Rooney Mara Rocks That Corpse Bride Look At The Dragon Tattoo Premiere

How much of a coup would it have been have been for Rooney Mara to show up alongside Daniel Craig at today’s premiere of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo in London with a deep tan, blond highlights and frilly pink cocktail dress? We all knew that wasn’t going to happen, of course; Rooney seems committed to radiating “vaguely sociopathic computer genius” on the red carpet as well as on the big screen, this time with an icy white lace cut-out gown. On one hand, it’s not a bad dress. On the other hand, does everything she wear have to be cold and edgy to match her upcoming role? Either way we bet Rooney is dying to slip on something pastel or a pair of Uggs just as soon as the film is released next Wednesday. We can just see it in her eye…brows.

How Does Ryan Gosling’s Teen Sitcom Compare To Other Embarrassing Celeb Roles?

There’s a lot of potentially humiliating stuff going on in Ryan Gosling‘s Breaker High, the Canadian sitcom that helped launch the Drive actor’s career in 1997, back when he was just a hunky teen. Between Ryan’s faux-Brooklyn accent, the insanely flamboyant hockey coach, and the fact that the show revolved around a high school located on a cruise ship, it’d be understandable if Ryan wanted to toss all copies of this show into the Atlantic and never look back. But really, is it any worse than any other early embarrassing celeb role? From Jack Black to Jennifer Aniston to Renee Zellweger, plenty of A-listers have had to take some Z-list roles when they were starting out. If you had to chose one from our humiliating list (and you do!), which cringe-worthy part do you think is the most regrettable?

Javier Bardem Is The New Bond Bad Guy

Oh, oh, this is turning into a film we’re definitely not going to miss! As it is, we think that Daniel Craig is the most delicious James Bond ever since Roger Moore (sorry, Sean Connery). It’s a given that we’ll be watching him take on the role in each successive film. But really sealing the deal for us is this news: Javier Bardem is going to play the villain to Bond’s just-about good guy in the next film! The 23rd James Bond flick is rumored to be titled “Skyfall“.

Apparently, it was down to Bardem and Ralph Fiennes to bag the bad guy’s role, but it seems the Spanish actor won out in the end. He was on ABC’s Nightline recently, and revealed, “I am very excited, my parents took me to watch the movies, and I saw all of them, and to play that is going to be fun. They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details.” We think he’s going to make a terrific villain! Do you?

New Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Trailer Looks Amazingly Creepy, Deeply Swedish

Eerie. Unsettling. Swedish. Yup, the new trailer for “the feel bad movie of Christmas” is definitely keeping our interest piqued. Less bizarre and artistic than the first sneak-peek, the new Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer delves deeper the plot of the upcoming David Fincher remake (aka murder, hacking, and the creepiest all-blonde family you’ll likely ever meet). The new footage also showcases more of the girl herself Rooney Mara, who we…kind of like more than the original movie’s leading lady Noomi Rapace? Rooney’s protagonist seems more like an actual badass person than your stereotypical tattooed robo-hacker (you know the kind), though can we really tell that from a handful of trailers? The point is: as long as this film has Daniel Craig, terrifying wealthy Europeans and massive explosions, which it does, then you know we’ll be seeing it opening night.

Dream House Trailer Seems Like A Bad Omen For Daniel Craig And Rachel Weisz

Now that we’ve seen Dream House trailer, we have a lot of questions about how Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz ended up getting together after meeting during filming. In the incredibly spoiler-y trailer, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star plays Will Atenton, an understandably confused man who may or may not have killed his entire family, including wife Libby…who played by Craig’s now-wife Weisz. Oh, also she and his children might be ghosts. Or hallucinations. Either way, something horrible has happened to them. Naomi Watts guest stars!

Look, we know that on-set romances happen all the time, and true love comes into your life when you lease expect it, and yadda yadda yadda, but do you see that wallpaper turn all old and peeling when the little girl’s hand passes over it ? Seriously, was Daniel Craig writing his love notes in serial-killer mirror writing, because that is where our mind immediately went.

Even Daniel Craig Horrified By The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

If the upcoming film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo can make a stoic like Daniel Craig squirm, the rest of us are going to be shrieking into our popcorn buckets. “It’s as adult as you can possibly make it,” Craig tells Esquire about working on the movie with Rooney Mara and director David Fincher. “This is adult drama. I grew up, as we f—ing all did, watching The Godfather and that, movies that were made for adults. And this is a $100 million R-rated movie. Nobody makes those anymore. And Fincher, he’s not holding back. They’ve given him free rein. He showed me some scenes recently, and my hand was over my mouth, going, Are you f—ing serious?” Let’s see: murder, torture, elderly Nazis, assymentical haircuts. Yup, we can feel that scream rising in the back of our throats right…now.

