You Oughta Know That Alanis Morissette Is Pregnant

Two things: 1) SORRY for the above headline, but it was just too easy. And 2) Now we know why Alanis Morissette‘s boobs looked so insane at the Prince Of Persia premiere, as seen in this photo. The singer is reportedly head over feet (sorry again!) that she and her husband, rapper Souleye, are expecting their first child together. In a feature in Us Magazine, Morrisette outed her pregnancy in a list of “25 Things You May Not Know About Me”. Some other facts that we find just as interesting in that list include her being the owner of three turtles and that she has a debilitating fear of moths, which is actually far more intriguing than expecting a child. Why does she find moths so scary? Can she bear to watch Silence of the Lambs? Probably not. Alas, we’re off-topic. Congratulations, you crazy kids!

Your Next American Idol Is…

It’s pretty awesome that a bunch of kids who auditioned for a reality show eight months ago got to share the stage with people like Janet Jackson (Miss Jackson if you’re nasty!), Chicago, Joe Cocker, and Hall and Oates tonight. Janet Jackson! I mean!

In addition to all the special guests on the American Idol finale, there was a winner, and his name is Lee DeWyze. Okay, if you didn’t feel happy for the guy as he cried his way through “Beautiful Day”, you have a heart filled with poo. It became pretty obvious from the way Lee nervously handled his microphone in the moments leading up to his coronation that he really wanted this. We still have total confidence that Crystal Bowersox will have a killer career, but there’s only one winner, and – God, all his crying! It was touching. Suck it, paint store! We did enjoy the rest of the show more than we’ve probably enjoyed most other episodes of Idol, for our rundown of all the special surprises, read on.

This Is Mr. Duplicity

The object of Alanis Morissette‘s angst in her hit song “You Oughta Know” is none other than Joey from Full House. In an interview with the Calgary Herald, Dave Coulier admits he is the muse for the angry break-up song. The actor, best known for his role as the BFF of the father of Michelle Tanner (played by baby Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley) who comes to help raise her on the TV series, said he first heard the song while driving.

“I said, ‘Wow, this girl is angry.’”

Hmm, you think? She does ask him in her 1995 hit, “…every time I scratch my nails down someone else’s back. I hope you feel it…well can you feel it?”

Dave admits he didn’t even realize it was her the first time he heard the tune, but then thought, “‘Oh man, I think it’s Alanis.’ . . . I listened to the song over and over again, and I said, ‘I think I have really hurt this person.’ I tried to contact her and I finally got a hold of her. And at the same time, the press was calling and saying, ‘You want to comment on this song?’ I called her and I said, ‘Hi. Uh, what do you want me to say?’ And she said, ‘You can say whatever you want.’”

Despite Alanis screaming, “It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced. Are you thinking of me when you f**k her?” Dave insists they are friends.

“We saw each other and hung out for an entire day. And it was beautiful. It was one of those things where it was kind of like, ‘We’re good.’ “
