Stars Style Up For Metropolitan Opera Premiere

Who knew there were so many gorgeous Rossini fans out there? The Metropolitan Opera’s premiere of the composer’s Le Comte Ory paid host to lots of lovely ladies last night, including Olivia Munn, Claire Danes, Emmy Rossum and Claudia Schiffer, as well as haggard hipster icons Lou Reed, Patti Smith and Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, who may want to reconsider the “matching circular sunglasses” look, among other things. Are all these people big opera fans or do they just like to show off their style at classy soirees? Either way, we’re not complaining.

Emmy Rossum Slips Some Nip For Esquire

Well, it’s not full nip, but it’s more of Emmy Rossum than we’ve ever seen. Come to think of it, we’re not sure we’ve ever even seen Rossum act so it’s the most we’ve ever seen of her ever. Rossum appeared in this month’s Esquire magazine in their Funny Joke From a Beautiful Woman column (because everyone knows beautiful women only have one joke — it’s ugly girls who are the real comedians), and in addition to telling a mildly dirty joke, she also shows off her goods. Emmy Rossum And Adam Duritz Break-Up Wasn’t A Big Deal For Them Either

Oh damn, looks like we missed one. Emmy Rossum says that she and Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz split…two months ago. How did she keep it quiet this long? It must have gotten lost in the Hollywood Nuclear-Breakup Pile under Christina and Jordan, Courteney and David, Eva and Tony, Billy Ray and Tish, Miley and Liam, etc. Sorry about that, guys. To apologize, here’s a sensationalized breakup post of your very own!

OK, it actually looks like it’s pretty amicable. Emmy spoke to USA Today’s Olivia Barker last week and casually mentioned that she and Adam have stopped seeing each other several months earlier. However, the actress maintained that she is “still very close friends” with her ex. The two started dating in September of 2009, despite Adam being over twenty years her senior. This isn’t the first time that Emmy has kept her private life under wraps. She was secretly married to music producer Justin Siegel for eighteen months in 2008.

A private life that is actually kept private? Remaining friends with her ex without any mud-slinging in the press? Not even one tiny law suit?! How rude! Didn’t she consider us poor entertainment writers? Maybe you don’t deserve a scandalous breakup post, Emmy!

Not that we could blame Braff for making a move on the Phantom Of The Opera star if the opportunity arose—anyone who’d date Counting Crow Adam Duritz in the last year is obviously fair game for a sensitive Scrub like him. Among the stars with better things to do than “ooh” at completely innocent celebrity candids were Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rev Run, Kevin Bacon and Sarah Silverman, who moderated a debate on the very serious matter (climate change, not whether Zach Braff was looking for action). If Whitney Port is bothered by a lawsuit alleging another designer did most of the work on her “Whitney Eve,” she did a good job hiding it at the Ecco Domani Fashion Party in NYC last night, mingling with Emmy Rossum and 30 Rock‘s Katrina Bowden. Emmy Rossum Met Adam Duritz On Twitter

How 2009! The new way to find romance, according to starlet Emmy Rossum, is on Twitter. That’s how she found her new beau, singer Adam Duritz. “I was on tour with the band this summer. They invited me actually on Twitter, she said. “That’s how we met – on a dare. They dared me to come sing with them a song I’d never sung before. So I ended up on tour with the band, and it was very, very fun.”

Emmy is being much more public with this relationship than with her last: her marriage to Justin Siegel which ended in August, which she kept very secret. “It’s hard to have a private life and keep it private and hope that people don’t pick you apart,” she said. Jennifer Aniston Sings At Broadway Benefit

While we hate to imagine it was the highlight of the night, Jennifer Aniston‘s rendition of “Yellow Submarine” was apparently one of the most memorable moments from last night’s 24-Hour Play event on Broadway, which raised money for the Urban Arts Partnership. Aniston and her pals acted out 6 10-minute scenes that were written, cast and performed within a 24-hour period. Apparently a bit of a date night, some of the couples attending included Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore, Naomi Watts & Liev Schreiber, Emily Blunt & John Krasinski and David Cross & Amber Tamblyn. While fashion-forward fellows like Jon Bon Jovi and James Franco attended last night’s 26th Annual Night Of Stars in NYC, we couldn’t help but notice all the famous ladies flying solo for Fashion Group International’s prestigous award ceremony. Emmy Rossum was there without Adam Duritz, Gwen Stefani without Gavin Rossdale, and even Iman left David Bowie at home. Dita Von Teese and Evan Rachel Wood—Marilyn Manson‘s ex-wife and the then-teeanger he left her for—managed to hit the carpet without making it any redder.
