Stars Get Their Hipster On At Coachella

Coachella 2011 just ended and as usual, tons of stars were around – both onstage and off – at the music festival. They all wore their best hippie chic gear, as is evident with the likes of Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Vanessa Hudgens (who, we kid you not, wore printed bell-bottoms). Some ladies did represent vintage, like Dita von Teese who looked like a 1940′s pin-up in a sailor hat, and Katy Perry, who went quasi-flapper!

It’s no secret that we have a massive crush on Ian Somerhalder and we’ve resolutely ignored rumors of him and Nina Dobrev dating because IT ISN’T HAPPENING. So him and Nina at Coachella? Casually almost draped over each other? Hanging out with Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger? Just because those two are a couple, doesn’t mean it’s a double date! (Someone hold us while we cry.) Will Olivia Van Der Beek Out-Cute Suri Cruise And Matilda Ledger?

Heartfelt congratulations go out today to James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly Brook, who welcomed baby Olivia into the world a few days ago. Van Der Beek Tweeted about his new baby, writing “Had the blessing of becoming a father over the weekend… Couldn’t come close to describing this bliss even if I had 140 million characters. I apologize in advance for any obnoxiously precious new-dad tweets that may follow. I’m under her spell.”

Olivia is the third girl born into the Dawson’s Creek family – a family which, ironically, has pushed Dawson himself to the wayside because everyone else from that show has blossomed into a megastar. There’s Joshua Jackson‘s success with Fringe and Michelle Williams‘ Oscar nomination for Brokeback Mountain, and, oh, a woman you may have heard of named Katie Holmes who left Capeside to live Cruise-side.

But what of the other Creek kids, Suri Cruise and Matilda Ledger? Will Olivia’s birth mean they’ll find themselves out of work at the Cuteness Emporium? Doubtful, but just as a gentle reminder of what Olivia is up against, let’s take a look at some of their past adorability. Style And Lawn Bowling Abound At Lagerfeld Party

If ever there was an instance of “Stars! They are definitely NOT like us!” this would be it. Karl Lagerfeld threw a garden party this weekend in St. Tropez and all of his beautiful model-type friends came out for it. Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson were there, as were Karolina Kurkova and Vanessa Paradis (known to jealous types as the woman who has her claws in Johnny Depp).

These celebs look stylish, cool and sporty (because what’s a party without lawn bowling?) and proved once again that we just don’t have what it takes rock a fedora hat. These guys definitely do, however.

SPL173917_009 We’ve been obsessed with Diane Kruger ever since Inglourious Basterds, but we love her even more now after seeing these shots of her walking around New York with boyfriend Joshua Jackson. The pair look adorable and totally in love, not to mention the fact that Kruger looks equally enchanted by her ice cream cone. Why can’t we make Ben and Jerry’s look this chic?

Diane Kruger And Joshua Jackson’s Relationship “Comes Naturally”

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson are annoying, if only because in addition to being extremely hot, they are also extremely adorable and cute. It’s not fair that they manage to be so perfect! Jackson won our hearts when he was on “Dawson’s Creek” and Kruger’s breakout role was Helen of Troy in the 2004 film Troy. Now she’s all over the place promoting Inglourious Basterds where she kicks ass in addition to looking gorgeous, in the grand tradition of all Quentin Tarantino heroines.

The couple is low-key though when it comes to their relationship. Kruger explained, “It’s just easy, right? You don’t feel awkward things or you ask yourself questions of ‘what am I going to next week?’ It just flows and I think that’s the good thing.” When asked what her favorite thing about Jackson is, she swooned. “Aw. Everything. He’s the best.”

The couple has been together since 2006, and when asked what their secret is, Jackson explained, “Lots of poets have spilled lots of ink, but so far as it occurs to me, if you’re willing to put in the time and the work, everything else comes naturally.” He’s pretty poetic himself there, too. We don’t normally write much about Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger, mainly because they are a pretty dull couple like to fly under the showbiz radar. But we thought this shot of them at the Friends of New York Annual Spring Dinner Dance last night spoke hilarious volumes.

JJ: Yeah, Mr Photographer, I know. I did try and tell her it wasn’t really working as a look. But she’d spent about 90 minutes in the bathroom getting the fricking outfit on in the first place and she got real mad when I looked at her funny. So I just left it.

Katie Holmes Gets A Surprise Visit From Joshua Jackson

Looks like Tim Gunn wasn’t the only person troubled by Katie Holmes‘ fashion choices! Inspired by miserable pap shots of his ex, Joshua Jackson stopped by the rehearsals for All My Sons to remind Katie that Fringe‘s George Clooney, Jr. wants for her to be happy.

He just decided to drop by. It was really sweet, he just turned up unexpectedly with a bunch of flowers and said: ‘Hello stranger.’ Katie was shocked, but so happy to see him. It was a wonderful surprise. She gave him such a big hug…Joshua made it clear she wasn’t alone…having some friends supporting her who have nothing to do with her LA set-up could make all the difference. Josh would love to see Katie as the carefree and relaxed woman he once knew.

It’s really important for Josh that she’s happy. So he wants her to be with someone, whether it be Dawson or Scientology guy or some man she hasn’t even met yet. He wants her to be with someone who can be part of the life she wants for herself. He wants her to be with someone who makes her feel like he feels when he’s with her. The simple fact that he’s in love with her is enough for him—plus he’s still dating Diana Kruger. [Daily Mail]
