Star Watch: Immortals Premieres In L.A.

The whole cast of Immortals came out to play at the premiere of the film, held yesterday in L.A. Freida Pinto was murderously chic in a metallic, textured Antonio Berardi gown. Henry Cavill, the lead in the movie, wore a suit that barely contained his Superman physique. Isabel Lucas looked slender and very pretty in a Roksanda Ilincic dress while a suited-up Kellan Lutz held on tight to new girlfriend, Sharni Vinson.

Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Mickey Rourke and Joseph Morgan rounded off the cast. Joseph, FYI, plays our favorite new badass vamp on The Vampire Diaries and his co-star Claire Holt was at the premiere, as well. Also spotted were 50 Cent, Nia Vardalos, Estella Warren, Audrina Patridge and Kristin Cavallari. Browse the gallery below to watch them strut their stuff on the red carpet.

The New Immortals Trailer Makes Us Squee!

Is anyone else totally feeling Henry Cavill? ‘Cause we are in spades. Which is a really good thing considering he has two huge roles lined up. The first, as we know, is Superman. The second is a film we’re itching to watch — Immortals. Watch the trailer to see why we’re champing at the bit. Cavill plays the legendary hero Theseus and can we also get a woot for Freida Pinto, who’s working her high priestess role? One question begs to be asked — does Cavill spent most of the movie shirtless? Or is that just the art of smart trailer-ing. Because if so … Bravo!

Stars On The AmFar Cinema Against Aids 2011 Red Carpet

This is the life! The eighteenth annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala took place yesterday at the Cannes Film Festival. The super schmancy event was held at the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France and involved the usual — gowns and jewelry worth approximately three of our lifetimes! Kirsten Dunst showed up looking as fresh as a daisy, completely unaffected by the rumor that her nighttime partying kept Brangelina up all night.

Janet Jackson looked pretty svelte and rocked some bright blue nail polish! Irina Shayk showed up with a slit cut up till there, while cuties Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto snuggled up for the cameras. Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani added a bit of punk to the proceedings while old hands Goldie Hawn and Brooke Shields looked flawless in dull gold and white respectively. WTF Were They Thinking? The 12 Worst Dressed Stars At The Met Gala

Here they are — our picks for the absolute ugliest, WTF-iest and just way off outfits at tonight’s Costume Institute Gala. The annual event — held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and hosted by Vogue and Anna Wintour — is arguably one of fashion’s biggest nights, and it always amazes us that so many people get it SO.WRONG. Kirsten Dunst! Riri! These are the gals we look to for inspiration, but their outfits, hair and shoes just blahhhh-ed tonight. Christina Hendricks normally wins every time she walks the carpet, but this outfit looks like something she dug out of a dumpster and smeared on her body. Naomi Campbell should throw her rhinestone-covered Blackberry at herself for this abysmal showing (Do we spy a scrunchie?!), Ashley Olsen‘s arms are sleeved in 100% fail and Freida Pinto is going to have to nail it on every red carpet for the rest of the year to make us forgive and forget this hipster douche tie monstrosity.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Trailer Full Of Serious James Franco, Apes

With Your Highness and his Oscar hosting gig big flops, it’s good that James Franco is getting back to the quality dramatic work that has separated him from the other Judd Apatow-born goofballs. In the trailer for this summer’s Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, James plays a serious doctor who’s discovered a serious drug that allows “the brain to repair itself,” with his serious pronouncement “we call it…the cure” followed by one of those dramatic foghorn whomps from the Inception trailer. Though fellow Danny Boyle vet Freida Pinto is worried, James tells her the drug “has the potential to change lives” (whomp) and goes on to “the next phase” (whomp). Unfortunately, the drug makes all the test apes smart, and “our greatest discovery” becomes “our greatest threat.” Whomp.

So far the reaction from fans has been “yeah, but we’ve got guns,” so hopefully there’s some explanation in the film why we can’t just shoot all these damn dirty apes before they take over the Earth and ruin things for Charlton Heston. Either way, if there’s more awesome The Birds-style shots of apes patiently waiting to crush some human like in the trailer, this should be a lot of fun even if serious James Franco is serious throughout.

Freida Pinto has had a life-changing year, going from Indian model to international film star, L’Oreal ambassador, one-half of the cutest celebrity couple going and now, life saver. Freida was out shopping in central London with her Slumdog Millionaire co-star and boyfriend Dev Patel when fan ran up behind them. She accidentally knocked the stranger into the road by turning around, but – shazam! - then turned into SuperFreida and leapt in front of an oncoming car to pull the woman to safety.

“Afterwards, Freida made sure the woman was okay. It was quite a shock for all, especially Freida and the fan,” an eyewitness reported. What a star! Next time, Freida rescues some adorable puppies from a fur-coat loving witch and stops some evil developers from knocking down the kids’ favorite local club. We think. [Photo: WENN]
