Who Wants To Be Paula Abdul’s Assistant? (Hint: Not Us)

We’ve heard about weird demands of celebrities and it makes us giggle every time. More importantly, when any diva shiz goes down with any of their people — those are the best, stories. PerezHilton gave us this snipped about Paula Abdul‘s behaviour with her assistants today, but we’re wondering if this is true? It sounds like Paula, so we’re hoping this isn’t sources making up bullshiz! Either way, we just had to share with you guys. Apparently, Paula’s assistants must always…

• Have a tape recorder on because “she doesn’t trust her own conversations”

• Check TiVo for mentions of her and burn them onto a DVD

• Go through Paula’s email and send responses out in her voice

• Constantly remind her that she’s a “warrior, survivor and gift”

The last one’s obviously our favorite and does totally sound like something she would. So how many of you are lining up to be Paula’s assistant now, huh?

Cheryl Cole Out Of The X-Factor For Good

As it turns out, Cheryl Cole won’t be part of The X-Factor, period. Neither the U.S version or the U.K show! After last week’s embarrassing ordeal of being dropped from The X-Factor, U.S, Cheryl seemed to be headed across the pond to continue judging on Simon Cowell‘s (he’s executive producer) show’s original panel. She was ignominiously dropped right after the show’s first auditions in America and replaced by Nicole Scherzinger. Reports suggested that Paula Abdul and Cheryl weren’t exactly getting along as well.

News has now surfaced that Simon’s booted her from the U.K panel as well. He announced the judge’s line-up for the new season and while it includes Kelly Rowland, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and N-Dubz member Tulisa Contostavious, there’s no mention of Ms. Cole. What did she do it piss off the boss? More reports have popped up that Cheryl wasn’t cooperating at all and felt that the whole mess was a massive snub on Simon’s part. A source revealed, “Simon offered her an olive branch to come back but she didn’t take it. Now it is business as usual as far as he is concerned. He hopes that in six months it could be ‘Cheryl who?’ and people will be talking about the new judges instead…” The Cowell has spoken. And he’s normally right!

The X-Factor Shake-Up: Cheryl Cole Out, Nicole Scherzinger In!

Things work quickly (read: ruthlessly) in showbiz. Just two weeks ago Cheryl Cole was at The X-Factor‘s first auditions along with fellow judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and L.A Reid. Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger were roped in as the hosts of the American adaptation of the hit show. Everything was in place and it looked like the formula for a hit series.

All of a sudden, Nicole’s replaced Cheryl as a judge! Just like that. Cheryl’s back on a plane to England! TMZ reports that it’s because Cheryl’s English accent is too indecipherable for American audiences and also because—and this is the damning one—of her “lack of chemistry” with Paula. It pays to go kissy-kissy with Simon in moments like these because there was no way anyone was getting rid of her. Apparently, Cheryl has been asked to go back to the original U.K show, but sources are saying that the singer’s so cheesed off with the whole mess that she wants out of the whole thing! No one’s heard from Simon about all of this yet and we’re waiting to hear what he has to say. All we know is that Nicole should steer clear from Cheryl for a while. Scratch that, the whole lot of them should watch out!

Celebrities Have A Blast While Donald Trump Gets Roasted At White House Correspondent’s Dinner

There’s a reason why Donald Trump looks so glum in this picture, while John Legend and girlfriend Chrissy Teigen look like they’re having a ball. Celebrities flocked to Washington D.C on Saturday for the White House Correspondent’s Association dinner and as usual the glam factor was pretty high. But the best part of the evening was that Trump was trumped by President Barack Obama and later, by Seth Meyers, who made some pointed jokes at The Donald’s expense in response to the “birther” debate.

Obama cracked some big ones like, “I know he’s taken some flack lately, but no one is prouder to put this birth certificate issue to rest than Donald, and that’s because he can get back to the issues that matter, like, did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?” Meyers rubbed it in even further with jibes like, “Donald Trump often appears on Fox, which is ironic, because a fox often appears on Donald Trump’s head.” Ouch. Donald’s massive ego must’ve taken an even more massive beating!

