7 Questionable Looks From The 2012 SAG Awards Red Carpet

It’s unfortunate that three ladies from Glee have made it to this SAG Awards list but we can assure you that they’re all on for very valid reasons. We’ll tackle Lea Michele first. It’s odd that she’s on here because she’s been doing so well with red carpet fashion lately, but our problem with her silver-grey Versace get-up she chose tonight is that it washed her out. A brighter lip, perhaps? A different colored shoe? But our biggest issue is with that hip-high slit, which looked tacky. Diva, please!

Then there’s Heather Morris, whose Masai Payan dress just doesn’t work because one half looks like it’s made from pleather and the other half is sheer panels that look confused. Her hairstyle ages her unnecessarily, too. Finishing up the trio is Jenna Ushkowitz in Rebecca Minkoff. The mixture of florals and the sheer paneling, again, makes it a fail.

Rose Byrne wore one of her favorite designers (Elie Saab) but picked a white jumpsuit completely encrusted with sequins, slashed down the front. We have a problem with jumpsuits on red carpets as it is, and this one is just not good. We also don’t know what Busy Philipps was thinking? That much boho is a no-no. We wouldn’t wear this to the beach, let alone an awards show. Shailene Woodley wore a floral L’Wren Scott, but didn’t pay much attention to her hair or makeup. As a result, the dress looked a bit like an arts and crafts project on her. Rounding up the list is Kaley Cuoco whose feathered Ramona Keveza combined with the braided hair borders on milkmaid territory. Could any of these looks be salvaged, or should they just be savaged? Let us know in the comments section!

The Golden Globes Back Story: 20 Of The Sexiest Backs On The Red Carpet

Swooping cowls, cut-outs, drapes, racer-backs, sheer lace work … Golden Globe gowns were as sexy from the back as they were in front this year. Whether it was Lea Michele‘s sheer silver Marchesa to co-star Dianna Agron’s and Evan Rachel Wood’s avian-inspired, red-hot lacy Giles Deacon dress and Gucci Premiere emerald gown, respectively —- the back is officially back. A couple of other favorites include a Glee actress again. Naya Rivera stunned in a silver Vera Wang gown which had a lovely keyhole back. We also truly appreciated the back view of Kathleen Robertson’s Maria Lucia Hohan dress, Stacey Keibler’s stunning Valentino, Kate Beckinsale’s Roberto Cavalli and Heidi Klum’s sexy Calvin Klein. Click through our gallery for the all the different looks and let us know what you think.

The 20 Most Questionable Golden Globes Red Carpet Looks

The Golden Globes red carpet looks from this evening’s ceremony seemed to fall into two distinct categories: delightfully lovely, and highly, highly questionable. Is Jessica Biel actually wearing an old ill-fitting wedding dress? Was there no other, better way to get the message across to Justin? Was Zooey Deschanel‘s gown literally made out of Astroturf? How did Tilda Swinton get so insane-pantsuit fabulous? Check out the Golden Globes 20 Most Questionable Looks and let us know which look had you scratching your head the most.

10 Best-Dressed At The People’s Choice Awards

As expected, there was a lot of traffic on the red carpet for the People’s Choice Awards and we’re happy to report that some new faces popped up on the best-dressed radar. We welcome Ashley Benson into the fold. She wore an adorable, trumpet-skirted, white (with a black underskirt peeking out) Alice + Olivia frock that we now covet. Also wearing the same designer was a very pregnant Alyson Hannigan who wore a form-fitting, embellished sheath that showed off her bump. Her How I Met Your Mother co-star and close friend Cobie Smulders rocked it in a strapless, electric-blue Reema Acra dress. That incredible gold necklace you see on her is by Etro. Blue works like a charm for Cobie — remember her turquoise Grecian gown at the Emmys last year? Julianne Hough is also on the list and she gets the sexiest ever award in a sizzling silver chainmail Kaufman Franco dress. It clung to every curve but covered everything up in the front. But when she turned — bam — totally backless. Faith Hill — who sang at the show — looked like a beautiful, tall drink of water in a tangerine, halter-necked cocktail dress.

Now to the usual suspects. Miley Cyrus and Lea Michele both wore white but to very different effects. Miley wore a very original David Koma dress which had a sheer panel down the front — it didn’t look smutty at all — and a touch of colorful texturing at the hem. Lea wore a spectacular flapper-like Marchesa dress with a draped back. It was possibly our pick for the night, especially paired with her slash of pink lipstick. Kristen Bell chose one of our favorite designers, Valentino, and wore a lovely sheer blouse and skirt in the punchy shade of vermilion. Chloe Moretz looked fabulous in a green-and-black, edgy Proenza Schouler dress — trust her to pick the coolest designers at 14. It’s beyond us. Rounding up the list, and making us want to say “Top of the mornin’ to ya,” is Emma Stone. It’s the most unusual outfit for the awards show, but she nails it. Emma wore head-to-toe Gucci with a shamrock green tuxedo jacket, black cigarette pants and white silk shirt that had two long panels trailing out.

