Jeremy Renner And His Friends Involved In An Ax Fight

When we get mad at someone, we usually just send them an angry text. And if we’re really pissed, maybe we’ll send an overly thought-out email. But Jeremy Renner and his friends tangoed with dudes who settle their disputes in a different, and much scarier, way: with AXES. Apparently Jeremy’s crew were traveling in Thailand when they got into a bar brawl that resulted in one man being slashed up with a rotor ax.

The incident took place at 4:30 a.m. this morning at a club in the town of Phuket, when one of Jeremy’s entourage apparently dropped a glass on the floor. According to TMZ, this triggered a violent response from six of the club’s managers, who reportedly began attacking Jeremy’s friends. The actor split when the fight broke out, his rep told TMZ, but one man, resort owner Vorasit Issara, was stabbed in the stomach with a knife and had his neck cut with an ax. Eyewitnesses say that he was in a fierce argument with the club staff immediately prior to the incident.

The six men who attacked the group are now in custody. For more, check out the video under the jump.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol Dominates Red Carpets Across The Globe

When we found out that Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol was heading to Rio (where they’re streaming the red carpet live), we realized that they’ve literally taken the movie across the globe. And by they, we mean actors Tom Cruise, Paula Patton (who is gorgeous, BTW) and Simon Pegg. Don’t worry, we already screamed, “Where’s Jeremy Renner” at the screen a bunch of times. Looks like he was busy doing the television interviews while they hopped on flights. The premieres started in Japan, moved to Seoul, covered Mumbai and Dubai, headed to Moscow, jumped to Madrid, Munich and Paris and made a pitstop in London. Gillian Anderson randomly turned up at the last one, FYI. So as you can see, that’s quite a journey they’ve been on. We figured it would be a good idea to put photographs from all the red carpets in one post so you can get your fill. But hurry up and look at the gallery, because this message will self destruct in five seconds.

Jeremy Renner Joins The Grand Tradition Of Celeb Barf Stories

Jeremy Renner might be starring in the upcoming Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol, The Bourne Legacy and The Avengers but a surer sign of his impending huge stardom is his willingness to talk about barf. Every (famous) person is doing it!

Tom [Cruise] is out there, running around, doing his thing all over the building. And we’re just standing there, sort of by the edge, and that is more terrifying,” Renner told HitFix about shooting a particularly terrifying aerial stunt. “And then once I hung out, 30 seconds of near vomiting almost happened. …Tom was laughing, he’s hanging upside down; he’s all red faced and he’s like, ‘Look at this view!’ I’m like, ‘What are you talking about? I’m gonna vomit on you.’” We don’t know if it’s a sign of some kind of innate artistic openness, or just the knowledge that people love a great vomit story, but Renner has hereby joined a proud history of puke tales, following in the barfy footsteps of celebs such as:

Kate Winslet: “My kids came to work for the vomit day,” the Academy-Award winner across said of her puke-tastic scene in the upcoming Carnage. “And I am so thrilled that they were there because they literally have not stopped talking about it since. It was hysterical.” Adds her scene partner John C. Reilly, “While Kate was the one who threw up, Jodie and I had to clean up the vomit. So we had the more disgusting involvement with the vomit.”

Jeremy Renner Heats Up Details December Cover

Thank you, Details, for putting Jeremy Renner on your December cover. It’s like an early Christmas present! We weren’t too happy that we haven’t seen the actor covering many magazines lately. The interview was conducted as he was shooting The Bourne Legacy, and if that doesn’t scream “tough guy,” then the fact that he’s studied Filipino stick fighting and Muay Thai martial arts should. But then again, he’s played a multitude of macho characters including Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and the upcoming The Avengers, following his Oscar-nominated breakout role in The Hurt Locker. So where exactly does professional makeup artist fit in? Yep, he’s been one in the past. And that makes us love him even more. Imagine: He looks awesome in a suit, but would also be able to do up your face before a big premiere.

Top 10 Most Tom Cruise Moments In The Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol Trailer

The new Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol trailer was released today and we can’t believe we forgot how crazy Tom Cruise is. Crazy good at being an action star, that is. Whether he’s sprinting down the side of a skyscraper or getting his undershirts terrifically soiled in the name of truth and honor, Cruise is back on the top of his game. We felt inspired to highlight out the top 10 most Tom Cruise moments of the new movie, due out December 21, based on what we’ve seen so far. Because let’s be honest: if anyone could outrun an explosion, jump in the air and not immediately explode into flames, it would definitely be ol’ Tommy boy.

