Claire Danes received the Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ 2012 Woman of the Year at Harvard University yesterday and had herself a ball through the event (even though she’s a Yale girl!). You only have to consider the photograph above of her sitting in a Bentley convertible, driving through the streets, to know that’s not hyperbole. She won the award because of her “indelible mark on the world of entertainment, in both drama and comedy.” Jason Segel is the Man of the Year, and his ceremony goes down next week, on Friday, February 3. You know that’s going to be a blast. We’ve normally viewed Claire as quite sedate having only her red carpet behavior as the benchmark, so it’s awesome to see her cut loose like this. Click after the jump for another wacky picture from the ceremony. (more…)

The Golden Globes Back Story: 20 Of The Sexiest Backs On The Red Carpet
Swooping cowls, cut-outs, drapes, racer-backs, sheer lace work … Golden Globe gowns were as sexy from the back as they were in front this year. Whether it was Lea Michele‘s sheer silver Marchesa to co-star Dianna Agron’s and Evan Rachel Wood’s avian-inspired, red-hot lacy Giles Deacon dress and Gucci Premiere emerald gown, respectively —- the back is officially back. A couple of other favorites include a Glee actress again. Naya Rivera stunned in a silver Vera Wang gown which had a lovely keyhole back. We also truly appreciated the back view of Kathleen Robertson’s Maria Lucia Hohan dress, Stacey Keibler’s stunning Valentino, Kate Beckinsale’s Roberto Cavalli and Heidi Klum’s sexy Calvin Klein. Click through our gallery for the all the different looks and let us know what you think.

Stars Style Up For Metropolitan Opera Premiere
Who knew there were so many gorgeous Rossini fans out there? The Metropolitan Opera’s premiere of the composer’s Le Comte Ory paid host to lots of lovely ladies last night, including Olivia Munn, Claire Danes, Emmy Rossum and Claudia Schiffer, as well as haggard hipster icons Lou Reed, Patti Smith and Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, who may want to reconsider the “matching circular sunglasses” look, among other things. Are all these people big opera fans or do they just like to show off their style at classy soirees? Either way, we’re not complaining.

Celebrities Walk The 13th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards Carpet
Never ever diss the wardrobe department. So when they have an awards show, you put on your best dress, your sharpest suit and attend. At the 13th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, held at the swanky Beverly Hilton hotel, the stars did just that. We’d also like to pack Kellan Lutz in our suitcase and take him everywhere with us. The Twilight star wore the hell out of a suit, making us unabashedly drool over our keyboard.
We’ll have to say that no one could hold a candle against Halle Berry, though. The actress looked better than we’ve ever seen her (and that’s no mean feat) in a gorgeous deep pink — some blogs say red, but it looks pink to us — Elie Saab gown. Kristen Davis came a not-so-distant second in an unusual retro ivory and black polka-dotted Oscar de la Renta. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore put on a united happy front, and the actress rocked it, as usual, in a blue strapless number.

Five Fashion Disasters At The 2011 SAG Awards
At any award show, for every sartorial winner, there’s always a disaster to balance it all out. The 2011 SAG Awards were no exception. Our 10 best dressed ladies (photos) sparkled, but unfortunately, there was also some fashion fails. Leading the pack was Kim Kardashian, who needs to realize that a lone bedazzled boob is never a good idea.
We’d like to offer this gallery as constructive criticism because we like every single actress on this list of style shame. Especially Jane Lynch, who, as Sue Sylvester, could totally kick our asses. Claire Danes is surprisingly on this list too—and you’ll see why.

Who Took Home Trophies At The 2011 Golden Globes (And What Was Up With Nat Port’s Laugh)?
Did you forget to watch the 2011 Golden Globes this evening? Well, aside from missing out on Ricky Gervais committing career hara kiri in front of an audience filled with Hollywood’s biggest power players, you missed a whole bunch of acceptance speeches with varying levels of grace and aplomb.
Before we get into the tonight’s full list of winners, we would be remiss if we didn’t call attention to Natalie Portman’s bizarre laugh. As TheFABLife buddy Molly Lambert over at This Recording noted on Twitter, Portman’s guttural guffaw sounded a lot like Charlene Yi in Knocked Up. Practice your laugh game before the Oscars, girl!
And now, for the winners…
The Globes Through Rose-Colored Glasses

From sweet pink to peaches ‘n’ cream to fiery red, the hottest actresses at the Golden Globes were sporting variations of the same hue. Megan Fox, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, and Lea Michele were pretty in pale tones while Mad Men stars Christina Hendricks and January Jones were bright cherry bombshells. Check out more shades of red below, including those of Claire Danes, Sofia Vergara, Julianne Moore, Edie Falco and Naya Rivera. [Photos: Getty Images]
TheFABLife’s 50 Hottest Fashion Moments Of 2010

Is it just us, or do there seem to be more and more televised award shows each year? That means one thing (and it has nothing to do with awards)—there’s more red carpet fashion than ever. When we compiled our list of favorite fashion moments from 2010, we had quite a crop to choose from. Gone are the days where the only shows worth mentioning were the Emmys, Grammys and Oscars. This year’s style compilation comes to you courtesy of the Creative Arts Emmys, the SAG Awards, and even the ESPYs. Oh, and a couple dozen film premieres, too. Check out who made our cut for best dressed celebs of 2010 in the gallery below—including just about everyone from Mad Men, a very GOOP-y celeb we love to hate, and the most famous half-vampire couple ever.

The Ultimate Fashion Victim Gallery: Stars Before They Had Stylists…Or Style

Before the stars were stars, they were normal people trying to make a living. Every penny they made was spent on rent and food, not stylists and clothing. That’s why it’s so awesome to see celebrity before-and-after shots: getting a glimpse of what J.Lo looked like with crazy eyebrows or when Alec Baldwin was just a sliver of his current self. We wanted to honor some of our finest actors and performers by going back in time—back to when no one could bother to get their clothes tailored, they were too cheap to use anything but boxed hair color, and the word “stylist” didn’t even exist in Hollywood. Some of these people are a victim of the era from whence they came, but others have no excuse. The important thing to remember: these people had a choice about how to dress, and these are the outfits they chose. The awkward, tragic outfits they chose.

Claire Danes To Star In First TV Series Since My So-Called Life

15 years after Claire Danes let My So-Called Life producers know she wanted to focus on movies (scuttling their hopes for a second season), the actress is headed back to TV land. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Danes will star in the upcoming Showtime series Homeland—oh, you knew she was headed for pay cable—playing a CIA agent “battling demons” and dealing with POWs from Iraq who may know more than they’re saying. The show will be run by two vets from 24, so she may spend more time torturing suspects than she did on the old show (where sniffling was Angela Chase’s preferred mode of getting results).
With her performance in the HBO movie Temple Grandin winning an Emmy last year—and recent theatrical releases like Me And Orson Welles, Stardust, The Flock and Evening flopping hard—it’s not that surprising that Danes has changed her mind about the idiot box. It certainly beats shilling for paint!
