Let’s give the British Academy of Film And Television Arts awards show its due, people. Yes, we know the Grammy‘s were on yesterday, but the BAFTA’s are a pretty big deal too! And can we just say how pleased we are that Colin Firth won best actor for The King’s Speech! Actresses Line Up For The Dark Knight Rises Auditions
Hey, do you think there are any actresses who’d like to be in the sequel to the biggest non-James Cameron movie ever? Casting for The Dark Knight Rises is well underway, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing a shortlist of the ladies auditioning for roles in the film. While no one’s saying if previously featured parts like Catwoman, Poison Ivy or Vicki Vale are making a return to the franchise, word is Talia, daughter of Batman Begins baddie Ra’s Al Ghul and enthusiast for skin-tight body suits, is going to play a part in Rises. If there’s another part available, we’re guessing its Sexy Villainess In Tight Clothing or Sexy Gainfully Employed Woman In A Frustrating Relationship With Bruce Wayne.

Prince Of Persia Star Gemma Arterton Marries
Some people are lucky enough to play princesses but also get fairy tale endings in real life. Actress Gemma Arterton has got with Daniel Craig and Jake Gyllenhaal on screen in the Bond film Quantum of Solace and Prince of Persia respectively. And she just married her Italian fiance Stefano Catelli in a dreamy little Spanish village called Zuheros in Andalucia.
She arrived at the hill-top wedding in a strapless, flowing cream gown, with a long veil, carrying a bouquet of trailing white roses. Sigh. And the newly-married couple drove off in a vintage open-top car. Double sigh.
Arterton had recently said, “It was absolutely instant. I remember going home the night after I met him and writing in my diary that I’d met the man I’m going to marry. I gave that diary entry to him for his birthday two weeks later. But it didn’t freak him out, because he was thinking the same thing. I just really want to spend the rest of my life with him. He’s an amazing man.”
The Bond girl is quite vociferous in general. She revealed how hurt she had been about criticism that she had put on weight saying, “I went to a designer the other day – who will remain nameless – and he said to me: ‘I’m amazed that you’re fitting into these sample sizes.” Her reply? “I’m a size eight to ten! I should be amazed that the largest you’re making these is a size six.” ‘Nuff said.

Lily Allen Is GQ‘s Woman Of The Year
Yep, we’d go with that. Lily Allen picked up the award from Britain’s prestigious men’s mag GQ at their annual awards last night in London – in a ceremony that also gave gongs to Guy Ritchie for Film-Maker of the Year (guess we’re all assuming Sherlock Holmes is going to be good already) and Mickey Rourke for International Man (because picking up twenty-somethings in clubs is an achievement when you’ve done that to your face).
The star-studded bash was attended by lots of celebs including Eva Mendes, Gemma Arterton, Elizabeth Hurley and Kelly Osbourne – although Lily chose to celebrate her win with a totally sober bash at Claridges Hotel with Kate Moss later on. The two Brits beat out a host of other high-profile names — including Sienna Miller, Michael Fassbender and Natalie Portman — to bag the parts in the Emily Bronte adaptation.
