the regal red carpet. Marion Cotillard rep’ed the continent in a shimmering gray cocktail dress, and Irishman Cillian Murphy looked as cool as his icy blue eyes.

But America fought back with some of its own biggest stars, including Jeff Bridges, Dakota Fanning, Olivia Wilde, and Kevin Spacey, who showed off his new honorary Commander of the British Empire medal recently given to him by the Queen for services to drama! We don’t know what any of that means (he’s still American, right?), but we imagine if the Queen ever gives you anything at all, you take it. No questions asked.

And of course, it’s not a party until Betty White shows up. Check it out in the gallery below!

Rachel McAdams And Michael Sheen Are The Newest Random Couple In Town

rachel_michael3

Who’s that happily lurking behind Michael Sheen? Rachel McAdams, that’s who. And this is not her photo bombing him, either. They’re both leaving a screening of Sheen’s Beautiful Boy at the Toronto Film Festival. Together. Because in one of the most weirdly random celebrity pairings (hello, Fred Armisen and Abby Elliot), these two are now McSheen, of course.

Thus we ask the following questions: why are Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen dating? And more importantly, why does this bother us? We really don’t know. But they apparently started lovin’ it up all over the city after meeting at the screening. Are Ryan Gosling‘s ex and Kate Beckinsale‘s ex really a serious item? Time will tell. It’s just a nine year age difference. That’s not much…right?

The Five Most Awesome Moments From New Moon

nm_kiss

Now that we’ve revealed the Five Cheesiest Moments from The Twilight Saga: New Moon, let’s discuss what made the Twi-hards go wild. Here are our top five favorite moments from the much-anticipated sequel. Spoilers ahead!

5. We’ll be honest. We thought Anna Kendrick‘s role as Jessica in Twilight was annoying and poorly acted. Homegirl stepped it up for New Moon! She provided some of the most (intentionally) funny moments in the film as she frankly expressed her annoyance with Bella’s depression and lack of appreciation for shopping.
