The Costume Designers Guild Awards Get A Little Loud

Anna Paquin, Emily Blunt and Mona May

Was last night Hot Mess Night and no one told us? While the Character Approved Awards were confusing passerby in NYC, the Costume Designer’s Guild Awards was bringing the noise in Beverly Hills. Ladies like Anna Paquin, Emily Blunt, Kristen Bell and Anna Kendrick—not to mention fashion-forward fellows like Eddie Izzard and Alan Cummings—were on hand to celebrate those who keep actors looking great on screen. While you’d expect such stylists to make a big impression on the carpet, some—we’re looking at you (and quickly looking away), Mona May—might have been trying a little too hard. See who wore what in the gallery below.

Benicio Del Toro Scares Us At Wolfman Premiere

Benicio Del Toro

Grr! Benicio Del Toro bared his claws for the premiere of his new movie The Wolfman yesterday in LA. While it could be argued the Academy Award winner looked a little scary clomping around and hiding his bloat behind an oversized suitjacket, the one-time Sexiest Man Alive contender was less likely to make you jump out of your seat than just wonder when the guy last got a good night’s sleep. You know how people are always noting that male stars don’t get as much crap as women in Hollywood? Here’s a chance to rectify that situation. Hit the gym and preserve that sexy, Benny! CGI can’t save you every time.

(Some) Stars Skip Super Bowl For Yet Another Award Ceremony

Michael Stuhlberg, Saoirse Ronan, Emily Blunt and Carey Mulligan

While there were tons of celebrities at the Super Bowl this weekend, it’s still trophy season in Hollywood and a handful of stars stayed back Sunday for the 2010 Virtuoso Awards, part of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Among the select few who signed the giant vodka bottle were The Young Victoria’s Emily Blunt, An Education’s Carey Mulligan and Saoirse Ronan of The Lovely Bones (awkwardly, of these actresses, only Mulligan is in contending for an Oscar next month). Viral videos aside, Quentin Tarantino outed himself as a less than faithful football fan by attending a director’s roundtable alongside The Hangover’s Todd Phillips, PreciousLee Daniels and those Academy-bound exes Kathryn Bigelow and James Cameron. What, none of these nerds cared about the Saints at all? Get a closer look in the gallery below.

Haiti Telethon Lineup: RPattz Added And Just About Every Other A-lister, Too

robert-pattinson-hope-for-haiti

When news broke that George Clooney’s Hope for Haiti Now telethon would airing Friday at 8PM EST on VH1, MTV and just about every channel on your television set, scant details were available as to which celebs would be involved in the show. But that didn’t stop us from starting our Official Hope For Haiti Now Telethon Lineup guessing game. We’re happy to report that our initial list is shaping up to be remarkably accurate (Anderson Cooper’s involvement doesn’t count because he’s a newsman who sometimes acts like a celebrity, not an actual celebrity).

Performing at the Hope for Haiti Now telethon: Bono, Jay-Z, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Shakira and many others who have yet to be announced. There will also be no shortage of A-listers either speaking or manning the phones to take donations, according to E! Online. So if you’ve ever wanted to ring Jennifer Aniston or Jon Hamm late one lonely Friday night, this may be your one and only shot. Also participating are Jake Gyllenhaal, Brad Pitt, Colin Farrell, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, Renee Zellweger, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Gabby Sidibe, Chris Pine and Emily Blunt.

As for Robert Pattinson, he’ll be hosting the London segment of Hope for Haiti Now. Clooney and pals will be based at the show’s headquarters in Los Angeles while Anderson Cooper reports from Ground Zero in Haiti. Performances will take place in L.A., New York and London.

The Hottest Awards Season Accessory: Golden Globes

golden-globes

Tonight the Hollywood Foreign Breast Press Association recognized actors and filmmakers at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Tinseltown’s sexiest were on the red carpet, including Halle Berry, Christina Hendricks of “Mad Men,” and PreciousMariah Carey. But we hardly noticed their designer gowns, gigantic jewels, and flawless makeup, because we were too busy focusing on that other enormous accessory of the evening: their, uh, globes. Plunging necklines were abound tonight and we’ve got photographic evidence. Warning: lovely ladies lumps and bumps ahead. [Photos: Getty Images]

Critics’ Choice Movie Awards: Top 10 Hottest Red Carpet Looks

hottest

There were a lot of hot looks at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and it was no easy task narrowing down the best of the best. Still, we managed to wade through all of sartorial options that Hollywood presented us and we narrowed it down to our ten favorites.

