Zooey Deschanel And Joseph Gordon-Levitt Usher In The New Year With A Song

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are pretty adorable separately, so when you put them together it’s like an explosion of cuteness. (500) Days Of Summer was clear evidence of that. And there’s this now. The actors teamed up to sing “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” on a little homemade video for Hello Giggles, the blog Zooey co-founded. She’s on the ukelele, he’s on the guitar. She’s wearing a tiara and what has to be a fab dress, since Zooey was one of our 30 Best Dressed Celebrities of 2011. He’s pretty devastating in a suit, and they both can carry off a tune. If we didn’t love them so much, we wouldn’t be able to stand them. They maybe sitting down in this video, but we know they can also bust a move. Remember this video?

Zooey also wrote a little note accompanying the video that read, “I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since. When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he’s simply the best. But in the meantime, we made a little New Year’s duet for all of you!” Now sit back, press play and enjoy the serenade.

2012 Golden Globe Nominees’ Least Award-Worthy Moments: Mickey Mouse Club To She-Devil

As soon as the 69th annual Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, industry folks like Variety began noting how many movie stars (as opposed to fancy ahctorrrs, we guess) are nominated: George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling aren’t exactly slouches in the acting department, but they don’t turn their noses down at a good romantic comedy heist film either. On the other hand, the more we think about it, the more we think maybe they should have turned down a few gigs. Well, no regrets, Meryl and Glenn and Leo. You turned out OK. Just forgive us for laughing with you at some of the skeletons in your closet/IMDb page!

Will Channing Tatum Replace George Clooney In The Man From U.N.C.L.E.?

Steven Soderbergh’s big screen adaptation of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is missing its star now that George Clooney has bowed out due to health concerns. Fresh out of surgery, George isn’t sure he’s up for all the fancy footwork the film will entail, so now a whole host have young hunky actors are being considered for the lead role in the film of the television classic. Perhaps the most serious contender is Channing Tatum, who acted in Soderbergh’s latest film, Magic Mike. Although no formal offer has been made, Steven is very interested and could pull the trigger any day, according to a report in Deadline. Other actors up for consideration include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ryan Gosling, Joel Edgerton and Alexander Skarsgard. Who do you think should star? Let us know in the poll below!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Serenades You With A Little R. Kelly

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is your boyfriend. Okay, not in reality, nor even in semi-reality like Scarlett Johansson (allegedly), but you do think the 50/50 star is adorable. Willing-to-sit-through-Premium-Rush adorable, which is something. The only question remaining: is it more adorable to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt sing in French, or to hear him serenade you with R. Kelly‘s “Ignition(Remix),” which he covered while visiting OSU recently. Take some time and consider it. Forget all that other stuff that comes to mind when you think about R. Kelly. Focus on the smoothness of the jams, and the adorableness of JGL. The answer will come to you.

Hollywood Film Awards Gala Gives Stars A Good Excuse To Look Hot

Last night, we covered the Hollywood Film Awards gala wearing an Old Navy dress and some chunky boots from three seasons ago. Luckily the A-listers with whom we chatted on the red carpet have impeccable taste — and skilled stylists — and posed in outfits worthy of the #1 spot on every best-dressed list on the Web. Michelle Williams (recipient of the Hollywood Actress Award), Emma Stone (honored with the cast of The Help), Carey Mulligan (Hollywood Supporting Actress Award), Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Elle Fanning were all working it last night, making us drool with envy over their dresses. And guys like Tom Felton, George Clooney and the always adorable Joseph Gordon-Levitt, suited up and smiled for the cameras too. The event, held at the iconic Beverly Hilton, is the unofficial kick-off to awards season, and the stars brought their A-game last night. It’s gonna be a long four months of parties, press, drama and dresses galore. We.Cannot.Effing.Wait.

We’ve got out favorite looks — and behind the scenes moments — in the gallery below.

Item Alert: Scarlett Johansson And Joseph Gordon-Levitt?

Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have hooked up, according to Us Weekly. The mag claims that the two had dinner at Hundred Acres in NYC’s SoHo area in late July. It gets interesting, though, when they present eyewitnesses who say they saw Scarlett and Joe making out last month in New York again, revealing, “They were kissing. They were very lovey.” The actors initially met as they were discussing working on a film together but as another source explains, “It’s gone beyond that now.” We’re going to hold off on ringing the “new couple” bells for now until we hear more stories about them. This sounds like a good ol’ make-out, if anything. Which is also very cool because now we have some cause to call them ScarJoe.

Did I Do That? From Sitcom Kids To Grown-Up Stars

Why can’t the world let Jaleel White be great? The man formerly known as Urkel complained to People today that he feels limited by his sitcom past. “I’m very versatile, but somehow I didn’t earn the tag of being called a versatile actor,” the former Family Matters star says. “I’m still chasing that one Vanity Fair tag that says, ‘This guy’s a versatile actor.’ I accept it. It’s fine. But for me, it’s like what do I have to do to get that [acknowledgment]?”

Luckily for White, those different and exciting roles could still be just around the corner! Your career doesn’t have to end when those highwaters get too tight to wear! Check out our gallery of sitcom kids, from Leo DiCaprio to Raven-Symone to Sarah Jessica Parker, who successfully made the transition from adorable youngsters to adult film and television stars. And hey…don’t lose the faith, Jaleel.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Is Handsomeness On A Stick At 50/50 Premiere

Damn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. We knew you back when you were just the kid from Angels In The Outfield, and we weren’t impressed with you or your doubled-barreled last name. Then you morphed into that awkward teen on Third Rock From The Sun, and we laughed at your pony tail. More recently you shifted into geeky girl-getter in 500 Days Of Summer, and we hated you for reminding us of every failed romance we’ve ever had. But now at New York’s 50/50 premiere last night, you’ve somehow entered into the Don Draper Den of Ridiculously Handsome Dudes. We never saw it coming. Well done, sir. Although co-stars Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick didn’t look too bad themselves. Check out more in the gallery below!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Makes Your Ex’s Job Look Cool In Premium Rush Trailer

Joseph Gordon Levitt’s Premium Rush trailer sure makes your ex-boyfriend’s career path seem way cooler than it actually was. It makes being a bike messanger seems more like being an international spy, except with no health insurance and no protection against the rain. Also…isn’t having no breaks in a city filled with opening cab doors just seem, well, foolish? Though what do we know; we aren’t accidental daredevil biker spies, now are we?

Costarring The Hangover Part II‘s Jamie Chung, the movie has the Dark Knight Rises actor charged with a very important, extremely mysterious package…that Gordon-Levitt must guard with his life. Seriously, was this film made by the Bike Messenger Association of America? That’s the only explanation for how awesome they make delivering packages look. UPS needs to look into film making, state.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Sings To You In French

Had you forgotten about the romantic possibilities offered by The Dark Knight RisesJoseph Gordon-Levitt? Does Joseph Gordon-Levitt singing in French during a tribute concert for French singer Serge Gainsbourg help refresh your memory? It’s all coming back to you now, right?

Gordon-Levitt unleashed his Parisian growling at the Hollywood Bowl Sunday night, along with other performers including Beck and Sean Lennon. While this video perhaps not quite as hot as Bradley Cooper speaking French, that’s only because Joseph has to read his lines out of a notebook. And also because we watched 10 Things I Hate About You last week and now can’t help but recall Gordon-Levitt as a prepubescent teenage nerdlinger. Ugh, we just ruined this video for ourselves. Go now! Enjoy the French-ening while you still can, before you remember how adorable he was on 3rd Rock From The Sun!
