Clint Eastwood’s Family Getting A Reality Show For Some Reason

Kim Kardashian, meet Francesca Eastwood. You guys are going to have a lot to talk about soon, if rumors that Clint Eastwood’s family is shooting an E! reality show prove to be true. TMZ reports that Clint’s wife, Dina, 18-year-old daughter Francesca and 14-year-old daughter Morgan will star. The show will reportedly focus on Francesca’s burgeoning acting career, so … keep it clean, Kim. These kids don’t need to know every page in the Kardashian playbook just yet. You know the pages we’re talking about.

Producers are planning for the show to air early next year. When not filming Oscar-winning films (or J. Edgar. Ba-zing!), Clint himself will stop by for a fatherly cameo. Wow, you shoot a show that contains Clint Eastwood and you make him the Bruce Jenner? For shame, E! For shame.

Leonardo DiCaprio May Direct Someday, Says Clint Eastwood

We caught up with Clint Eastwood at the LACMA Gala in his honor this weekend and asked him if Leonardo DiCaprio, star of Eastwood’s new movie J. Edgar, might follow in his directorial footsteps someday. After all, don’t you think Leo would kick some serious ass behind the camera? Clint, an iconic actor-turned-director, charmed our pants off by complimenting our outfit, and then offered up this tidbit about a future Director DiCaprio: “A lot of actors, myself included, like to move to to that thing. … I think he would like to try it someday.”

Sounds promising! Clip above.

J.Edgar Premiere Brings Out Slimline Leo DiCaprio

Whatever weight Leonardo DiCaprio put on for his role in J. Edgar has already been worked off. We’d like the number of his trainer, please? He walked the red carpet for the world premiere of the film, held yesterday at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, looking slick and streamlined in a black suit and silver tie. Complementing him was Naomi Watts, who shimmered in a plunging sequined gown. Director Clint Eastwood didn’t seem too happy to face the cameras, but he did bring two of his children — actors Alison Eastwood and Scott Eastwood — who seemed quite comfortable amid the mayhem. There were also a host of other familiar faces spotted at the premiere. Armie Hammer, who also has a strong role in the movie, came with his beautiful wife, Elizabeth Chambers. Hilary Swank, Ed Westwick, Liev Schreiber (who accompanied wife Naomi) and Jennifer Love Hewitt all gave great red carpet face. Make sure to check out our gallery for all the action.

First Glimpse Of Leonardo DiCaprio In Action As J. Edgar Hoover

We’ve been looking at the photographs for months. We’ve heard Armie Hammer talking about that smooch. With the trailer release of J. Edgar, we finally get to see what all the fuss is about!

The biopic, set mid-century, explores the life of the former head of the FBI and also addresses his allegedly being gay. Anything with Leonardo DiCaprio in the titular role, Dame Judi Dench as his mom, and Clint Eastwood directing screams Oscar contender to us. Do you agree?

Babyoncé Might Hold Up Production Of A Star Is Born

While Beyoncé’s pregnancy might have made our hearts explode in a collective burst of multi-colored tuxedo jackets, it also means it might be awhile before we see Beyoncé in A Star Is Born, Clint Eastwood‘s musical remake the often-rebooted film from 1937. The most recent version of the movie would be the 1976 film starring Barbra Streisand, and wait a minute…not only is she currently growing a tiny adorable person inside herself, but we just realized that Beyoncé is the new Barbra. It’s only Monday, but we do not see how this week could get any better for this woman.

While Eastwood was allegedly hoping for a February 2012 start, the arrival of Baby Hova will likely push back filming, unless the movie’s screenwriters can come up with an explanation for why Bey’s character would be holding a laundry basket in every scene. Oh, maybe she works at a laundromat. That wasn’t that hard. The delay might work out for the best anyway, seeing as how Leo DiCaprio, Clint’s first pick for the male lead, is opting not to do the film. Other names that have been bantered around include Christian Bale and Will Smith. Personally, we’re going to go ahead and suggest Jay-Z for the role, and then just subtly tweak the movie’s premise into being one giant, star-studden episode of A Baby Story. We’d all be on-board with that, right?