10.

anna-kendrick

Anna Kendrick’s long black dress had a beautiful silhouette, but what really wowed us was the elegant back detail and frilly bottom. We love her polished ponytail too, which gave the look a fun, youthful touch.

9.

monique

We love the detailing along Mo’nique’s neckline, but her other accessory (that would be a Best Supporting Actress statue for Precious) is pretty stunning too. Her look is polished and that dress fits her like a glove. This is one of the more understated outfits Mo’nique has worn on the red carpet, and we love it.

Top eight looks after the jump!

EXCLUSIVE: It’s Anything Goes As Adam Lambert, Sarah Silverman Take Critics’ Choice Stage

adam-lambert-sarah-silverman-critics-choice

The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards isn’t known for drama. It’s known for its uncanny tendency to predict Oscar winners. That’s why Adam Lambert and Sarah Silverman presenting an award together at the show might feel like a wolf pack of two casing a herd of fenced-in sheep. Need we remind you that “Good Morning America” recently cut an upcoming Adam Lambert performance after his same sex AMAs kiss? Remember Sarah dissing both Paris Hilton and Hollywood at the MTV Movie Awards? Now we have two of America’s most provocative mainstream personalities on the same  stage at the same time talking to a captive group of Hollywood’s elite. And we haven’t even mentioned that Tracy  Morgan is also presenting!

Additional higlights of the show: Nick Jonas & The Administration will serve as the Critics’ Choice house band; special tribute will be paid to recently deceased director John Hughes by John Krasinski, Amy Poehler and Death Cab for Cutie, which will perform “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” from “The Breakfast Club”; and Kevin Bacon will be presented with a philanthropic award by no less than Meryl Streep. Additional presenters include Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Emily Blunt, Cedric the Entertainer, Bradley Cooper, Rob Corddry, Abbie Cornish, Josh Duhamel, Zac Efron, Vera Farmiga, Heather Graham, Ed Helms, Samuel L. Jackson, Ken Jeong, Tobey Maguire, Amy Poehler, Craig Robinson, Zoe Saldana and Susan Sarandon.

Hosted by Kristin Chenoweth, Critics’ Choice will air live on VH1 Friday, Jan. 15 at 9:00PM ET. Check back here as we live-blog the show with our partner sites, including AOL’s Moviefone, The Envelope, The Huffington Post, BestWeekEver and fashion experts Refinery29. 10 Movies To See In 2010

movies_2010

The New Year is upon us, and while resolutions and wishes are abound, we’re wondering what’s brewing in the world of cinema. Anticipation is already sky-high for the third film of The Twilight Saga and the first half of the final film of the Harry Potter series, but what else is waiting in the wings? We’ve got Angelina Jolie in a wig, Megan Fox in a corset, and an uber buff Jake Gyllenhaal.

Here are 10 movies worth your $12.50 + popcorn in 2010.

The Wolfman: February 12th

Benicio Del Toro has been holding out on us! Typically attracted to critic-friendly films (Traffic, Things We Lost in the Fire, Che), Del Toro gets horrific for Valentine’s Day weekend in The Wolfman, starring as the legendary moon-hatin’ monster. Critics’ Choice-nominated Emily Blunt plays his fur-lovin’ love interest and always-great Anthony Hopkins co-stars as Del Toro’s father.

Alice in Wonderland: March 5th

Tim Burton + Johnny Depp. Do we really need to say more? Previous collaborations of the eccentric duo include Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This fantastical gothic version of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale is sure to be visually stunning and over-the-top. Naturally Johnny Depp is The Mad Hatter, while Australian actress Mia Wasikowska snagged the role as Alice. Burton’s wife Helena Bonham Carter plays the part of The Red Queen with Anne Hathaway as The White Queen. Other highlights include Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar and Michael Sheen as The White Rabbit. Can you feel our excitement?

Eight more movies to see after the jump!
