Baby No. 2 For James Van Der Beek

Didn’t this photograph make you turn into mush? James Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly have a second baby due, so the family shots are going to get even cuter. The couple already have one daughter — pictured above — named Olivia who is just over a year old. She now has a little brother or sister on the way. James tweeted the news just a couple of hours ago, writing, “Just when we thought we couldn’t feel any more blessed, it seems the universe has plans to give our daughter a sibling…” Congratulations to the Van Der Beeks!

Celebrities Roll In For The Hangover Part II Screening And After-Party

They all came in droves to watch the The Hangover Part II! And by “they” we mean every type of celebrity. The supermodels showed up—Selita Ebanks and Alessandra Ambrosio. The fashion designer showed up—Calvin Klein. Even figure skater Johnny Weir turned up! The screening was held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City, with an after party at The Top of The Standard.

The cast—Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianaki —held court with director, Todd Phillips. They were probably quite pleased with the mixed bag crowd who showed up, including the likes of Zach Braff, James van der Beek, Ciara, Ivanka Trump and Russell Simmons. For the full 411 on who was there, check out our gallery below.

James Van Der Beek To Play James Van Der Beek As Lines Of Reality Blur

Further proof that the wall between our world and the worlds of our high school fantasies is crumbling (we already mentioned Joshua Jackson once today!), James Van Der Beek will play himself in Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apt. 23, a new ABC pilot featuring the Dawson’s star as the lead actress’s best friend. According to Deadline, James will play “James Van Der Beek, a heightened version of himself in the vein of Neil Patrick Harris‘ stint in the Harold & Kumar movies.” Even more bizarrely, the role was originally intended for Lance Bass…who would play have played Lance Bass. Are all of our school girl crushes showing up just to pull us down into pop culture madness (except for Lance because even we know that ship has sailed)?

While Van Der Beek is reportedly sought often for dramatic shows during pilot season, James has been upping his comedic profile recently with a guest spot on How I Met Your Mother and the delightful site James Vander Memes. Van Der Beek joins such actors as Matt LeBlanc and his new show Episodes who are so strongly associated with one role, seeing them play themselves is a novelty. Man, if Chad Michael Murray and the older brother from Phenom get shows where they play themselves, then we’ll know for sure that we’ve completely lost it.

Will Olivia Van Der Beek Out-Cute Suri Cruise And Matilda Ledger?

heidi klum 3 270510

Heartfelt congratulations go out today to James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly Brook, who welcomed baby Olivia into the world a few days ago. Van Der Beek Tweeted about his new baby, writing “Had the blessing of becoming a father over the weekend… Couldn’t come close to describing this bliss even if I had 140 million characters. I apologize in advance for any obnoxiously precious new-dad tweets that may follow. I’m under her spell.”

Olivia is the third girl born into the Dawson’s Creek family – a family which, ironically, has pushed Dawson himself to the wayside because everyone else from that show has blossomed into a megastar. There’s Joshua Jackson‘s success with Fringe and Michelle Williams‘ Oscar nomination for Brokeback Mountain, and, oh, a woman you may have heard of named Katie Holmes who left Capeside to live Cruise-side.

But what of the other Creek kids, Suri Cruise and Matilda Ledger? Will Olivia’s birth mean they’ll find themselves out of work at the Cuteness Emporium? Doubtful, but just as a gentle reminder of what Olivia is up against, let’s take a look at some of their past adorability. Oh, and just because it’s amazing, we’ve included our favorite photo of Joshua Jackson wrangling his girlfriend Diane Kruger off a Segway before she runs over Sharon Stone.

Another One [Tree Hill Marriage] Bites The Dust

young victoria 3 041209

One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer is divorcing husband Johnathon Schaech after one month of marriage. While normally, a month-long marriage is news in itself (hey, we have piles of dirty laundry sitting at home that are older than that), the fact is, this is the latest in a long line of One Tree Hill actors whose nuptials weren’t cut out for the long haul.

Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush who both appear on the show were married for just five months. James Van Der Beek appeared on the show in 2009, the same year he and his ex-wife Heather Ann McComb called it quits. Hilarie Burton was divorced in 2008 (although she has been involved with Jeffrey Dean Morgan since last year and just had a baby with him). Paul Johansson divorced in 2005. And special guest star Kevin Federline who appeared on the show in 2008 might just be the most famous divorceé of all.

Is there a divorce curse on this show or what? It sure seems like it. The same way people kept dying and creepy things would happen on the set of The Exorcist, One Tree Hill seems cursed to bring mayhem to all those around it (er, ok, maybe just divorce lawyers). To the rest of the cast and any future guest stars of this show, don’t say we didn’t warn you: you might want to consider a pre-nup to go with your acting contract.

Robin Thicke “Loves” Michelle Trachtenberg’s Rapping

When the video of Michelle Trachtenberg spitting Robin Thicke‘s single “Shakin’ It 4 Daddy” made its rounds on the Internet last week, we were surprised to discover the “Gossip Girl” has some skills on the mic. Admit it, she’s not half bad — especially for a spontaneous rap being shot by James Van Der Beek while driving through the Holland Tunnel. We were also surprised to learn from our VH1 News friends that even Robin Thicke loves Michelle’s rapping. Could we please have a Michelle Trachtenberg cameo on his next track? Someone start a Facebook or Twitter campaign for this. STAT!

Dawson Dumps His Wife

James Van Der Beek

James Van Der Beek - the man who made young girls swoon in the late 90′s as sensitive filmmaker Dawson Leery on Dawson’s Creek – is finally single, again. The actor, age 32, has split from his wife of six years, Heather McComb. The pair apparently separated a couple of months ago but, “it was totally amicable and they remain good friends,”says his rep.

Could this mean that we’ll see the Beekster (yep, it’s an awesome new nickname we just created) hitting up L.A. hot spots and canoodling with barely-legal starlets? If it’ll help his floundering career get back on track, we bet yes! [People. Photo: WireImage]
