Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone Hospital Pic Kinda Bums Us Out

When we first saw this picture of big screen action legends Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone posing in twin hospital beds, we assumed it was a promo for the biggest bummer buddy movie ever. But sadly, it appears that Sly and The Governator really are laid up. “After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder,” Arnold wrote when he posted this photo to his website. All of you who read that caption in his trademark “Ah-Nuld Voice”, raise your hands. We thought so.

Stallone happened to be visiting the hospital at the same time to get fixed up from a rematch with Apollo Creed (we imagine). We guess it’s nice that the old friends are doing stuff together…we just wish it didn’t include surgeries. It’s way too real. Get well soon, guys! The aging stars are set to team up outside the recovery room to film The Tomb this spring. We’ll be happier for that reunion.

Thomas Jane Claims He Was Fired From Stallone Movie For Being White

Hung‘s Thomas Jane thinks he knows why he got fired from the Sylvester Stallone film Headshot, and no, it’s not because no one has any idea who Thomas Jane is. Apparently the Thomas Jane Sylvester Stallone beef started when producer Joel Silver joined the filmmaking team. “Well, Joel Silver came onboard the project and said that he has a quote-unquote ‘formula’ for these quote-unquote ‘buddy movies’ and it has to be a white guy and a quote-unquote ‘ethnic guy,’” Jane explained. “And they relieved me of duty and basically paid me off, which I was really upset about, you know?” Call us crazy, but that formula can’t be that precise. What about Lethal Weap…no, okay, how about Training D…oh no, wait. Well, there’s always True Lies. And if Stallone went True Lies with this film, we might actually see it. We demand more underwear dance scenes!

Perhaps remembering for a moment the dozens upon dozens of action films that don’t follow such a rigid racial partnerships, like Rush Hour, Live Free or Die Hard and most importantly, Big Mama’s: Like Father, Like Son, Jane randomly throws out another theory about why The Expendables star might not have been too sad to see his partner go. “I didn’t get a call from Stallone. I was a little upset about that,” Jane said, rationalizing, “Maybe they didn’t want anybody on the movie with a bigger d— than him.” So, it’ll basically have to be Kindergarten Cop 2 then, right?

taylor_lautner_emma_carey

Is it just us, or do there seem to be more and more televised award shows each year? That means one thing (and it has nothing to do with awards)—there’s more red carpet fashion than ever. When we compiled our list of favorite fashion moments from 2010, we had quite a crop to choose from. Gone are the days where the only shows worth mentioning were the Emmys, Grammys and Oscars. This year’s style compilation comes to you courtesy of the Creative Arts Emmys, the SAG Awards, and even the ESPYs. Oh, and a couple dozen film premieres, too. Check out who made our cut for best dressed celebs of 2010 in the gallery below—including just about everyone from Mad Men, a very GOOP-y celeb we love to hate, and the most famous half-vampire couple ever.

Everyone Was At The Hollywood Awards Gala But Us

hollywood_awards_gala

If you’re an actor and you weren’t at last night’s 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala, then fire your agent immediately because everyone else was. We aren’t even actors and we’re still sort of hurt we weren’t invited. Come on guys, we’re fun!

A dazzling array of A-listers turned up at LA’s Beverly Hilton Hotel, including Halle Berry who shone in a darlingly low cut sequined dress. Hilary Swank, Milla Jovovich, Jodie Foster and Helena Bonham Carter were just a few of the many mega-celebs who looked radiant as they made their way inside.

But looking fabulous on the red carpet was just the half of it. The Tinsel Crew then settled down for some hardcore award presentations. Among those honored were Sean Penn for his humanitarian work, Sylvester Stallone who was presented with a Career Achievement Award. Mia Wasikowska and Andrew Garfield were singled out as the most promising break through stars, and Zach Galifanakis won- what else?- Best Comedy Actor. But The Social Network made out the best, netting an award for Best Ensemble Cast as well as Best Screenwriting for Aaron Sorkin.

Get your fill of all the gala glamour in the gallery below!

The Last Action Heroes

SPL199913_095

A bunch of actors got together last night to watch a movie they shot for the express purpose of reliving their former glory and to see if they could identify their plastic surgery scars on the big screen. Right??

Cheap aging jokes aside, we’re actually super excited for The Expendables because we l.o.v.e. 80′s action movies, and this movie features almost every action star from that time. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger took time out from governing California to appear in the film, though he didn’t walk the red carpet.

