Marion Cotillard’s Baby Is Tres Adorable

You guys, with all the focus on the Zumas, Kingstons, Suris and Havens of celebrity town, we realize we’ve missed out on sharing the incredible cuteness of some other kiddies. Our bad. One of them is Marion Cotillard’s son, Marcel. We just saw this photograph of him and promptly fell in love. Little Marcel was visiting his maman on the Brooklyn set of her new untitled James Grey period film with Joaquin Phoenix — we can already smell the awards. And as gorgeous as Marion is (without makeup, too), her bébé totally steals the show. Those cheeks!

Marion Cotillard Without Makeup Looks Way More Gorgeous Than Expected

OK, so this is Marion Cotillard we’re talking about. The woman is a genetic marvel. Elegant, sexy, charming, beautiful — any one of those adjectives work with her, which is so rare. A large part of us, attributed that to makeup and styling, which when done right, could make anyone look like a goddess. That whole notion is now busted due to these photographs of Marion walking around New York last night without a smidge of any cosmetics on her face. Here’s what we have: She can pull off fringed boots and a beanie like a boss. She has perfectly pale, spotless skin. Her eyes are really that blue. She looks a wee bit like Vanessa Paradis (especially in the photograph on the left.) She looks way better without makeup than we do. Seriously, a ridiculously hungover friend popped in this morning, took one look at this very non-Marion face and said, “You look pretty much like how I feel.” End of story.

Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Robsten Top Another List, Because Why Not?

The folks at Forbes certainly know what they’re doing. Usually, we turn to them for the big lists, like the Celebrity 100, the World’s Most Powerful Women or the Hip-Hop Cash Kings. But those take a lot of work, and sometimes, they just need something fast and easy (we’re just assuming here, ’cause you know, we’d never be so gratuitous about our lists). So, they do things like this week’s Hollywood’s Top-Earning On-Screen Couples, which is topped by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, followed by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

We’re very happy to see the Harry Potter and Twilight stars at the top of the list, natch. But it does feel a bit like the editors sat down and said, “What kind of list can we do that will feature the stars of Harry Potter and Twilight, and maybe also Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers?” They admit themselves that the whole thing is based on numbers from Box Office Mojo (the total earnings from movies with the stars as a couple from the last five years).

Still, here we are, looking at the list. So they’ve hooked us again! We’ll give you the full list below, but also we want to come up with some kind of challenge for the Forbes editors, just to make sure they stay on top of their game. Maybe the next feature should be something like America’s Highest-Grossing Puppet Shows or Top-Earning Subway Mariachi Groups. That‘ll take a little shoe leather.

Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Roles In Dark Knight Rises Revealed

After the flurry of Dark Knight casting announcements earlier this year, we were gearing ourselves up for an all-villain cast: Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane, even allegedly Robin Williams as Hugo Strange. However, today’s news about Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Dark Knight Rises roles reminds us that at least some residents in Gotham have to be normals. Who else would constantly be in terrible danger?

Previous rumors asserted that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was cast as Alberto Falcone while Cotlliard would play Talia al Ghul, both bad guys from the Batman mythology. Luckily Warner Bros. issued a statement explaining that “Cotillard will appear as Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham,” while Gordon-Levitt will play “John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon. Maybe Christian Bale‘s Wayne can actually interact with people who aren’t sociopaths, at least until the stress of living the the world’s most supervillain-ridden burg finally drives them to madness.

Marion Cotillard To Join The Dark Knight Rises?

Would Christopher Nolan rather be making Inception 2 than Batman 3? A French magazine reports that the dreamworld caper’s Marion Cotillard is set to join the cast of The Dark Knight Rises. Her rep told The Hollywood Reporter that the deal is “in discussion, nothing has been confirmed,” but if she does get a spot in the upcoming blockbuster, she’ll potentially be reacquainted with Inception co-stars Tom Hardy (confirmed to be the villain Bane), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (in talks to play one of Bane’s accomplices), and of course, Michael Caine, who will undoubtedly return as Alfred. No word yet if Scarecrow Cillian Murphy will be returning as well, but it would seem unfair not to let him cameo.