Now you see why Trump looks dyspeptic, right? But even he can’t deny that the dinner was an amazing success. The ladies looked gorgeous in full-length gowns (except Michelle Trachtenberg who needs to take it easy on the goth lipstick). Mila Kunis, Anna Paquin, America Ferrera, Rosario Dawson and a very pregnant Alyssa Milano hit it out of the ball park. Paula Abdul looked pretty fantastic too—surprise surprise. The men repp’d it with the likes of Ian Somerhalder, Chris Colfer and Chace Crawford looking sharp in their suits. This also happens to be the night Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn made their hand-holding public. Page Six reports that Scarlett and Sean were all over each other at dinner with a source revealing, “She plopped down in his lap, and they were kissing.” We may not have pictures of their make-out sesh, but we do have plenty of the rest of the stars in all their finery. Paula Abdul Called 911 Over V-Day Argument With Boyfriend

Her rep is making this seem like a small matter, but it obviously wasn’t one at the time. A recording of Paula Abdul calling 911 on Valentine’s Day has hit the web, with the former Idol host crying on the 101 freeway that her boyfriend wouldn’t let her out of the car. “I wanna go, and he won’t let me!” she shrieked, yelling to the driver, “Are you gonna drop me off ’cause I have emergency on the phone!” She quickly announces “he’s dropping me off” and ends the call, but cops were concerned enough to call her back and visit her home that night. Abdul refused to file a police report and swore the argument was strictly verbal.

“Arguments with loved ones are often times heated,” Abdul’s rep told TMZ, “After the call was made everything was worked out.” Abdul was reportedly already in a “devastated” state over the imminent cancellation of Live To Dance—was she in genuine danger or merely hysterical?

Simon Cowell Admits He Wants To Get Back With Paula

We totally called it yesterday when we theorized that maybe Simon Cowell would find a way to reunite with Paula Abdul when he departs American Idol next year. Now Cowell has admitted that he does indeed want to work with Abdul again, saying “I’ve gone on record, I adore Paula. Whatever happens, I will be working with her in some capacity, because I miss her.” Now, we don’t know if this means she’ll definitely be hired for The X-Factor, but it sure sounds like it!

Funny, season 9 of Idol hasn’t even started yet (tonight, baby!) and already it feels like it’s unravelling – we sure hope all these departures don’t result in lost momentum and maximum suckage. With all the buzz surrounding Abdul it’s easy to forget that her roots are in dance, but watch one second of her onstage and it all comes rushing back. Her moves are sick, and she breezed through the routine effortlessly while looking chic in all black. Get ready to get down to all your favorite Paula songs tomorrow night; you can even dance along with her in your living room, if you can keep up, natch. Two steps forward, two steps back – you know the drill, right?

Paula Abdul To Host VH1 Divas, Jordin Sparks Added To Performer Lineup

This just in: Paula Abdul is set to host “VH1 Divas,” which will air live on Sept. 17 at 9PM EST! The singer, dancer and TV Personality is already an established diva – she’s got six number one singles under her belt, along with a Grammy and two Emmys. Oh, and did we mention she’s got almost a million Twitter followers hanging on to her every tweet?

In other awesome Diva news, Grammy-nominated starlet Jordin Sparks has been added to the star-studded Divas performer lineup. The “American Idol” winner sold more than two million copies of her first album last year, and her follow-up album, Battlefield, debuted in the Billboard Top 10. The super-star singer is currently taking the stage every night on tour with Britney Spears. Divalicious!

A superstar diva in her own right with sales of over 50 million records and six number one hits, multiple Emmy and Grammy awards winner Paula Abdul is set to host the “VH1 Divas” live concert event. Joining the star-studded list of “Divas” performers is one of America’s favorite pop idols – the platinum selling artist, Jordin Sparks. Previously announced “Divas” include Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus. The “VH1 Divas” concert will be televised live on VH1 on Thursday, September 17 at 9:00pm.

For the first time ever, these leading ladies at the top of their musical game will perform together live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York. Continuing in true “Divas” tradition, the evening will feature a night of unforgettable performances from various performers, presenters and special guests. Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

Rumor Watch: Dannii Or Cheryl To Replace Paula?

Rumors have been swirling that the timing of Paula Abdul‘s “resignation” from American Idol and the appearance in L.A. of Britain’s X Factor host Cheryl Cole isn’t just a coincidence — and that Cheryl could be lined up to replace Paula on the hit show. But apparently, this is way off the mark, and the truth could be that fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue could indeed be the younger(ish) model replacing her.

“There have never been any plans for [Cheryl] to go on US TV … she only wants to focus on her music,” reports Metro, instead playing up Dannii’s “exciting” talks with the show producers.

If true, it would be a neat victory for the Aussie star, sister of Kylie, who’s had to face down unfavorable comparisons with Cheryl since last year. Alternatively, it could all be another massive publicity ruse for the show, and Paula will return regardless.
