Stilettos, Skin And Snow: Estelle, Paris And Others Shiver For Style At Sundance

While we’ve spent some time this week admiring the very practical wardrobe choices of the stars at the Sundance Film Festival, we also had a few SMH moments as we flipped through some pics from Park City. Some celebrities refuse to trade in their typical Hollywood red-carpet style for puffy coats and Sorels. Take Estelle, for instance, who was at the festival for the first time.

“It’s cold! It’s snowy and cold! Why do they do this here?” the British songstress asked VH1 News as we noticed her beautiful, but very delicate, sparkly pumps. “Darling, I have to be fabulous! I don’t want duck boots! I have duck boots; I left them home in New York.”

But if she comes back again next year, she’ll give in. “I will be here in furs, big thick jumpers, boots, and I will not take them off for anybody. Layers are cute.”

Stars Re-create Martin Scorsese Movie Scenes For Harpers Bazaar

That’s Chloe Moretz and Keanu Reeves re-creating Taxi Driver for the November issue of Harpers Bazaar, by the way. The magazine pays homage to Martin Scorsese with a photo spread re-enacting some of his most memorable movie scenes. It’s a pretty fantastic idea with stars like Kate Bosworth doing The Age of Innocence and our favorite: Christina Hendricks posing for Gangs of New York.

The shoot accompanies an article with celebrities talking about their Marty moments — collaborations, anecdotes, stories from the set and such! Jodie Foster reminisces about Taxi Driver, saying, “When we were shooting Taxi Driver, I think Marty was really uncomfortable with the fact that I was so young. The memory I have is of him and Robert De Niro trying to tell me how to unzip [De Niro's] pants. And Marty keeps bursting out laughing. He can’t get a word out, and he tries to act serious, you know? He keeps smoothing down his face on both sides, but he just keeps laughing…” This one’s a classic, folks. Especially if you’re a movie buff. Scorcese’s first-ever 3-D family flick, Hugo, is in theaters on November 23.

What’s Up With Kate Bosworth’s Hair?

We’re so used to seeing Kate Bosworth perfectly put together in couture that this was a bit of a shock for us! The actress was seen sporting weird turquoise dip-dyed hair at a Coldplay concert yesterday at UCLA. This has got to be for a role, right? Is this her way of acting out after breaking up with Alexander Skarsgard? ‘Cause if we ever broke up with someone who looked like that, we’d be tearing our hair out, not dyeing it. Or is this Kate’s version of latent punk predilections coming out into the fore? Call us square, but we’re hoping it’s the former. What say you FAB nation?

Unlike the vampire’s sexy, sexy curse, true love doesn’t always last forever. US Weekly reports that Alexander Skarsgard and Kate Bosworth broke up, meaning your fantasies of Eric taking you as his immortal bride are one tiny step closer to coming true!

Having dated for almost two years, the couple apparently called it quits without us knowing about it. “It was very mutual,” a source claims. “And it happened a while ago.” According to another source, the True Blood star is single and already mingling, flirting with fans at the Film District party at San Diego Comic-Con. “He’s single,” the source reports, “and he is loving the attention!” Oh, and did we mention Alexander Skarsgard’s doctorate that he just received? It’s like he was engineered to be your boyfriend. Now all you have to do is dispatch Sookie, and all your crazy dreams will be realized!

Stars Get Their Hipster On At Coachella

Coachella 2011 just ended and as usual, tons of stars were around – both onstage and off – at the music festival. They all wore their best hippie chic gear, as is evident with the likes of Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Vanessa Hudgens (who, we kid you not, wore printed bell-bottoms). Some ladies did represent vintage, like Dita von Teese who looked like a 1940′s pin-up in a sailor hat, and Katy Perry, who went quasi-flapper!

It’s no secret that we have a massive crush on Ian Somerhalder and we’ve resolutely ignored rumors of him and Nina Dobrev dating because IT ISN’T HAPPENING. So him and Nina at Coachella? Casually almost draped over each other? Hanging out with Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger? Just because those two are a couple, doesn’t mean it’s a double date! (Someone hold us while we cry.) Celebs Storm Coachella Festival, Fight With Paparazzi

There may have been more stars in the audience than on stage at the Coachella Festival this weekend, with everyone from Lindsay Lohan to Kristen Stewart to Katy Perry to David Hasselhoff showing up to see acts like Pavement, Phoenix, Sly Stone and Muse among countless others. Though Alex Skarsgaard and Kate Bosworth aren’t exactly Jay-Z & Beyonce, the rumored couple’s public displays of affection—Alex put Kate up on his shoulders at one point—kept the shutterbugs on them all weekend. The True Blood star eventually snapped Saturday, having to be restrained by police after charging a pap with closed fists (no arrests were made). Vanessa Paradis has been an internationally famous singer since early adolescence, the 37-year-old knows she’s best known in the US for having two children with long-time partner Johnny Depp—someone she wasn’t hesitant to discuss at a Chanel dinner celebrating Rogue COCO, her new lipstick line, in NY last night. “I love his style, yeah, yeah, yeah!” she exclaimed to People. “I love him, and I don’t have to say I like this and I don’t like that. When you love somebody, you take them as they are. I would not change him.” Yeah, yeah, yeah! But do you really, really like him, Vanessa? As much as you like the quilt tiles on your dress?

“I like him very much in all terms and every sense of the way. He makes me happy. We are many things—we are together and, in a way, one person.” While Captain Jack wasn’t around to literalize her claims, Patti Smith—who joined Depp at Tim Burton’s MOMA party last year—and Kate Bosworth provided support in his stead.
