Lindsay Lohan Up For Elizabeth Taylor Movie That Will Probably Never Happen

Lindsay Lohan is rumored for the lead role in Lifetime’s upcoming Elizabeth Taylor film Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story, according to Deadline, but let’s just say we’re not stocking up on popcorn, Kleenex and Snuggies just yet. Well, we’re not buying any more of them, that’s for sure.

Because let’s be real for a second, shall we? In 2011 alone we heard rumors about Lindsay’s starring role in Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story (no, no, not that Linda Lovelace movie), her potential turn as her mafia doppleganger Victoria Gotti, her aspirations to play Charles Manson victim Sharon Tate, and Stephen King’s desire to see Lohan covered in pig’s blood for a potential Carrie remake. We all want to see that pig’s blood thing happen, but so far absolutely none of these projects has ended in screen time for Lilo. Sadly, if Lohan appeared in even half the films she gets mentioned in connection with, her career would look completely different … and much less depressing. So would Lindsay’s trophy case, though by “her trophy case,” we of course mean “the back of Dina Lohan‘s toilet.” As it stands today, Lindsay’s last three films were Machete (2010), Labor Pains (2009), and… and … and I Know Who Killed Me (2007). Oh, girl.

Kim Kardashian Shells Out $65K For Elizabeth Taylor’s Jewelry

Serious bling aficionados didn’t factor in one very important element into acquiring the late Elizabeth Taylor‘s jewelry at an auction at Christie’s in New York City — Kim Kardashian. TMZ reports that the hybrid-reality star has dropped $65,000 for three jade and diamond Lorraine Schwartz bracelets that belonged to that star. That is pocket change as compared to what the record-breaking auction cashed in on the whole. They made an incredible $116 MILLION. Kim was seriously in awe of Dame Liz and even interviewed her for Harper’s Bazaar shortly before she passed away. Interestingly enough, the first question Kimmy asked her was, “You are my idol. But I’m six husbands and some big jewels behind. What should I do?” In a few short months, Kim’s made progress on both fronts, so she’s well on her way.

Kim Kardashian And Kris Humphries Join The Short Marriage Club

Looks like Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kris Humphries is now official. “After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” Kim said in a statement to E! News. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.” Meanwhile, new hubby Kris sounds a lot less thrilled about the announcement, saying in a statement, “I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce … I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.” They still had that new marriage smell, too!

While Kim and Kris might be ready to sign those divorce papers only 72 days after their nuptials, they are nowhere near the first celebrity couple to bail out of their wedded bliss just weeks or months after walking down the aisle. From Mario Lopez to Britney Spears, Liz Taylor to Lisa Marie Presley, let’s look back at our favorite shortest Hollywood marriages:

Martin Scorsese To Direct Richard Burton/Liz Taylor Biopic?

If Elizabeth Taylor lived to see this…it probably wouldn’t be happening. Following a bidding war spurred by the legendary actress’ death, Deadline reports that Paramount Pictures has optioned Furious Love, the popular book chronicling the relationship between Taylor and two-time husband Richard Burton. Martin Scorsese is set to direct the film—which will avoid the standard biopic structure to focus solely on their relationship. No casting announcements have been made, though you can bet the competition will get hot if Scorsese’s officially signed.

This isn’t the first time Scorsese’s taken a look back at old Hollywood—on top of 2004′s Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator, Scorsese is set to direct a film on the life of Frank Sinatra, ironically after trying to make a film about Dean Martin with Tom Hanks for years. With the Sinatra film still in pre-production and his two-monks-in-Japan epic Silence still allegedly in the cards, there’s no promise this film is any more certain to arrive than Scorsese’s aborted Theodore Roosevelt film with Leonardo DiCaprio. But unless you think the director’s time would be better spent getting one last mobster epic out of Robert DeNiro, it’s something to look forward to!

Colin Farrell Discusses His Little-Known Friendship With Elizabeth Taylor

Colin Farrell and Elizabeth Taylor struck up an unlikely friendship in the year before she died, and the two became so close that Farrell actually recited a poem at her funeral this weekend, and he was the only non-family member to participate in the service. When Farrell was asked how he became close to the Hollywood legend, he told Access Hollywood “How did we become friends? You know, the old story of boy meets girl, and boy pesters girl with too many phone calls at inappropriate hours of the night.”