The film was written and directed by Sylvester Stallone (who also wrote Rocky, so the guy knows what he’s doing), and also stars Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren and Stone Cold Steve Austin, just to name a few (Dear God, we don’t ask you for much, but please let Carl Weathers make an uncredited cameo). If nothing else, at least we know that this bunch of actors knows how to clean up for a movie premiere, the whole lot of them look dapper.

Adrien Brody Represents Queens At Iron Man 2 Premiere

Adrien Brody

Hey, Scott Stapp is growing his hair back out! Oh wait, that bad-ass in the shades, soul patch and leather jacket is Adrien Brody, reminding everyone at yesterday’s Iron Man 2 premiere that, despite winning an Academy Award for playing a Polish classical musician in The Pianist, “A-Bro” is just a dude from Queens at heart. Dude is totally not going to wuss up Predators at all! So what if he was in the worst Wes Anderson movie? Ayyy!

It’s a shame Brody didn’t think to pose next to Masters of Macho Mickey Rourke and Sylvester Stallone, who spent time mugging with Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., frightening us with their matching colored sunglasses. See these stars and others like Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Don Cheadle in the red carpet gallery below.

TheFABlife At Art Basel: Our Top 5 Moments In Miami

art-basel-lead-2

It’s cold in New York, so the TheFABlife just had to head down to South Florida to check out the celebrity-studded Art Basel Miami event last week, and it was certainly filled with celebrities, fabulous parties, and of course amazing artwork. We packed our bags full of Margi Kent dresses, and checked into the hot new Gansevoort South which was the perfect location for hitting all the hot art shows and parties. From Michael Jackson tribute artwork to checking out Sylvester Stallone‘s original paintings to partying with a unique mix of Manhattan party people and art collectors to bumping into Miley Cyrus at the pool, Art Basel Miami was certainly fab. Sylvester Stallone Makes A Deal

SPL143281_004

Yesterday was a good day for Sylvester Stallone. The action star turned artist unloaded two of his original paintings yesterday at Art Basel in Miami – and made a whopping $90,000! An abstract piece was purchased by hotel mogul Steve Wynn for $40,000 and a self-portrait from the 70s was purchased by an art gallery for $50,000. Sylvester’s work was shown at Zurich based Gmurzynska Gallery, in the same space as Colombian legend Fernando Botero. “I’m not just painting for painting’s sake. I want to be truthful,” Sly told reporters of his work. Not bad for his first gallery show! [Photo: Splash News Online]

5 Better Villains For Batman 3 Than Eddie Murphy As The Riddler

How do you follow the biggest, darkest superhero movie of all time? According to The Sun, you hire Eddie Murphy to play a robber who wears a green body tight and leaves clues telling authorities exactly where they can find and arrest him. Yes, you cast Norbit as The Riddler. Gritty!

It took less than a day for Hollywood and everyone else to go “oh, hell no!” to The Sun‘s claims. Rachel Weisz as Catwoman we can accept. She’s hot and she’s British—something director Chris Nolan and Batman Christian Bale will appreciate. But Shia LaBeouf as Robin? Is there no such thing as “too obvious?” Until California passes a proposition that Shit TheBeef must star in every potential Hollywood blockbuster, that’s one casting choice we refuse to accept.

Catwoman aside, we can think of five villains we’d rather see brought to the big screen than the iconic ones hinted at so far. Sure, they’re less famous than The Riddler or Mr. Freeze, but that just means Joel Schumacher hasn’t ruined them.

Obama Wins Hearts of Hollywood, McCain Gathers Cracksquad

While we’re not suggesting our readers cast their votes in November based on celebrity endorsements, we feel it’s worthwhile to highlight the teams building on both sides. Among the A-listers, music legends and social activists that count themselves as (outspoken) supporters of Senator Barack Obama: Oprah Winfrey, will.i.am., Halle Berry, Stevie Wonder, Bono, Alicia Keys, Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson — to name a few.

Senator John McCain‘s Tinseltown fan club seems much less proud of their candidate (we had trouble finding ANY photos of celebs donning McCain gear), and includes The Nanny, The Terminator, Rambo, the goth girl from The Breakfast Club, Doyle of Bio-Dome, and Hills antagonist Heidi Montag.

Sounds like six more reasons we will not be attending the Republican National Convention next week. See photos of the loud and proud Obama followers below:
