Octavia Spencer Complains About Her Louboutins And 10 Other Great Golden Globes Press Room Moments

There’s a party going on right here at the Beverly Hilton. The Golden Globes truly are a celebration to last through out the year. (Check out our favorite moments from the show!) Dare we say that it might even be the most fun night in Hollywood… EVER. Everyone — press, crew, celebs — is in good spirits, the booze is plentiful, and the emphasis is on having a good time. And everything is so pretty! The Beverly Hilton is a beautiful and iconic spot any day of the week, but there’s something extra magical about tonight’s event. The red carpet actually felt like a living, breathing thing and it. Is. FIERCE.

But the best part of the night was, of course, hearing from the winners, in all their sweet, excited glory. We were stationed in the press room and had the privilege of listening to all their best moments — from the absolutely ridiculous to the downright cry-worthy. We count ‘em down for you below.

  • Octavia Spencer kicking her shoes off in the middle of answering questions, and then delivering this important message: “Christian Louboutin, I love you, but when you have this much weigh you gotta give us a little platform.”
  • George Clooney answering the “Where is Ryan Gosling?” question: “He’s [working] in Thailand. And you know what they do in Thailand.
  • Matt LeBlanc having a “Joey” moment onstage, answering a reporter’s question with “How you doin’?”

Kat Graham, Julie Bowen, Zoe Saldana Are Golden At Globes Kick-Off Party

Let the pre-parties begin! The 2012 Golden Globes will happen in exactly one week, and the celebrations have already kicked in. Audi and Martin Katz held a party in honor of the event at Cecconi’s restaurant in L.A. last night. Out of all the stars that came flocking, we think that Kat Graham, Julie Bowen and Zoe Saldana looked the absolute best. That slash of lipstick on Kat, pictured on the left, is something else, especially when paired with that sheer sequined cocktail frock. Julie, in the center, wore an appliqued, one-shouldered Naeem Khan dress, while Zoe look beautiful in an asymmetrical, halter-necked Jason Wu number. If they keep this up, then we’re really going to have ourselves a red carpet extravaganza at the actual awards show. Tell us which dress you like best in the comments section.

Julie Bowen Ushers In Sarah Hyland’s Hangover On Her 21st Birthday

We’re talking about Sarah Hyland’s second 21st birthday, let’s be clear. The Modern Family actress’ birthday is on November 24 and, as she told Us Weekly, “[This year, I was] like, ‘let’s not celebrate my birthday on Thanksgiving, ’cause Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Let’s eat Thanksgiving food and sleep in [on that day].’ Now, I’m actually celebrating my birthday the right way.”

The “right way” was at Bank Nightclub at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday night where Julie Bowen — Sarah’s castmate and TV mom — ensured that the celebrations went down the “right way” as well. She sent the freshly turned 21-year-old a bottle of Peligroso Tequila. Sarah suggested that the bottle is intact adding, “Even if I’m not planning on drinking for the night and my friends are going out, I don’t have to worry and be like, ‘Well, I can’t go there.’ ” Right, what are the bets that the bottle’s already finished? Happy second 21st birthday, Sarah!

AMAs Best Fashions: From Retro Jenny McCarthy To Futuristic Justin Bieber

Because of their convenient timing, the American Music Awards are the perfect opportunity for the country’s biggest music stars to plug their fall releases as awesome gifts for the holidays. And last night, some of those stars were wrapped up as perfect gifts for our eyes. The style theme of the evening swung back and forth from playfully retro — Katy Perry, Karmin‘s Amy Heidemann and Jenny McCarthy — to starship-ready futuristic — Nicki Minaj, Heidi Klum, Justin Bieber (though his leather number was kind of future-by-way-of-Michael-Jackson’s-Captain-Eo).

While we were dazzled by the choices of Nicki (she’s here twice!), Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Katherine Heigl, we also suffered a bit of whiplash from some looks: Jennifer Lopez‘s many costume changes landed her on our best, worst and questionable lists. Justin Bieber and Katy Perry also straddle the best and questionable lists. Stay tuned for more photos and opinions from last night’s show.

Lea Michele, Julie Bowen: Red Hot Or Pretty In Pink?

YOWZA! Julie Bowen and Lea Michele looked perfect at Michael Kors‘ luncheon benefiting The Saban Free Clinic in Beverly Hills yesterday. They’re both wearing Michael Kors frocks, natch, and we just can’t decide which we like better. Julie’s red, knee-length halter hugs every curve beautifully. Lea’s pink textured mini is young and so fresh! She clearly loved it tweeting, “On my way to an amazing charity event at Michael Kors .. and this dress Mr. Kors dressed me in is fierce!” Bravo, ladies. Can you decide whose dress you like more?

10 Emmy Winners Looking Like They Just Stole An Emmy

Despite being up against super talented and perhaps just-as-worthy candidates in their respective categories at the Emmy Awards tonight, each of the winners pictured below won fair and square (to the best of our potentially naive knowledge). And yet, when photographed in the press room with their just-nabbed golden trophy, Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen (among others) rocked faces of guilt, sneakiness, and paranoia.
What gives, Emmy champs?! Nobody’s gonna still your hardware! See nine very suspicious actors below. [Photos: Getty Images]

TheFABlife’s 15 Best Dressed At The 2011 Emmy Awards

The red carpet at tonight’s Emmy Awards contained very few duds and a whole lot of “dayum!” Underdog and relative red carpet rookie Aubrey Plaza took our crown for Best Dressed in her Juan Carlos Obando white gown and retro fabulous hair. The Vampire DiariesNina Dobrev was a close runner-up in a dramatic, hourglass supreme Donna Karan. Best Actress in a Comedy Series winner Julie Bowen dazzled in an uber deep v-neck Oscar De La Renta and we loved Amy Poehler‘s unique Peter Som navy frock.
Star of tomorrow and Best Dressed honorable mention Kiernan Shipka confirmed she will essentially be a teenager by the time Mad Men returns in an adorable metallic dress and glittery heels. Check out our 15 Best Dressed at the 2011 Emmys below! [Photos: Getty Images]

Is Bradley Cooper Ditching The Crow To Play The Devil In Paradise Lost?

Sounds like somebody wants an image change. Last month, we heard that Bradley Cooper was aching to play The Crow in a rebooting of the undead superhero franchise, and now Variety reports that Cooper is looking to sign on with a 3D adaptation of John Milton‘s epic poem Paradise Lost (you know, that one Donald Sutherland was nattering about in Animal House). Cooper, naturally, would be playing the devil—having already rocked horns as Bill Zebub in a NSFW Stella sketch pictured above, back when Brad was just glad to get a recurring role on Alias (that’s Julie Bowen licking him, FYI).

Paradise Lost will be directed by Alex Proyas, who previously directed Know1ng (which figures) and the original Crow movie that Bradley would be remaking. Considering Proyas called the plans for a new Crow film “ridiculous” in 2009, it’d be impressive if Cooper manages to score such juicy roles with both projects. Then again, far stranger things have happen in Hollywood—like multiple Snow White movies, for one thing.

Five Fashion Disasters At The 2011 SAG Awards

At any award show, for every sartorial winner, there’s always a disaster to balance it all out. The 2011 SAG Awards were no exception. Our 10 best dressed ladies (photos) sparkled, but unfortunately, there was also some fashion fails. Leading the pack was Kim Kardashian, who needs to realize that a lone bedazzled boob is never a good idea.

We’d like to offer this gallery as constructive criticism because we like every single actress on this list of style shame. Especially Jane Lynch, who, as Sue Sylvester, could totally kick our asses. Claire Danes is surprisingly on this list too—and you’ll see why.

Check out the gallery of bad fashion decisions below and tell us what they could have done better. [Photos: Getty Images]

The 20 Best Dressed At The Emmys: From Snoozeville To Sizzletown

best-dressed

Now that we’ve sent ourselves to the slaughter by placing Betty White on our worst dressed list, let’s save face by reviewing the success stories of tonight’s Primetime Emmy Awards. The cast of Glee hit high notes with Lea Michele aiming for full-on drama in an Oscar de la Renta, Jane Lynch in a regal Ali Rahimi, and Heather Morris taking us all by surprise in Ina Soltani. Mad Men‘s Elisabeth Moss emerged from the shadow of her often more glamorous castmates in Donna Karan. Big winner of the night Claire Danes was flawless, while Kim Kardashian was white hot in a Grecian Marchesa.

While all fabulous, the Top 20 Best Dressed induced everything from quiet snores to sweaty palms. See how your favorite boob tube stars ranked below. [Photos: Getty Images]