The news isn’t a total surprise, as Nolan has no qualms about re-using actors: Caine has been in every Nolan film since Batman Begins, advising Christian Bale in both the Batcave and in The Prestige. But not only is the roll call getting rather familiar, but the list of stars is also getting pretty deep—are you ready for a movie with Cotillard and Catwoman Anne Hathaway? Maybe Leonardo DiCaprio can show up sweating in the corner of Bruce Wayne’s mind during a nightmare.

Marion Cotillard Has A French Bun In The Oven!

Or as they say in France, she has a croissant in her beret. Actress Marion Cotillard is pregnant with a bébé due this spring, reports US Magazine. Cotillard’s rep has confirmed the Nine star and her equally good-looking mate French director Guillaume Canet are expecting their first. That baby is going to be reading continental philosophy and sneering at tourists in no time!

Cotillard most recently appeared in the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards-nominated Inception along side Leo Dicaprio, and memorably won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2007 for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose. Cotillard and Canet met while working the French romantic thriller Love Me If You Dare in 2003, meaning that Marion’s life is now exactly the life we fantasized for ourselves when we were 16. Congratulations to the happy Gallic couple!

FABLife’s DVD Pick Of The Week

Inception

How do you follow The Dark Knight? If you’re writer-director Christopher Nolan, with a cerebral hit about an A-Team of dream spies. Inception has been called both “adult” and “intelligent,” which means basically that its complicated universe is only explained once by the furiously expositing characters. After that, you’re on your own. Leonardo Di Caprio is the Hannibal leading his team of pros into neurotic industrialist Cillian Murphy‘s head. Newbies will quickly realize that the less one knows the better—part of Inception‘s rare thrill is wondering where it’s going. Vets will want to see it again to figure out what happened. Another possibility is just to sit back and enjoy having the movie tickle parts other so-called blockbusters don’t. For one, Nolan has assembled an ace cast that lets Ellen Page stretch, Joseph Gordon-Levitt establish his star credentials, and Tom Hardy (Rocknrolla) introduce himself. French knockout Marion Cotillard provides glamour as Di Caprio’s murderous wife. There’s also a brace of killer action scenes, including one that cuts between a floating Gordon-Levitt, a James Bond-style sequence in snowy mountains, and a slow-motion van accident, all amid in-jokes like an opening that washes up the star of Titanic on a faraway beach. Both thrilling and unaccountably romantic, Inception is a example of moviemaking at its very best.

Extras: The Bluray Combo pack includes a making of featurette, a documentary on dreams hosted by Gordon-Levitt, and an animated prologue that explains the movie’s cold open.

Cool Britannia: The BAFTA Awards Take LA

bafta_main

The British are coming, and they look fabulous. The Los Angeles chapter of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts held their annual awards gala last night at the Hyatt Regency hotel, and some of England’s finest talent turned out. A surprisingly cheerful Carey Mulligan, Michael Sheen and his show-stopping mustache, and comedy legend Stephen Fry all did Her Majesty proud as they strolled across the regal red carpet. Marion Cotillard rep’ed the continent in a shimmering gray cocktail dress, and Irishman Cillian Murphy looked as cool as his icy blue eyes.

But America fought back with some of its own biggest stars, including Jeff Bridges, Dakota Fanning, Olivia Wilde, and Kevin Spacey, who showed off his new honorary Commander of the British Empire medal recently given to him by the Queen for services to drama! We don’t know what any of that means (he’s still American, right?), but we imagine if the Queen ever gives you anything at all, you take it. No questions asked.

And of course, it’s not a party until Betty White shows up. Check it out in the gallery below!

Kate Beckinsale’s Cleavage Catches Her Earring At Cannes AmFar Benefit

Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale‘s dress looked pretty tight at last night’s AmFar gala at the Cannes Festival, so it’s a good thing her cleavage successfully caught her falling earring on the red carpet, keeping her from having to try and pick the low-hanging bauble up from the floor (sadly, her decolletage has been unable to keep her recent films from slipping right down the box office chart). The soiree was a predictably star-studded affair, with Jennifer Lopez, Marion Cotillard, Elizabeth Banks, Grace Jones, Michelle Rodriguez, Mischa Barton, Kristen Dunst, Naomi Campbell, Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson and countless others (including Gerard Butler and Russell Crowe, somehow not disrupting the time-space continuum) enjoying performances by Mary J. Blige and Patti Smith. See what everyone wore in the gallery below.
