The Fear Remake Starring Justin Bieber, Now Reese Witherspoon Approved!

Everyone born after 1970 and before 1986 remembers Reese Witherspoon‘s excellent turn in the ’90s horror movie Fear. That roller coaster scene? We have never not been disappointed by a trip to Six Flags since. Nor have we ever full trusted Mark Wahlberg, who played the movie’s seductive villain. Just kidding, Mark; our mothers say hello! It was only a matter of time before we were treated to a Fear remake, and we’re glad to see Reese approve of its rumored star: Justin Bieber. “Great. That would be cool,” Reese exclaimed to MTV. “Would he be playing me or Mark Wahlberg?” Oh Reese. You are basically a human roller coaster…of delight!

Turns out, Witherspoon wasn’t poking fun at Justin’s dulcet tones or his soft, shapely locks. She was seriously asking. “Is it like a girl who harasses the family, like a stalker who can’t leave him alone? That would be good,” Witherspoon muses. “I mean girls get crazy about him.” Reese is totally right. If they switch the sexes, the movie could pretty much be shot as a documentary. Think of all the money the filmmakers could save! They could just rent Busch Gardens for the day, let a hundred girls loose on Justin aaaaaand that’s a wrap!

Mark Wahlberg Apologizes For His Insensitive 9/11 Comments

Mark Wahlberg is very quickly retracting his incredibly insensitive, inappropriate comments about 9/11. The actor went on record in an interview with Men’s Journal where he ended up on some really weird speculation trip about the events of September 11. The actor told the magazine that he was actually scheduled to travel on one of the planes but had changed his mind and booked an earlier flight. Had he stopped there, then we would have been okay. But he shot his mouth off completely saying that if he had actually been on United Airlines flight 93, he would have prevented 9/11 from happening. There’s fantasizing and then there’s complete bulls— and this falls into the latter, especially when he commented, “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did.” He also added, “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.”

As you can imagine, when common sense returned to him, he was probably as aghast by his comments as we were. He has issued an apology saying, “To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention.”

Mark Wahlberg Talks Missed 9/11 Flight, Rewrites History Mark-Wahlberg-Style

Mark Wahlberg, why are you bringing up 9/11 in an interview with Men’s Journal? Why are you bringing up 9/11 at all, especially to fantasize about how you could have stopped it from happening? In a new interview, the Contraband star went so far as to say if he had been a passenger on United Airlines flight 93, the events of September 11 would have gone a little different. “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” Wahlberg says. That’s a pretty big “if,” Mark. As in, the biggest “if” of all time.

What makes Wahlberg’s claims kind of eerie (as well as somewhat insulting and really inappropriate) is the fact that, were it not for Mark’s decision to take an earlier flight, he would have actually been on one of the planes that was hijacked by terrorists. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry,” imagines Wahlberg. Whaaaaa? Do you think Mark’s interviewer just asked about his daily gym regiment and he went off on his absurd tangent? Mark Wahlberg, you keep this up and we will not say hello to our mothers for you.

Dakota Fanning’s Marc Jacobs Spot Joins The Long History Of Controversial Ads

Dakota Fanning’s banned Marc Jacobs ad was deemed too saucy for the good people of Britain early today, though so far the spot is considered safe for American eyes. Despite what you might think about the advert itself, Dakota (and Jacobs) certainly aren’t the first people to come up with a controversial campaign that had people gasping…or cringing…or just rolling their eyes. From the extremely sexual to the merely gross to the extremely sexual and gross, and starring celebs like Pamela Anderson, Keira Knightley and Jessica Alba, controversial ads are as common as, well, controversial ads getting banned. Check out some of the most memorable controversial advertising below!

Mark And Donnie Wahlberg To Open Greatest Restaurant Of All Time

Get ready to never be satisfied by any other restaurant ever again: according to the Boston Herald, Mark Wahlberg’s restaurant Wahlburgers is set to open soon, a joint venture the actor is opening with brother Donnie Wahlberg, among others. Wahlburgers? That’s it. Shut it down. As for as we’re concerned, every other eating establishment on the planet no longer exists (except for Red Lobster, of course, since that name is also completely dead-on).

Reportedly the brothers’ restaurant recently finished securing its amazing title after negotiating with existing burger joint Tom Wahl’s, which sold a “Wahlburger.” Please, please, please let Wahburgers be a theme restaurant where all the waiters are shirtless boxers on brink of collapse. Please let every mother who orders an entree get a free personal hi from chef Paul Wahlberg, Mark and Donnie’s older brother. We didn’t even have to make a joke about that one. Paul Wahlberg is actually going to be the Wahlburgers chef!