Even creepier, the Cowboys and Aliens star, newly married to Rachel Weisz, says it’s those moments we don’t see that are more off-putting than even The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer would suggest. “It’s not that he simply showed me footage that was horribly graphic,” Craig reveals. “It was stuff that was happening, or had happened. And somehow you don’t see it. There’s more than one way to sense violence. Much more powerful ways than seeing it step-by-step.” Hope the ushers are prepared to drag us out of the theater in hysterics. We should probably warn them beforehand: we’re biters.

Cowboys And Aliens Are The Peanut Butter And Chocolate Of Action Flicks

We know what you’re thinking: cowboys fighting aliens? However, the same thing must have been said of the first person who mixed chocolate and peanut butter together. Now we have Reese’s peanut butter cups, and the world would cease to function if they somehow ceased to exist. Based on a comic book series by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, the Cowboys And Aliens trailer seems to ponder the age-old question: what if alien invaders tried to take over the Wild Wild West? Given that it stars Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig and a fresh-from-Tron Olivia Wilde, we’re assuming no creature is going get away with any probing without losing an arm…or a tentacle.

However, don’t feel like you know what’s going to happen just because you’ve seen E.T. and True Grit back to back. Earlier this month director Jon Favreau says the Cowboys And Aliens plot twists are very deliberately going to be kept from the audience. “They tend to be more intrigued by something that holds a sense of mystery, where you feel like you are getting to experience something new and not just fulfilling a check list of the trailer that you saw when you go to see the movie,” Favreau says of potential moviegoers. The only genre mash-up we’d like better then this one would would be a zombie movie mixed with, oh, we don’t know, a romance set in 19th century England. Oh wait, that’s already coming out in 2013!

James Bond Wears Drag For International Women’s Day

Unfortunately, David Craig wearing drag for International Women’s Day isn’t an ad for The Best James Bond Film Ever Made. What would that movie be called anyway? The Lady Spy Who Loved Me? The Living Highlights? Live And Let Diane? In reality it’s a promo for EQUALS, a group of organizations supporting International Women’s Day on March 8. “For someone with such a fondness for women, I wonder if you’ve ever considered what it’s like to be one,” Judi Dench playing M intones, after reciting a devastating list of inequalities between the sexes. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star proceeds to saunter out in a wrap dress and sensible heels, and let’s be honest. He has an enviable figure.

Wigs off to Craig for being man enough to wear fake bosoms, but we’re not exactly sure where the Bond part comes in. Is it James Bond or Daniel Craig supporting women? What does it mean that he pulls off his hair and becomes a man again at the end? Where did he buy those earrings? “Are we equals?,” Dench asks as Craig walks solemnly away. Whether he’s 007 or just an actor with fantastic calves, we have to say, it’s nice to see that Daniel Craig says yes.

Javier Bardem To Join Daniel Craig In Bond 23—Kim Kardashian, Too?

We don’t usually get worked up about James Bond films. (It’s hard to when they have stupid names like Quantum of Solace — what does that even mean?? We still have no idea.) But admittedly, we’re excited for the 23rd film in the Bond series because it was just confirmed that our favorite Spaniard Javier Bardem has been offered a role, starring opposite our favorite Brit, Daniel Craig. The hotness, it is exploding our brains.

While a title for the latest film is unknown and a plot is still under wraps, it would be safe to say that Bardem is likely being tapped to play a very hot, very bad man. The film is scheduled for release in November 2012. Someone else who wants in on the Bond franchise (and, given this casting, we don’t blame her) is Kim Kardashian. Yes the girl with zero acting chops is looking to dive headfirst into Hollywood and told E! this weekend “I would love to be in a Bond film – a Bond Girl! That would be the ultimate.” Kardashian said she’s fielding some offers right now, but if anyone can rock a bikini and have sex on film, it’s her. We just hope she doesn’t get typecast.

Rachel Weisz To Join Lover Daniel Craig In The Next Bond Movie?

Rachel Weisz & Daniel Craig

Well, it would certainly bring the film some attention. According to Grazia Magazine, the fact that Rachel Weisz is canoodling with Daniel Craig hasn’t taken her out of the running for his upcoming return to the James Bond franchise. “Rachel has been speaking with Sam for some time now about appearing in the new Bond film, long before she and Daniel hit it off.” Funny, usually when two stars end long-time relationships and hook up, it’s on set—not during development.

Whether they actually take PDAs to the screen, it looks like they may be getting serious. The mag also says she’s leaving NY (where she lived with now ex-husband Darren Aronofsky) and moving back to England. “She loves her life in New York but she desperately misses England, and is keen to reconnect with her roots there. But most importantly she wants to be there to support Daniel.” Maybe she doesn’t want to see him smooching someone else as Bond!
