Jennifer Lawrence Returns To Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue

If we hadn’t already seen evidence of Kristen Stewart’s upcoming Vanity Fair spread, we know there’d be an uprising about her absence from the cover of VF’s annual Hollywood Issue. After all, there are two other alumnae from the 2010 issue returning for this year’s cover: Mia Wasikowska and Jennifer Lawrence. They share the mag’s front image with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’s Rooney Mara and Jessica Chastain, she of The Help and every other critically acclaimed movie of 2011.

Behind the fold are some other rather recognizable faces from the past year, albeit made up in ultra-glam ’30s-era styling for the Mario Testino photo that makes them nearly unrecognizable: Elizabeth Olsen, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton and Lily Collins. Three of the actresses are buzzy but not yet getting mainstream recognition: Adepero Oduye, star of the indie fave Pariah; Like Crazy’s Felicity Jones and Brit Marling, who co-wrote and starred in last year’s Another Earth and co-stars opposite Richard Gere in the upcoming hedge-fund drama (!) Arbitrage.

Stars Flock To The CFDA Vogue Awards

The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards took place on Monday night at the Skylight in New York. Young Hollywood was well rep’d by the likes of Amanda Seyfried, Joe Jonas, Chloe Moretz, Mia Wasikowska, Zoe Kravitz and Olivia Wilde. It was couple’s night as well with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, La La and Carmelo Anthony, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell and Cobra Starship‘s Gabe Saporta with designer Erin Featherstone making an appearance. The event was presided over by the steely eyes of Anna Wintour, so you know everyone rethought their outfits at least five times before heading out.

Leonardo DiCaprio Named The Highest-Grossing Actor Of 2010

Leonardo Di Caprio

Leonardo DiCaprio has never married, but people sure love to watch the guy get sweaty while hallucinating about his dead wife. The actor tops Forbes’ Top-Grossing Actors of 2010 list after the widowerific Shutter Island and Inception took in a whopping $1.1 billion globally. Leo’s decision to play J. Edgar Hoover in an upcoming biopic may seem a little risky in this context—that guy so wasn’t in the “missing his wife” biz—but considering Leo will take home more than $50 million for Critics’ Choice Best Film nominee (and Award Season Tweet Tracker favorite) Inception alone, it’s not like he can’t afford to take the risk.

It’s worth noting that the grosses of animated movies weren’t included on this list, meaning Steve Carell doesn’t get to throw Despicable Me‘s $500 million in the pot with his decent but relatively paltry Date Night and Dinner For Schmucks grosses. Instead, Alice In Wonderland‘s Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp take 2nd and 3rd respectively (Mia’s The Kids Are All Right has made more over its run than Depp’s far more recent The Tourist). Robert Downey Jr. comes in fourth for Iron Man 2 and Due Date, while Daniel Radcliffe comes in fifth for…well, just guess.

Everyone Was At The Hollywood Awards Gala But Us

hollywood_awards_gala

If you’re an actor and you weren’t at last night’s 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala, then fire your agent immediately because everyone else was. We aren’t even actors and we’re still sort of hurt we weren’t invited. Come on guys, we’re fun!

A dazzling array of A-listers turned up at LA’s Beverly Hilton Hotel, including Halle Berry who shone in a darlingly low cut sequined dress. Hilary Swank, Milla Jovovich, Jodie Foster and Helena Bonham Carter were just a few of the many mega-celebs who looked radiant as they made their way inside.

But looking fabulous on the red carpet was just the half of it. The Tinsel Crew then settled down for some hardcore award presentations. Among those honored were Sean Penn for his humanitarian work, Sylvester Stallone who was presented with a Career Achievement Award. Mia Wasikowska and Andrew Garfield were singled out as the most promising break through stars, and Zach Galifanakis won- what else?- Best Comedy Actor. But The Social Network made out the best, netting an award for Best Ensemble Cast as well as Best Screenwriting for Aaron Sorkin.

Mia Wasikowska’s Dress: Not All Right

SPL191981_002

When Mia Wasikowska starred as Alice in Tim Burton‘s Alice In Wonderland earlier this year, she had the ability to make herself smaller or larger depending on what potions she drank. Looks like the top of her dress drank the miniaturizing one. That proportion is just all wrong and folks, if we can turn into our dad for a sec, it’s a real mesh. (Fabric puns!)

Mia was on the red carpet for her latest feature, The Kids Are All Right, and while we can appreciate the fashion risk she took, much like Gwyneth Paltrow‘s goth lace Oscar dress from 2002, there are major boob issues we can’t get past. On the other hand, Mia’s co-stars Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore are flawless and Amy Poehler, pregnant with baby number two, looks adorable.

Style Wars: The Queens Vs. Alice

The fashion at the world premiere of Tim Burton‘s Alice in Wonderland was just as dark as his gothic interpretation of Lewis Carroll‘s classic tale. Aussie newcomer Mia Wasikowska (Alice) held her own alongside silver screen veterans Anne Hathaway (The White Queen) and Burton’s wife Helena Bonham Carter (The Red Queen). Wasikowska wore an open-backed laced gown, Hathaway sex’d it up in a slinky bronze dress, and Bonham Carter donned an expectedly kooky ensemble. Which Wonderland star looked the most glamorous?