Mark Wahlberg and Leo DiCaprio Reveal Their Man-Crushes On Taylor Lautner

It looks like Marky Mark and Leo are definitely Team Jacob! Taylor Lautner has been making heats beat faster ever since getting his defining role as everyone’s favorite dreamy teen wolf (sorry, MTV) in the Twilight Saga. And even former teen (current adult) heart-throbs Mark Wahlberg and Leonardo DiCaprio aren’t immune to his charms! The two senior badasses made light of Taylor’s star power at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual luncheon yesterday in Los Angeles.

“I am sitting at a table with a gentleman who is better looking than you and is in better shape than me,” Marky admitted to Leo while on stage. “So, we’re both out of a job, dude. Taylor Lautner! We’re screwed. It’s over, dude. Titanic and Boogie Nights were a long time ago. I accept it. I had a good run and on to the next.” Leo nodded in agreement and the room roared with laughter. What did the object of the attention think of all this? “It’s so odd,” he told E! Online reporter Marc Malkin. “It’s such an honor. I’m up on the stage and talking in front of people like that? The people that I looked up to my entire life? Hearing words like that from Mark and everybody it’s just really surreal.”

Do you think Taylor has what it takes to be the next Leo or Mark? Let us know in the poll below!

Jonah Hill And Mark Wahlberg Team Up To Kill In Good-Time Gang

If and when there are ever two hired assassins sent to take us out, we could do worse than Jonah Hill and Mark Wahlberg in Good Time Gang. The LA Times reports the pair will star in the upcoming action-comedy film as “two party-happy mercenaries who decide to take on a more serious case involving a terrorist, only to find their mission complicated when they discover one of them is related to the target.” So basically Lethal Weapon, but with significantly more wiener jokes.

Wahlberg has already demonstrated his comedic chops in films like Date Night and The Other Guys, while Hill has been recently skewing more dramatic with the upcoming Moneyball, co-starring Brad Pitt. By the time production starts, both will have taken on action comedies, seeing as how 21 Jump Street recently finished shooting. Speaking of shooting, $10 says one or both of these characters accidentally fires wildly into the ceiling. No, actually make that $10,000.

Mark Wahlberg Pushes For The Fighter 2: More Fighter-ing

So we heard a rumor about Mark Wahlberg’s The Fighter sequel? What’s that all about? While at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards, Wahlberg promised a sequel to the film that his co-star Melissa Leo an Oscar, not that he plans to go crazy with it or anything. “We left out the Arturo Gatti fights for a reason,” the actor said, referencing specific bouts fought by Micky Ward, the boxer who inspired the film. “‘Cause that’s for Fighter 2. We’re not gonna do Fighter 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, but we’re gonna do 2. We’re gonna do the Ward/Gatti trilogy.” Considering that Wahlberg just shoot Ted with Mila Kunis, is cast in the upcoming The Silver Linings Playbook and is rumored for a Billy Jack remake, even one sequel might be difficult to squeeze in. Everyone in Hollywood, let’s just keep him busy enough so he can’t make eight. Oh, and if you could, say hi to your mother for him, okay?

Spike TV’s Annual Guys Choice Awards Brings Out The A-List

Spike TV’s Annual “Guys Choice Awards” Show almost got completely sidelined thanks to the MTV Movie Awards. Both shows happened on the weekend, but the Guys Choice was one day earlier. But never fear, we’ve got the pictures that matter. “Decade of Hotness” winner Jennifer Aniston receiving her award in a tiny Azzedine Alaia black dress on the stage, for one!

Newly 40 Mark Wahlberg also won both ”Guy of The Year” and the “Guy Movie of the Year”, while Keith Richards won the “Brass Balls” of the year (handed over to him by Robert de Niro no less)! Mila Kunis was on hand to receive the “Holy Grail of Hotness Award” from Justin Timberlake and Jim Carrey won “Funniest MF.” Sean Penn and Scarlett Johansson were there acting quite chummy, so the plot thickens! See what we mean? That’s a lot of A-List! Check out our gallery below for all the pictures.

Marky Turns 40: Happy Birthday, Mark Wahlberg!

It’s the highest compliment we can give Mark Wahlberg that we regularly forget he was once the shirtless dynamo Marky Mark. After two decades of quality film work in movies ranging from The Other Guys to Three Kings to Boogie Nights to The Departed—the last of which earning him an Oscar nomination—”Good Vibrations” is nowhere near the first thing that comes to mind when we think of him today. However, when we do think of “Good Vibrations,” we do remember that the successful actor was once the doofus brother of a New Kid On The Block, rapping about how vibrations are good like Sunkist with his pants around his ankles. And boy, do we laugh.

In honor of Wahlberg’s 40th birthday this Sunday, we’ve put together a a gallery chronicling the man’s twenties…an astounding decade where he managed to go from strutting naked at the Rock’n'Jock B-Ball Jam to winning respect at Cannes. Check out the gallery to see that remarkable evolution, as well as some priceless old school photo ops with other celebsremember, The Departed wasn’t the first time he worked with Leonardo DiCaprio!