Leonardo DiCaprio Plays J Edgar Hoover In A New Movie

We like seeing this side of Leonardo DiCaprio, all dapper and retro. These photo’s were taken on the set of his new movie J.Edgar which is being filmed in L.A. We can already feel the 2012 Ocsar buzz off the Clint Eastwood directed biopic on J.Edgar Hoover’s life. Check out the rest of cast—joining Leo will be Dame Judi Dench, Naomi Watts, Armie Hammer, Josh Lucas and Ed Westwick.

The movie’s going to deal with the life of Hoover—Leonardo’s role—who was the first Director of the FBI. He was considered a controversial figure and dogged most of his life with rumors of homosexuality and cross-dressing, which the films going to deal with. Playing the role of Clyde Tolson, Hoover’s alleged lover, is Hammer, who reveals there are quite a few love scenes between the two telling E!, “It’s not a kissing scene—it’s a ton of kissing scenes.” And he’s totally stoked sharing screen space with DiCaprio, saying, “He’s a talented actor. I’m not nervous or afraid of it being awkward. The script is great. The scenes are in there for a reason. I’m really excited…Yeah, you heard that, Leo? Pucker up!”

We love it! But what we’re probably going to love even more is seeing Westwick trying to apply his Gossip Girl Chuck bitchface in another role. [Photos: Splash News Online]

FABLife’s DVD Pick Of The Week

Invictus

A black man becomes president in a country which has suffered under white rule. He’s expected to make sweeping changes to right the imbalance caused by years of racial intolerance. Instead, he urges forgiveness and keeps some of the detested hallmarks of the old regime. How can the president instill hope in a broken people? The answer in director Clint Eastwood‘s award-winning drama is to promote the sporting achievements of South Africa’s rugby team. Mostly white and unloved by the black community, they face a crucial test in the 1995 World Cup. The president, of course, is Nelson Mandela. Morgan Freeman invests him with the necessary dignity and captures the political edge un-dulled by 27 years in prison. After years of voiceovers and second banana roles, it’s great to see him take center stage. Blonde Matt Damon is the captain of the Springboks rugby team, who needs some convincing about Mandela’s reforms. Invictus may lack the stirring musical montages of Rocky IV, but this smart sporting movie is very satisfying entertainment.

Extras: The Blu-Ray/SD combo offers two “making of” featurettes and a music trailer.

Beyonce And Madonna Added To “Hope for Haiti” Telethon

beyonce-madonna-hope-for-haiti-telethon

Now that Beyonce and Madonna have been announced as performers, is there anyone left to add to the Hope for Haiti Now lineup? Kanye West seems plausible, but allegedly his mouth is too big. Lady Gaga is another possibility, but she’d probably distract people from donating by wearing a diorama of an earthquake scene on her head.

In addition to performances by Madge and Bey, more than 100 of the “biggest names in film, television and music” will be on hand to either perform, speak or answer phones. We’ve already listed out most of the big names, but there are some notable additions that have just been announced: Haitian artist Emeline Michel, Clint Eastwood, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks and Will Smith with Muhammad Ali. The event will air Friday at 8PM EST on VH1, MTV and just about every other channel on your TV. Brace yourself for the biggest telethon in history, and don’t forget to have your wallet on hand.

Official press release after the jump.

Brad & Angie Take Maddox To Invictus Premiere

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Maddox Jolie-Pitt

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie brought their oldest son Maddox to the LA premiere of Invictus last night. The couple rarely get to take the kids along to their own films—what with all the sex and violence and everything—but pals Matt Damon and Clint Eastwood‘s a new film about courage, human rights and soccer in South Africa that was just perfect for a family night out. Also attending were Michelle Monaghan (looking packed in the back thanks to her drapey dress) and the ever-informal Kenny Chesney, who could have been mistaken for a barrier-breaking fan standing next to the dapper Morgan Freeman.

With its prestigious pedigree and positive message, Invictus has a good chance of scoring a trophy or two at the Critics’ Choice Awards this January. See more of the stars in the gallery below.