Have a look at our gallery below to check out the outfits we’ve outlined above. We’d love to hear your thoughts!

People’s Choice Awards Cutest Moments

The People have spoken. They apparently like Supernatural more than The Vampire Diaries, but we’ll forgive them for that, because they made some other good choices that wound up giving us a pretty cute People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night. Like any awards show, there was singing, dancing and overly scripted jokes. Also there were kisses and giggles and sweet thank yous. We thought we’d highlight a few of our faves:

10. We saw Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence bonding backstage with co-star Liam Hemsworth’s gf Miley Cyrus. Good thing they get along nicely!

9. Emma Stone, daring to be different in her awesome green tux jacket, managed to make a clichéd message sound sweet: ” You have to stay true to yourself and don’t be afraid even if people say what you do isn’t cool.”

8. Paul Wesley called Ian Somerhalder “Smolderholder” as he opened the envelope for the Favorite Comedy Movie award.

7. Lea Michele pointed out her cousin in the audience WHO LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE LEA MICHELE.

6. Ian Somerhalder was sitting next to Nina Dobrev when she won Favorite TV Drama Actress, but he tweeted her anyway: Congratulations Nina!!! You won!!!! People DO like you;) You rock babe, truly.”

5. Chloe Moretz realized she’s too young to really say “when I was a kid” and then she ended her speech like she was on the phone with all of us, “All right, bye.” Bye, Chloe, see you soon!

Glee To Bend Space And Time For Rachel, Finn And Kurt’s Return?

Ever since Glee creator Ryan Murphy told Ryan Seacrest last summer that New Directions’ seniors would indeed graduate after this year, fans have been through a kind of roller coaster. First, we thought Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith and the like would be getting the boot after season three, as their characters broke out of Lima, Ohio. Then there was talk of a spin-off. But on Sunday, Fox Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly told the Television Critics’ Association: “There will not be a Glee spinoff but those characters will graduate and it’s led to a very interesting idea that I think is going to really give us something cool to dig into next season.”

And thankfully, a couple of those stars decided not to leave us in suspense any longer: Michele (Rachel), Colfer (Kurt) and Monteith (Finn), at least will be back. Still no word on whether Brittany, Santana, Quinn and Puck will also remain.

“[Ryan Murphy] told me his plan and I will tell you it’s incredibly groundbreaking and it’s revolutionary for television, the way he’s figured out how to use these graduated high school characters on this TV show,” Michele told E! Online this morning.

” A lot of people are sad there won’t be a spinoff but I think they’re going to be very very excited to find out what’s in store – I’m very excited by it,” Colfer told The Insider. “Ryan’s idea is kind of revolutionary. It’s the best of both worlds. Everyone is going to like it.”

So, what do you think Ryan’s “revolutionary” idea will involve? Vote in our poll after the jump and share your own suggestions in the comments. (Bonus question: What do you think of Lea’s very un-Rachel-like blue dress from last night?)

We’re talking about women like Anne Hathaway, Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde, Amber Heard, Mila Kunis and Blake Lively. The latter’s new boyfriend’s ex, Scarlett Johansson is up for the win, making this an interesting face-off!

25 Apologies We’ll Fondly Remember From 2011

In the age of Twitter, it’s pretty amazing that more celebrities aren’t putting their foot in it these days. But enough of our favorite (or least favorite) actors, musicians and other public figures managed to say and do the kind of awful things that simultaneously give publicists strokes and keep them in business. After those awful things come the kind of public apologies that make us cringe, squirm and thank god we’re not in their shoes. From Chris Brown to Gilbert Gottfried, Arnold Schwarzenegger to Lea Michele, Hilary Swank to Mythbusters, we had a lot of Schadenfreude to enjoy in 2011. We’re pretty sure the culprits would like us to forget these moments, but here’s a little gallery to remind you:

Posing 101 With Lea Michele: 22 Of Her Best Red Carpet Moves

After scrolling through 91 pages of photos (yes, really) of Lea Michele we can safely say this: Lea Michele for ALL the red carpet posing awards. This woman is a master, a professional, an icon of the carpet who has risen through the ranks in less than two years. What took Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie and Beyonce years to craft has taken this starlet months, and dare we say – she may just outshine them all. Lea’s obvious love of the spotlight (she was a Broadway performer before Gleeking out, after all) is enhanced by an adorable bod and amazing outfit picks by her stylist. She’s also trained in the art of contortion and knows how to twist and turn her body in such a way that she looks like a lightening bolt dressed in a Marchesa gown. But what’s most impressive is that Lea has a whole playbook of poses at her disposal! While some actresses can knock out on or two signature moves, Ms. Michele has no less than 22 in her tiny pocket.

The tutorial begins below!
