15 Jersey Characters We Hope Katherine Heigl Studied For One For The Money

One For The Money starring Katherine Heigl opens wide today, and it shows her in a way we aren’t used to seeing her. No, we don’t just mean “brunette.” The film is based on the best-selling novel about Stephanie Plum, a down-on-her-luck lady from New Jersey who turns to bounty hunting to make some cash. The tough-as-nails Jersey girl part seems a bit of a stretch for Heigl. So let’s hope she researched by watching some other classic characters hailing from the great Garden State. Check out our 15 favorites in the gallery below. (Warning: Those sensitive to blatant stereotyping of New Jersey residents should probably just proceed to the next blog post.)

Katy Perry, Kimora Lee And Others Celebrate Holidays In The Sun

There are lots of times when we can ignore the fact that celebrities live better lives than us (like, this morning, when we read about Sinead O’Connor’s miserable love life, for instance). There are even times when we try to imagine that their lives are JUST LIKE our own (say, on Saturday when Paris, Prince and Blanket Jackson were on my JetBlue flight from the Bahamas to Orlando!!!). But then we get to work and browse through photos like the ones above and below, and realize we a) don’t have friends with yachts, and b) don’t have round-the-clock personal trainers and chefs to make us look amazing during the two months of the year when it’s impossible not to stuff your face daily. Anyway, at least we all get enjoy getting to look at pretty pictures. Democracy in action. Check out these pics of Katy Perry, Kimora Lee and Djimon Hounsou, Russell Simmons and Melissa George, Stephanie Seymour, Jon Bon Jovi, Serena Williams, Coco and Mischa Barton enjoying their Christmas weekend on the beach. And don’t miss our gallery of the 100 hottest celebrity bikini pics of 2011.

Jon Bon Jovi Clears Up Death Hoax On Twitter

Did you read the rumors that Jon Bon Jovi was dead floating around on Twitter yesterday? We did and knew it was a hoax but there was a litte bit of us who thought — This BETTER not be true! News like this always brings out the Cassandra in people even though we’re well aware that weirdos on Twitter regularly bump off celebrities. Jon thought he would clear up the air himself and tweeted a photo of himself standing in front of a Christmas Tree with a placard that read, “Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey…” Someone from his management also wrote a message that clarified, “…Rest assured that Jon is fine! This photo was just taken.”

So there you have it, folks. Jon is A-Ok. Also note, he’s standing in front of a Christmas tree and not jumping into it like one Kiefer Sutherland.

Paul McCartney’s Ballet Premiere Draws A Star Studded Crowd

Here at The FAB Life, they don’t come much bigger than one of the original fabs, Paul McCartney! The legend added a new notch to his musical resume last night with the New York City premiere of his ballet composition, Ocean’s Kingdom. It was certainly a family affair, as Paul was joined in Lincoln Center by his fashionista daughter Stella, musician son James, and rumored fiancee Nancy Shevell. But even more stars turned out by the galaxy-load to watch the unveiling of the work for themselves. Sarah Jessica Parker turned up in what appeared to be a lace tablecloth, while the lovely Liv Tyler shown in a see-through black gown. A very trim Alec Baldwin kept things classy in a tux, while Jon Bon Jovi and Little Stevie Van Zandt kept the rock ‘n’ roll flag flying high. And Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees made an appearance to up the WTF factor. He’s had an opening in his calender since 1969.

On the way to the theater, the-still-pretty-cute Beatle admitted to feeling “quietly confident and nervous” about how his work would go down with the crowd of famous faces. “I’d seen the great traditional ballets like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, but I had a very limited knowledge of ballet,” he told the Press Association. “Since this project I’ve obviously started to take notice.” But don’t except him to pirouette for us anytime soon. “I went to see Giselle recently in London and was bowled over by the sheer athleticism of the dancers,” he said. “The next day I tried to do one of the steps and failed dismally.” Although our idolization of him is so intense, we’d gladly pay big bucks for a show called Paul McCartney Fails At Dancing For Two Hours. Plus it would remind us of our prom. Check out more from last night in the gallery below!

Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora And Diane Lane’s Big-Haired 80′s Love Triangle

diane_jon1

We love a hard-partying juicy story from the past, and this one made our ears prick up like Legolas from LOTR. The fact that Jon Bon Jovi dated Diane Lane back in 1985 totally skipped our pop culture radar. In our defense, we were two years old at the time.

All the dirty deets are in Bon Jovi‘s ex tour manager, Rich Bozzet‘s book, originally titled, “Sex, Drugs and Bon Jovi“. So Rich… what’s the book about, huh? His story is that Jon and Diane were like this tight and loving it up, but unfortunately she was also getting this tight with the band’s guitarist, Richie Sambora. An excerpt reads, “The very thing that made Jon feel so passionate toward Diane Lane in the first place ended up being the reason for their sudden, unceremonious breakup.”

Another passages spells it out: “Diane was young and wild and loved to party. But she loved to party so much that Jon caught her partying with Richie Sambora. That wasn’t a good day for Jon’s relationship with Diane, to say nothing of Jon-Richie relations.” So as we know, Jon ended up going back to his old flame Dorothea Hurley, and they got married in 1989, while Diane eventually ended up with Josh Brolin.

But what we want to know is, “…caught her partying with…” means what exactly? Taking the book’s title into consideration it could mean a lot, so maybe we’ll just leave “partying” in quotation marks and let our imagination run free.

Jon Bon Jovi Injured On Stage

bonjovihurt

How much do we love this man and his perpetual fountain of youth? He.Does.Not.Age. But he does get injured. Jon Bon Jovi hurt himself pretty badly while performing a concert at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. Being the classy star that he is, Jon finished his set and then had to be carried off the stage by the rest of the band. Ouch.

His rep explained what went down. “Near the end of Bon Jovi’s two-and-a-half hour show at New Meadowlands Stadium on Friday night, Jon Bon Jovi sustained a torn calf muscle … The injury will not prevent Bon Jovi from playing any of their upcoming stadium dates this summer.” That’s why you can see Jonny limping around to (insert irony) Livin’ on A Prayer (whilst probably thinking “we’re half way there-eeee”.) Another spokesman told People, “Jon Bon Jovi sustained a torn calf muscle. Jon made light of the injury and went on to close the show with their hit, ‘Living On a Prayer.’ The band ended the night together, thanking the capacity hometown crowd, and assisting Jon off the stage.”

So yes, ladies – Jon can still lay you down in a Bed of Roses.

Celebs Embrace Obama As 44th President

When Barack Obama promised change, we didn’t realize that bringing great entertainment to political events was part of the deal. But … wow! The “We Are One” concert on Sunday kicked off with Bruce Springsteen performing “The Rising” with a full gospel choir and ended with Beyonce belting out “America the Beautiful.” Sandwiched in between were performers like Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Usher, Shakira, John Mellencamp and U2 — not to mention actors/speakers like Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker, Marisa Tomei, Jack Black, Steve Carell, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Foxx and Tom Hanks. Double wow!

And the parties spreading out in Washington D.C. continue — from the Latino inaugural gala (Marc Anthony performed, J.Lo in tow) to the “Declare Yourself” inaugural kick-off event (yes, Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson are still an item.) to Young Jeezy‘s “Presidential Status Inauguration Ball,” where a shirtless T.I. pumped up the crowd. Check out the pics below to see some of the action, and keep up with today’s events at VH1′s Live Inauguration Blog.
