Justin Bieber’s DNA Test Reveals … He Doesn’t Quite Get Letterman’s Joke

Mariah Yeater‘s lawyer Jeffrey Leving said she’s eager to have son Trystan’s DNA tested and compared to Justin Bieber‘s, though Leving told TMZ that he’s got a problem with the fact that none of his client’s team was present when Bieber was tested on Friday. Justin’s still not worried, and he was comfortable enough to joke with David Letterman about it in a pre-taped interview to air on tonight’s Late Show.

“You were man enough from the beginning, you said, oh yeah? That’s not true and I’ll take one of those DNA tests,” Letterman said. “What’s the procedure? Are you unconscious?”

“No, they just swab your mouth!” the 17-year-old laughed. But then came a reveal that has us worried about the singer: (more…)

What Is Ashton Kutcher Doing To Himself?

Waddup Ashton Kutcher? We’re a bit confused by your behavior here. You’ve got a new show which gives you trailers like this one, so we can only imagine your pay check. You’ve also got a supremely hot wife who looks like this in a bikini. Life is good for you, man. So why did you show up at the Late Show with David Letterman in New York yesterday looking like a scruffier version of Pee-Wee Herman? You’re also 33, remember? Still young. And when you clean up, you can look pretty damn fine. Let’s bring that Ashton back — whaddayasay?

Lady Gaga Takes Letterman, NYC In Her Jacket And Panties

“I only liked the jacket,” Lady Gaga told David Letterman last night about the outfit above, “so I decided that was all I would wear.” The Born This Way singer made a terrific debut on the Late Show couch, making Dave blush by complimenting his tie and inviting him to her egg (“you could be the yolk”), promoting college education (while admitting they can’t “teach you how to ride disco sticks”) and capping the interview by chewing up his notes (“you’ll be sick for weeks…you won’t be out of the egg for month!”). Hopefully Madonna wasn’t too threatened when Dave said Gag should come back more often!

The lady wore variations on her pants-less outfit all day, visiting with fans at Best Buy and prancing in and out of her hotel…usually wearing even less than she did for her Late Show spot. See photos of Gaga’s manic Monday in the gallery below.

Heavy Celebrity Traffic At The Late Show With David Letterman

Yesterday, the studio audience at The Late Show With David Letterman got quite a treat. A bevy of stars rolled in to get their time on camera with Dave, including Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Radcliffe and Kelly Ripa. Jennifer — freshly brunette for her role as The Hunger Games’ Katniss — looked absolutely glorious in a curve-skimming blue dress with a skinny orange belt by Altuzarra. The 20 year old actress is also poised for the release of X-Men: First Class which is going to hit theaters on June 3.

Kelly might be two decades older than Jen L, but her body doesn’t show it. She showed it off in a very sexy back baring black dress. And then there was Daniel, who we adore, period. He was there to perform Brotherhood of Man from his Broadway show, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. How could you not love the guy? Apparently, the trio caused quite a fan frenzy outside the studio, which we would have been more than happy to be a part of!

Kate Hudson Flaunts Her Baby Bump Outside Letterman

Kate Hudson‘s engagement ring and baby bump made an appearance on The Late Show yesterday, not long after her glowing appearance on Today, where Kate first showed off the rock from babydaddy Matthew Bellamy of Muse. The Something Borrowed star appeared to be in good spirits, wearing a flowing white dress and coat into the studio, and slipping out in the short black one she’d worn for David Letterman. The host candidly noted during the interview that she was having a child with “another musician” (son Ryder was from her marriage to Black Crowe Chris Robinson), though it was hard to tell if he was giving a grandfatherly tongue cluck or just amused. See more photos of Kate and her kid-on-the-way in the gallery below.

James Franco Explains His Low-Energy Oscar Hosting To David Letterman

James Franco has been criticized plenty for his Oscar-hosting gig with Anne Hathaway earlier this year, and after all the digs about his energy not matching up to Hathaway’s, his Tweeting from the stage, and the possibility that he was high, he’s finally responding to critics.

Franco was on The Late Show With David Letterman and discussed his hosting with Dave, who has hosted the award show himself and is familiar with the gig. The segment airs tonight, but in this video, you can get a preview of Franco defending himself from the critics and telling Dave “People said I was under the influence. I’ve thought about it. I think I know why. I love her, but Anne Hathaway is so energetic, I think the Tasmanian Devil would look stoned standing next to Anne Hathaway.” After defending himself a bit more against the hatorade, Letterman says to Franco, as only Letterman could, “Let me ask you a question. What the hell do you care?” Exactly. It’s been over a month, let’s all let it go!