Scarlett Johansson Poured Into A Bodysuit

This is possibly one of the better ways to start the week. Shooting for The Avengers has been on steadily but this weekend probably upped the ante for the whole crew. Scarlett Johansson has been filming her role of “The Black Widow” over the last couple of days and when you see her walking around, poured into a tight black bodysuit and that divine red hair — hello! These photographs were taken while ScarJo and the crew were shooting in Central Park in New York yesterday. And she’s been in very good company, because shooting alongside her have been Captain America and Hawk Eye — Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner. Check out our gallery for all the action.

New Trailer Alert: Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol Looks Awesome

You GUYS. We didn’t expect it at all, but after watching the trailer for Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, we’re dying to watch the movie. The Kremlin blowing up, Eminem in the soundtrack, Tom Cruise and his running, and that cast! Jeremy Renner, badass Indian actor Anil Kapoor, Josh Holloway (Lost fan alert) and Simon Pegg. Please tell us you love Simon as much as we do? Scotty in Star Trek (the 2009 version) is just the tip of the iceberg with him.

It’s everything you’d expect out of an MI movie, especially the stunts, which look un-frickin’-real. Tom Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt, his team and the WHOLE Impossible Mission Force are being blamed for the Kremlin attack and branded as terrorists. They’re allowed to escape as part of a plan to help them work outside of the agency, but none of them can be captured. Ready, set, go! And Tom looks great. Jeremy Renner looks delicious. And the eye-candy of the film, Paula Patton looks pretty good too. It’s a win-win.

Jeremy Renner Planning A Steve McQueen Biopic?

Did you know Jeremy Renner is a megastar? Sure, you probably knew that he stole Ben Affleck‘s The Town and got an Oscar nomination for The Hurt Locker. You may have even known he’s been a cult favorite since 2002′s Dahmer. But with Renner appearing in The Avengers as Hawkeye, as well as starring in the next Mission: Impossible and Bourne movies, Hollywood has basically put all of their action chips on the 40-year-old. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Jeremy plans to cash them in by making a Steve McQueen biopic, to be written by We Own The Night director James Gray.

Playing one of the studliest stars in Hollywood history seems like serious hubris, but look at it this way: if Renner manages to upstage Matt Damon and Tom Cruise in their own action franchises, and make his mark alongside Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and the other Avengers, he really should get to scream “aw, yeah, I’m the new Steve McQueen, baby!” in a vanity film. Plus, if his franchises fail, this McQueen movie will never get made.

Jeremy Renner Taking Over Bourne AND Mission: Impossible?

Hollywood practically ignored Jeremy Renner for the near-decade between his amazing turn in Dahmer and his Oscar-nominated Hurt Locker performance, but they seem to be making up for lost time. Despite the fact that he’s already filming a new Mission: Impossible film with Tom Cruise, Latino Review says Renner is Universal’s top choice to star in The Bourne Legacy, where he’d not so much replace Matt Damon as Jason Bourne but play another secret agent undergoing a rather Bourney predicament (far younger actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Garrett Hedlund were previously rumored for the role). Could the 40-year-old Renner really take over two of the biggest action franchises? If this guy can rock a British accent, Daniel Craig better watch his back!

Whether or not he gets the Bourne gig (shouldn’t they get someone who isn’t Matt’s age?), Renner has plenty of action cash coming—he’s already shooting both Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and there’s this little movie called The Avengers coming in 2012. Word dropped last week that Renner will cameo in Thor, out later this month, introducing audiences to his super-archer Hawkeye. If these films do well, the long-underrated actor could find himself one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Stars Stand Proud At The Oscar Nominees Luncheon

Before celebs can scoop up their Academy Awards later this month, first—if they want a better of shot of winning—they have to attend the show’s nominees luncheon. This year was no different, with potential “best” actors, actresses, supporting actors and supporting actresses all posing under a giant Oscar that stared down upon them like some ancient god. Natalie Portman, showing her trademark tact, didn’t highlight her baby bump, preferring to keep it hidden under a blue sash. But if we had to give anyone at yesterday’s function a trophy, it would be Mark Wahlberg for Trooper Of The Year, showing up as one of The Fighter‘s producers, despite being the only major cast member of The Fighter not to get an acting nomination, he still showed up, bas one of the film’s producers. He also served as a stand-in for the absent likely Supporting Actor winner Christian Bale. Can’t let Avengers Mark “Hulk” Ruffalo and Jeremy “Hawkeye” Renner steal the trophy out from under Batman!

See what all the stars wore in the gallery below.