“I was just lucky enough to become her friend in the last year and a half. I adore her… still.” Farrell added. The feeling was mutual, because Taylor swooned over Farrell in one of her last interviews (given to Kim Kardashian, of all people), published in Harper’s Bazaar. Taylor said Kardashian “I love Johnny Depp, and I love Colin Farrell—both brilliant, nuanced actors with great range.” Taylor also reportedly requested Farrell’s participation at her funeral, which was held at the Forest Lawn Cemetary near Los Angeles. Farrell said he felt “sad and honored” to participate in her memorial service.

‪Elizabeth Taylor Revealed James Dean Molestation Secret‬ Prior To Her Death

As we might have suspected, Elizabeth Taylor couldn’t even spill a secret without being a fabulous diva about it. In 1997, reporter Kevin Sessume interviewed Taylor for POZ Magazine about her HIV/AIDS advocacy work; Taylor in turn confessed to him that James Dean was molested as a child…before swearing her interviewer to secrecy for the rest of her life. “I loved Jimmy. I’m going to tell you something, but it’s off the record until I die. OK?,” Taylor reportedly said about her co-star from the 1956 film Giant. “When Jimmy was 11 and his mother passed away, he began to be molested by his minister. I think that haunted him the rest of his life. In fact, I know it did. We talked about it a lot. During Giant we’d stay up nights and talk and talk, and that was one of the things he confessed to me.” The actor later passed away in 1955, prior to the film’s release.

“I love trusting. I get hurt very easily. I am tough when I have to be. I can will myself to back away from an oncoming train. I can spin on a dime. I have led a very strange life,” Liz explained in the same interview. Apparently part of that strange life included entrusting a near-stranger with a tragic bomb-shell secret, which he then had to keep hushed up until the time of Taylor’s death. And that reporter did it too, since it’s Elizabeth Taylor we’re talking about.

Zsa Zsa Gabor Hospitalized After Being Told Of Liz Taylor’s Death: “I’m Next”

Woah, who knew that celebrities believe in the rule of threes. Representatives for Zsa Zsa Gabor confirmed that the 94-year-old actress was hospitalized with raised blood pressure after she learned of the death of friend Elizabeth Taylor. “Zsa Zsa said celebrities go in threes and I’m next,” said (ninth) husband Frederic Prinz Von Anhalt to Radar, who helpfully noted that Jane Russell died in February.

“She was inconsolable and her blood pressure shot up to dangerous levels,” said the representative. “The doctor told [von Anhalt] to bring her into the hospital so they could medicate and watch her.” While Zsa Zsa’s certainly had her share of medical issues recently—part of her right leg was amputated this year—we’re glad to see that she hasn’t lost the dramatic spirit that helped her allegedly slap a police officer for pulling her over in 1989. Break the chain, Zsa Zsa!

79 Reasons Elizabeth Taylor Was The Fiercest Bitch On Earth

After battling severe health issues for many years, Elizabeth Taylor died today at 79 years old from congestive heart failure. 8 marriages, 7 husbands, 4 children, over 50 films, 1 very special charity and friendships with every luminary to walk the planet. In other words: She was the Queen of the Fierce Bitches.

Here are 79 reasons that is true.

Hollywood Legend Elizabeth Taylor Dies At 79

Two-time Academy Award winner Elizabeth Taylor died in LA today at the age of 79, after being hospitalized for hospitalized for congestive heart failure in February. “She was surrounded by her children – Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd and Maria Burton,” said a publicist. “My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love,” said Michael Wilding.

Though frail and frequently ill throughout her life (she famously almost died before winning her first Oscar for 1960′s Butterfield 8), Taylor wound up surviving five of her seven husbands (Conrad Hilton, Michael Wilding, Michael Todd, Eddie Fisher and Richard Burton). Elizabeth Taylor Denies Engagement Rumors

Elizabeth Taylor & Jason Winters
Even in our wacky world of celebrity romance, some news is too crazy to be true. Elizabeth Taylor resurrected her Twitter (last used to call out haters of Kathy Ireland‘s Pre-Oscar show: “When is someone going to stop the yellow press from lashing out at people who no more deserve it than the Dalai Lama!”) to dismiss rumors that she was marrying manager Jason Winters. “The rumors regarding my engagement simply aren’t true,” Dame Liz tweeted, “Jason is my manager and dearest friend. I love him with all my heart.”

While Taylor’s list of ex-husbands is legendary (Winters would have been her eighth—ninth, if you count Richard Burton twice), it was hard to believe the wheelchair-bound 78-year-old was really planning to make it official, especially since she’d already dismissed the idea with a legendary “noooooooooooo!” in 2007. Besides, who could hope to follow her last husband, construction worker Larry Fortensky! Once you’ve had Fortensky, you know that’s the end-sky.
