Jay-Z Compliments Warren Buffett’s Tie, And Other Imaginary Tales

Actually, the headline lies. We are really having a hard time imagining what really went down at the party celebrating the reopening of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in New York City last night. It was Hov’s first public appearance since the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, and Beyonce understandably chose to stay home. The sheer variety of attendees would blow our mind if we weren’t already used to Jay’s wide scope of influence: Warren Buffet, Selita Ebanks, Spike Lee, Mob Wives star Renee Graziano and Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia were there along with his more musical pals like Ashanti, Wale, Questlove and Irv Gotti. Halloween ain’t just for kids anymore. Celebs stepped out over the weekend in outfits that were equal parts scary and sexy. Kim Kardashian strutted her stuff as a Bavarian looking Red Riding Hood. Did she pick it up at Oktoberfest along with her dirndl? Coco and her Great Pumpkins hit the town as a (plastic surgeon’s?) nurse, and Snooki rocked it as…Queen of the Pickles?

Okay, we’ll be honest: we don’t know what a lot of these outfits are supposed to be. But that’s the magic of Halloween! We don’t have to! It’s the one night of the year where it’s not slutty, it’s a costume! Tights, lots of skin, and body glitter: it ain’t just for skanks anymore.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Musicians, celebrities and irrelevant D-Listers are gathering together once again this Sunday evening to celebrate the MTV Video Music Awards. Sure the VMAs are about music and videos and honoring future one-hit wonders (a-ha, anyone?), but really what they’re about is said stars and wannabees shocking us with their outfits…or lack there of.

Amber Rose and Coco, best known for respectively standing next to Kanye West and Ice-T on red carpets, got rather affectionate at an afterparty for Chris Rock‘s Good Hair in NY last night. Sadly, Mr. “I’d Do Anything For A Blonde Dyke” West wasn’t there to enjoy the moment, but stars ranging from Al Sharpton to Adrian Grenier to Ashanti (and a pregnant Padma Lakshmi!) were in attendance for the screening. Think anyone knew about that $5 million lawsuit against the film?

Look who we just spotted enjoying President Barack Obama‘s (!!!) inauguration! It’s Diddy, Beyonce, and a dude in a giant fur hat. Oh wait, that’s Jay-Z, sporting the first fashion faux pas of the Inauguration. We almost gave that title to Aretha Franklin‘s bow hat, but she rocked it too hard to deserve a diss, even if that bow almost did eat her head.
