Adam Lambert’sUnplugged performance is set to hit VH1’s Unplugged site tomorrow (March 10), but you can get a sneak peek of him performing a stripped-down version of “Down the Rabbit Hole” now. This is a perfect accompaniment to our country’s current Alice hysteria, but also great for those who are fiending for a bongos fix.
We’d love to tell you about the magical afternoon we shared with Adam Lambert, discussing fashion, style and mortifying high school outfits, but we melted into a pile of squee after our time together and can only remember glimpses of those 15 minutes.
Let’s just say this: all the awesome things you’ve imagined about the guy are true. He’s tall, dark, handsome, insanely polite, completely charming, and perfectly primped. His makeup was flawless, he made eye contact like a true gentleman, and he was decked out in patent leather boots, leather gloves, and an Alexander McQueen shirt (all black mind you). Also, an army of angels hovered around his head and sang “Hallelujah” as diamonds fell from the sky at his feet. You know, just like you imagined.
We talked to Adam about his current fashion pics, those embarassing outfits from high school and what it was like to sing with Kiss while wearing platform boots. Clip above.
Adam Lambert knows how to keep his fans on their toes, especially the ones who refuse to accept that he’s gay. In a recent radio interview, Lambert matter-of-factly explained that he will not be boxed in by his sexuality, which is why he recently made out with Ke$ha at a club. Say whaaa?
Lambert, on radio show BLI in The Morning, explained that he recently decided to indulge his hetero-curious side saying “I made out with Ke$ha a couple nights ago. . . She’s really pretty and we were laughing and…just started kissing!” And if you were curious, Lambert confirms she’s “a great kisser”. We’re about 110% sure this means nothing and Glambert is still gay as can be, but it does go to show you that when men and women share eye glitter, sparks can fly regardless of sexual preference. Kelly Osbourne and Shannen Doherty were seated together at the G-Star Raw show at NYC Fashion Week yesterday, and we can’t think of a more inspired pairing. Kelly got her big break stomping angrily around her house on The Osbournes, being frutstrated by her misunderstanding parents, her obnoxious brother (who was younger but always acted older) and vain boyfriend (remember the singer from The Used?). Shannen, of course, was Brenda on Beverly Hills, 90210, where she stomped around her house, frustrated by her misunderstanding parents, her obnoxious brother (who was her twin but always acted older) and vain boyfriend (Dylan!). Ironically, with the ex-Charmed star reportedly hawking a reality show, she might have been the one asking Kelly for career advice.
Also attending were such fashion fanatics as Adam Lambert, John Legend, Agyness Deyn, Liv Tyler and Terrell Owens. See what they wore in the gallery below.
We sat down with Adam Lambert today (more on that swoon-tastic moment next week), and the first thing we spoke about was yesterday’s death of innovative fashion designer Alexander “Lee” McQueen. The singer showed up to our interview in a McQueen shirt in honor of the late luminary, and expressed his sadness over the designer’s alleged suicide numerous times during out chat. It’s a great loss for all of us, but for someone like Adam who gets fashion (and by “get” we mean he wore the fiercest patent leather YSL boots today, while we stomped around in Steve Maddens) it’s felt a bit deeper. In the clip above, he shares with us his grief over losing a sartorial “visionary.”
Figure skating doesn’t normally produce outrageous figures — unless, say, someone’s capping knees. But Johnny Weircould turn out to be the Adam Lambert of the Olympics. In 2006, the American skater ruffled feathers by wearing a Russian warm-up jacket and he’s already set off an avalanche-sized controversy this year by skating into Vancouver with white fox fur on his shoulders. (After receiving complaints and death threats, the fur has been removed).
Johnny’s similarity to Adam has nothing to do with foxes or fur, but both use their flamboyance to make statements during mainstream public events. We don’t think Johnny will be kissing guys on live national TV like Lambert, but after watching the promo for the eight-part TV series “Be Good Johnny Weir,” we’re not counting it out either. More facts: Johnny has two pet chihuahuas named Bon-Bon and Vanya, models in runway shows, speaks Russian and French, has a penchant for glittery rhinestones and is a three-time U.S. National Champion.
When Sarah Silverman and Adam Lambert were paired up to present the award for best comedy at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, we knew that anything could happen. After all, last time Glambert appeared on live television, people’s worlds were shattered and little children would never be the same.
The moment the pair took the stage, parents should have known to divert their childrens’ attention, but instead of Adam being the corrupting influence, it was all Sarah. We’ll break it down for you: Sarah Silverman really loves d*ck and doesn’t care who knows it. We mean she reaaaally loves it, and reaaaally doesn’t care who knows.
So despite Sandra Bullock’s best efforts to “earmuff” the little kid sitting next her, he knows. And Bradley Cooper knows. And The entire cast of The Hurt Locker totally knows. And Adam? Well, he’s happy the heat’s off him for once, but he knows and totally agrees with her.
The media is going gaga over Sunday’s Golden Globes, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, people. Do the Globes have Nick Jonas & The Administration as its house band? Do the Globes have Adam Lambert and Sarah Silverman presenting an award together (spoiler: expect something memorable)? Are John Krasinski, Amy Poehler and Death Cab for Cutie paying tribute to John Hughes at the Golden Globes? True, the Globes have funnyman Ricky Gervais as its host, but is he as easy on the eyes as funny girl and CCMA host Kristin Chenoweth? Of course not!

This Is It was one of our favorite films of 2009, but it was missing something…and we think we just found it. Sure, the film was all about the music of Michael Jackson, but what about giving some respect to his famous glove??? It seems everyone except Kristin Chenoweth forgot about that notorious piece of handwear. As she gears up to host the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on Friday night at 9PM EST on VH1, allow us to provide you with her latest video short, which has her looking like a cross between a flashy disco ball, a gummy bear and an oven mitt. It’s a real sight to behold, and you’re seeing it exclusively here before it airs on the show.
In addition to Chenoweth’s stellar hosting skills, the show will feature a whole boatload of A-list presenters - where else can you find Meryl Streep mixing with Amy Poehler, or Adam Lambert hobnobbing with Bradley Cooper? With this kind of talent on-hand, someone has to cover it, so check back with us while we live blog the whole thing. To participate on your mobile, text TALK to 22422 or search VH1 in the iTunes App Store to download the Watch and Discuss Live Chat mobile app. It’s free and works on BlackBerry, iPhone and other phones.