Lindsay Lohan Denies She’s Doing Letterman: Dad To Blame?

We’re sure Dina‘s available, though! The Late Show issued a statement taking back that Lindsay Lohan would deliver a Top Ten list this week after the actress denied it on Twitter (“I am NOT going to be doing David Letterman, I’m not sure how this happened, but I am sorry for the confusion…”). “We made a mistake. Someone purporting to be a friend of Lindsay’s reached out to the show yesterday, allegedly on her behalf, and booked her to appear,” said the show’s rep. Anyone claiming to be a “friend” of Lindsay Lohan should be a red flag, guys—we’re pretty sure she has no real friends.

“Clearly, this person was not authorized to make commitments on her behalf. We wish Lindsay well, and look forward to having her on the show in the future.” Lohan has been on the show a couple times before, but not since promoting Georgia Rule in 2007. Letterman certainly hasn’t been too kind to her in monologues since those relatively innocent days, so we’re not surprised she wasn’t aching to return. Now Michael Lohan tells TMZ he was the “friend” in question—who could have guessed, right? Michael says LiLo was excited until her reps found out. “Anything positive that I bring into her life,” he said, “they try to nix it.” Considering the District Attorney’s office wants Lindsay in prison, heading to NY to make jokes about her court case might not be the best idea.

Justin Bieber Gives Mom Some Love After Letterman

Hopefully the Bieber freaks won’t be infuriated by this lady getting some affection. Justin Bieber gave mother Pattie Mallette a hug and a smooch while leaving the Ed Sullivan Theater after his Late Show appearance last night. Bieber was in good spirits throughout, bonding with fellow Canadian Paul Shaffer and tweeting Letterman, who in turn ripped on Bieb’s manager Scooter Braun (“30 is too old to be calling yourself Scooter”) and asked the teen star if he was married yet. “Like like like like…um..like..like. lol,” Bieber tweeted after watching his “like”-filled interview. “#laughatyourself …it makes life more fun.” Bieber will be back on the show Friday to drum with the band, but for now check out the gallery to see the guy pay respects to the mom that got him there.

Steven Tyler’s Drug Addiction Involved Lunesta-Snorting

david letterman show 170111

There’s a reason that Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were once called the Toxic Twins. The pair was known for legendary drug use, and Tyler admitted to David Letterman last night that he was using drugs as recently as 2009, and not just any drugs. Tyler says he was crushing and snorting the prescription sleep aid Lunesta which he used for a “foot problem.” Because he wanted his feet to fall asleep, we guess?

Tyler jokes about how ridiculous it all sounds to Letterman and how his Lunesta-snorting led to him falling off a stage at a show in 2009. Tyler says “It’s not any news here about my drug use in the past…So a couple years ago, I was doing Lunesta because of some problems with my feet. I was snorting that, I fell off the stage.” DOING Lunesta! Hilarious. He continued “That shows you what kind of a drug addict I was…only the finest for me…I was looking for any excuse to get high.” An incredulous Letterman laughs throughout, asking the questions on all our minds “Is Lunesta good for your feet?” and “When you snort it does it have some kind of different reaction with the body chemistry than when you swallow it?” (Answers: No and Yes.) We assume that now that Tyler is going to be on American Idol twice a week now, he’s got a reason to stay sober—if he falls off the Idol stage he has a much bigger audience watching.

Letterman, Leno Put Aside Beef For Best Super Bowl Commercial Ever

Okay, maybe it wasn’t the best ad ever, but certainly the best of this year’s Super Bowl (sorry, talking babies). Dave Letterman got his frenemy, Oprah Winfrey, and his enemy, Jay Leno, to join him for a hilarious “Late Show” commercial, proving that adults can put their differences aside for the sake of commercial success.

According to “Late Show” producer Rob Burnett, the ad was Letterman’s idea, and Oprah and Jay eagerly hopped on board. Last week, Jay was shuffled into the Ed Sullivan Theater wearing a disguise (so no Conan O’Brien fans would stone him, probably). Says Burnett, “We snuck him through the front door on Broadway. Jay wore a disguise …a hooded sweatshirt, dark sunglasses and a mustache. Fifteen minutes later, Oprah arrived … but not in a disguise.”

Amazingly, both Jay and Dave were good sports about the whole thing. When Jay first heard the idea he apparently said, “This is the way show business should be,” and Burnett swears that “there was no frostiness” in the room. Well played, gentlemen. You’re adults after all! For a few minutes, anyway.
