Zach Braff Denies Gay Rumors After Website Hackers Try To Out Him

Remember Zach Braff? Barely, right? Okay, now imagine that you heard that the former Scrubs star had recently come out. Suddenly you’re slightly more interested, right? Sadly the Zach Braff gay rumors, the ones that made you think about of the actor for the first time since 2004, are unfortunately false. TMZ reports that hackers managed to post a coming out letter to Braff’s website that declared in part, “I am excited and proud to announce that I am an open member of the homosexual community.” Said Braff’s rep, “He was hacked … that site has been down since 2006.” Quiet, Zach’s rep! You are squandering this amazing opportunity!

All kidding aside, Braff didn’t totally drop off the radar once he slipped of his stethoscope. The actor-director is currently working on the play “All New People” in New York City, and recently appeared in the film The High Cost of Living. At least this wasn’t another awful rumor about Zach Braff’s death like last time, though even when that happened, just for a split second…we all thought seriously about a Garden State sequel, right?

Celebrities Roll In For The Hangover Part II Screening And After-Party

They all came in droves to watch the The Hangover Part II! And by “they” we mean every type of celebrity. The supermodels showed up—Selita Ebanks and Alessandra Ambrosio. The fashion designer showed up—Calvin Klein. Even figure skater Johnny Weir turned up! The screening was held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City, with an after party at The Top of The Standard.

The cast—Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianaki —held court with director, Todd Phillips. They were probably quite pleased with the mixed bag crowd who showed up, including the likes of Zach Braff, James van der Beek, Ciara, Ivanka Trump and Russell Simmons. For the full 411 on who was there, check out our gallery below.

The Vanity Fair Tribeca Film Festival Party Brings Out Every Category Of Stars

When Vanity Fair throws a party, everybody comes. So it was no surprise that when they threw a party at the Tribeca Film Festival, celebrities, old and new, and of every profession turned up. Young Hollywood was ably repp’d by Anna Kendrick and Abigail Breslin. Hollywood royalty, on the other hand, included the likes of Robert de Niro, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Walken and director, Ron Howard.

There were designers (Calvin Klein and Diane von Furstenberg), rappers (Pharrell) and supermodels (Helena Christensen) that went as far back as Lauren Hutton, even! From the miscellaneous lot, Jerry Seinfeld, Zach Braff, Martha Stewart, Ed Burns, and Emily Mortimer showed up. Take a look at our gallery to watch the motley crew arriving at the do.

Zach Braff Puts On His Director’s Scarf To Make Another Mopefest Or Two

Fedora-wearer Zach Braff has been so busy at his day job acting on Scrubs (which, despite numerous attempts at cancellation, only just kicked the bucket this year) that he didn’t have time to create a follow-up to his 2004 film Garden State until now. First, Braff plans to direct the upcoming film Swingles which is about thirtysomethings in the dating scene, which he also helped write. Swingles. Hmm, that sounds familiar. Oh, wait no, we’re thinking of Weality Bites. (We just found our new favorite game, “Movies of the 90′s as pronounced with speech impediments.”)

Braff is also writing another film, which he says will be more personal, and that even though he’s “not going to pontificate about the state of twentysomethings or thirtysomethings every time I make a movie” that this one will be more “in the Garden State oeuvre.” In other words, that hopeless feeling you’re going to get as you leave the multiplex while also humming a song by Bon Iver? You just got Braffed.

Zach Braff And Fellow Thespians Celebrate The Public Theater

Just the other day, we were thinking how it really takes a special person to be able to pull off a fedora. On some people, the hats look fresh, summery and cool. On others, they’re just kinda douchey. Maybe we have an irrational hate because Scrubs got so effing bad these past couple years, but we’re thinking that the combination of Zach Braff, his hat, his sunglasses and his date’s annoying forehead-headband are in the douchey camp.

Braff and his girlfriend, model Taylor Bagley, were at the Public Theater Gala along with a who’s who of theater-types, including Al Pacino, Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber and David Schwimmer. Schwimmer, by the by, debuted some new bangs that are somewhat Bieber-esque but still better than Ross Geller’s gelmet head that so haunted us during Friends. Check out all the ac-TORs in attendance in the gallery below.

Don’t Even Think About It, Zach Braff

Zach Braff & Emmy Rossum

Even before we animated the eyebrows, there was just something off about this photo of Zach Braff and Emmy Rossum chilling at the Darker Side Of Climate Change Debate event in NYC. Not that we could blame Braff for making a move on the Phantom Of The Opera star if the opportunity arose—anyone who’d date Counting Crow Adam Duritz in the last year is obviously fair game for a sensitive Scrub like him. Among the stars with better things to do than “ooh” at completely innocent celebrity candids were Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rev Run, Kevin Bacon and Sarah Silverman, who moderated a debate on the very serious matter (climate change, not whether Zach Braff was looking for action). See photos from the event in the gallery below.

Zach Braff Is Not Dead, And Funny Too

Zach Braff was supposed to be dead? We must have missed that rumor along with most of the world, but it’s pissed off the actor so much that he made a YouTube video to, er, prove he’s not. The Scrubs star filmed the half angry half amused tirade from the set of the hit TV show to dispel the hoax news that he’d committed suicide, which started when a Twitter feed linked to a fake CNN page.

Zach’s not-dead performance is pretty funny, as he says: “If I was going to do it myself, it do it the way that everyone else would – with pots and pans. He said I died in my 32,000 square foot home in Beverly Hills… I’m not Oprah.” Even better, it ends with Donald Faison singing an R’n'B version of Wing Beneath My Wings. Moving!

“To the douchebag that started this, you win my first ever ‘Douche of the Day’ award for making my mom upset,” Zach adds. What’s more, that “douchebag” has gone on the original page to defend his actions, explaining it was something to fool his friends back in 2007, and wasn’t meant for public consumption, only something happened with the bandwidth etc etc. He ends by optimistically reaching out to Zach via Twitter and Facebook. Got a feeling those friend requests won’t be OK’d, though!

Birth Dating: Who’s Older? Paul Rudd Or Zach Braff?

paul rudd & zach braff

Paul Rudd of I Love You, Man got his first big break playing Alicia Silverstone‘s ex-stepbrother-turned-boyfriend in 1995′s Clueless. Almost a decade later, Scrubs star Zach Braff had his biggest cinematic victory so far with Garden State, which he also wrote and directed. Both actors were born on April 6th. Which one is older?
