Celebrities Get Sexy At US Magazine Hot Hollywood Style Issue Party

Just the name of this party itself would give us stress! Imagine the pressure to look, well, hot, at the Us Magazine Hot Hollywood Style Issue bash. Some stars caved, like Lauren Conrad, who needs to fire her entire entourage — hairdresser, stylist and make-up artist — stat. Her bun looks heavier than her whole body, she’s got this weird geisha white powder thing going on with her face and her sloppy blouson-teeny skirt ensemble just isn’t working. Jessica Szhor also seems to have been inspired by her namesake Jessica Lowndes bra-baring ensembles. The lace doesn’t make it classy, ladies.

Who did make it work was Camila Alves who was ridiculously sexy in a fire-engine red strapless dress with lips to match. Carmen Electra looked like a blonde Sofia Vergara, and knocked it out of the ball park with a simple metallic shift. Sara Rue, Pia Toscano, Alexa Vega, Paris Hilton (who looked really demure), Brooke Burke and Petra Nemcova all stepped it up in the wardrobe department as well. We’d also like to say that the magazine’s “Style Icon of the Year” Jessica Simpson is getting there one ensemble at a time. Really, really getting there. Good for you, Jess! The CoverGirl 50th Anniversary Celebration Brings Out The Stars

The CoverGirl 50th Anniversary Celebration yesterday in West Hollywood drew its fair share of stars. Drew Barrymore, who we adore, turned up in a bright orange Jil Sander that just missed the mark. We love the color, but we don’t get the weird elastic band around her knees? Also…what’s up with the two-tone hair, Drew? Otherwise, love you, as usual.

The brand’s latest CoverGirl, Taylor Swift also made an appearance, posing for photos with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. Tay looked lovely in a strapless, sequined black dress, but the usual sparkle was missing in her smile, probably due to her split with Jake Gyllenhaal. Other celebrities included Sofia Vergara and Queen Latifah (wearing sunglasses and sneakers), plus starlets like Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Amber Riley, Jessica Lowndes and Sophia Bush. Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett and hubby Hank Baskett were hanging out too, with plenty of other ladies! Check them all out in the gallery below and tell us who was dressed best (and worst)?

Get Ready, World, Lauren Conrad Is Coming Back To TV

Lauren Conrad was the one shred of sanity in the crazy world of The Hills – she was the glue that held together the unstable mosaic of fragile, stupid and unreasonable personalities on the show. When she left, the show lost it’s only voice of reason and, to be honest, the most boring element. But then when we watched the show post-LC, we realized she was necessary, without her there was TOO MUCH crazy. Conrad is coming back to television soon though, she has agreed to appear on a new MTV show that focuses on her career as both a designer and an author and she says she has more control over this show than the others.

“It was great because I was allowed to lay down ground rules and say this is what I’m willing to put on camera again and this is what I’m not,” Conrad said. The show will also feature her roommate, Maura, but not her boyfriend Kyle Howard. So basically, it will be The Hills, if The Hills only showed the segments where LC was working at People’s Revolution and hanging out with Lo? We’re pretty sure it’ll be more exciting than that (we hope!) but we’re totally fascinated by Conrad’s relationship with MTV. The girl has literally grown-up on camera for the network and we actually are grateful that she’ll be back since, compared to so many people to come out of those shows, she’s successful and relatively normal. Just, you know, kinda bland. Will you watch the new show, or is Audrina Patridge‘s stint on DWTS enough Hills-related television for a while?

Heidi Montag Realizes She’s All Alone, Reaches Out To Ex-BFF’s

Now that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt‘s divorce is final, the body-formally-known-as Heidi has realized she has a big Pratt-shaped hole in her life. And she’s left reminiscing how her ex loved fame more than he loved her.

So what does she have left? She’s alienated her family (calling the cops on your Mom will do that). No friends either. Lauren Conrad and Heidi, once BFF, are no more. Even ex sister-in-law Stephanie Pratt doesn’t speak to her. So poor Heidi now has all that extra boob and no one to appreciate it.

In a move that reeks of desperation, she’s resorted to reaching out to her old Hills co-stars LC and Audrina Patridge in an attempt to erase all the Spencer years. She tweeted, “watching old hills i miss you @AudrinaPatridge and most of all @laurenconrad.”

Don’t hold your breath, Heidi-hon.

Spencer Pratt Scared Hills Castmates And Security At Inception Premiere

Spencer Pratt was not on the guest list at The Hills finale party and had to crash it dressed as an old hobo Santa, which is insane, but pretty much what we expect of him. Lauren Conrad however, was allegedly so fearful that Spencer would crash and do something even more drastic or dangerous, that The NY Daily News is reporting that she brought a Taser with her to the party just in case he pulled some funny business. Honestly, we know The Hills is full of phonies and manufactured melodrama, but in the case of the ever-volatile Spencer, we don’t think LC’s accessory is an overreaction. Spencer’s publicist has clearly drunk the Pratt Kool-Aid as well, because he explained that Spencer wore the old-man beard because “When your life is edited into one-minute segments, that’s what you look like in the end.” Right.

After the finale party and still dressed like a hillbilly, Spencer and throngs of his followers (fans? could it be?) tried to get in to the Inception premiere party being held across the street. They were denied access by security to that event as well. Congrats on dodging that bullet, cast of Inception.

The Hills Retires On Crazy, Classy Note

The Hills may be dead, but last night’s farewell party was alive with fabulous Cali girls, as well as a whackjob party crasher. MTV threw a bash at the Roosevelt Hotel as the series finale aired, and Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, and Kristin Cavallari looked predictably hot, freshly spray-tanned, and as fashionable as ever. Audrina rocked a curve-hugging magenta mini, LC went backless in a short glitzy gown, Kristin donned a flattering Zuhair Murad cocktail dress, and Whitney wore a colorful frock with some to-die-for sandals. We weren’t crazy about Lo Bosworth‘s matronly look, Stephanie Pratt‘s boring blue Herve Leger, or Holly Montag‘s frumpy feathered number.

While both the finale (with the exception of the Earth-shattering but expected ending) and The After Show were relatively tame and drama-free, what would the Hills be without a dash of Spencer Pratt‘s trademark insanity? Pratt was denied a room at the Roosevelt, so he had a friend book one, and sans estranged wife Heidi, walked around the premises with a video camera, while dressed up as a methhead mountain man. Totally normal behavior.

Ashley Greene Is The New Face Of Mark

The Twilight train brings a hell of a lot of mileage, and Ashley Greene, Twilight pay raise seeker, is cashing in. Greene is the new face of Avon‘s more affordable beauty and fashion brand “Mark.” She’s taking the reins from Lauren Conrad, whose contract with “Mark” is over soon (er, as is her career?).

Greene gushed in the release, “I am thrilled to join the Mark family. Mark has been on my radar not only because of their great fashion and beauty products, but because the brand inspires young women to feel beautiful inside and out.” A slew of Ashley’s TV and print ads should be out this fall.

The Cover Of Lauren Conrad’s New Style Book Is Awkward

Lauren Conrad may be the only person who got out of The Hills before imploding, but that still doesn’t mean we understand her legitimate career as an author. After she decided to quit her fake-acting career, Conrad started writing novels and now she’s also written a style book. (Seriously, someone needs to stop this trend, how much more can we learn from celebrities about how to dress?)

The cover of Conrad’s book, which is slated to come out in October and is titled Lauren Conrad Style, has just been released and we have to say, we’re seeing about a hundred different things wrong with it, the most ironic being that this is not what Lauren Conrad usually looks like. From the bun on her head to the glam eye makeup to the piercing stare, this is not how we remember her from The Hills. Still, the former fashion student wanted to share her wisdom with her fans and says the book with include “personal stories, live and learn stories,” and “a couple of high school horror stories.” Right, because we didn’t already see those on Laguna Beach.

Will Lauren Conrad Return to The Hills?

But will she want to come back to all the drama? We’ll have to wait and see, but for now, MTV is getting the opinions of the other stars of the show.
