Chris Rock Wants Melissa McCarthy For His “Jerry Springer” Bride In New Movie

Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away, and love is in the air. Love of a good paternity-test joke, that is. While attending the Sundance premiere of his new dramedy Two Days in New York last week, Chris Rock admitted that he is currently making the moves on Bridesmaids breakout Melissa McCarthy. Comedically speaking, of course. “I’m trying to romance her,” the comedian revealed, explaining that he intends to snag McCarthy as the other half of the rowdy, dysfunctional “Jerry Springer couple” at the center of his new untitled script. Wait a minute … this rom-com sounds like it might actually have both romance and comedy in it! We knew it had to happen sometime! Steve Wilkos can cameo as their best man!

According to the L.A. Times, Rock has apparently “made some inroads” into wooing McCarthy for the part. A quick look at her IMDB page, however, suggests McCarthy’s dance card is filling up pretty fast, so Chris needs to lock it down now. Honestly, we’re not too worried about these two. We believe in a Rock/McCarthy team-up movie more than we believe in the existence of romantic love. Besides, is there anything more dreamy than the prospect of a choreographed two-person “You Are Not the Father” dance? We didn’t think so.

Sundance 2012: Stars Show Off Their Winter Best

“I am such a weird snow bunny,” MADtv alum Arden Myrin told VH1 News at Sundance over the weekend. “I have 40,000 outfit changes. I’ve got like 14 hats.”

Arden is bunny-hopping from her small-screen role in Suburgatory to two films appearing at Sundance, Wrong (about a man’s search for his lost dog) and Bachelorette (starring Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, Rebel Wilson and James Marsden). And she’s one of many actors, musicians and filmmakers relishing the chance to don their best knits, boots, scarves, furs and puffy coats in Park City this week. We like seeing them all bundled up like the rest of us who don’t reside in sunny California. Everyone from Coco to Robert Redford to Chris Rock to Skylar Grey ditched their typical red-carpet style for cozier gear. Check out the gallery below for a whole bunch of stars wearing their winter best. And come back soon for more photos from the film festival.

What To Expect When You’re Expecting Expects Pregnancy To Make You Insane

While you might think pregnancy is just an awesome nine-month-long vacation during which you can eat pickles and peanut butter and whatever other gross combination of foods you want without people giving you the side-eye, the What To Expect When You’re Expecting trailer teaches us a very different lesson: namely, that having a baby in your uterus makes you lose your damn mind. Of course, Elizabeth Banks‘ prenatal crack up isn’t the only topic covered by what appears to be a very informative film. From Dad-sthma to spontaneous dance routines to magical pregnancy unicorns, we broke down the important baby times lessons offered in the trailer for you. Because if you’re already pregnant, you know there is no way your ravaged mind can make sense of it on it’s own!

TONY Awards Red Carpet: The Older Ladies Do It Better

What was in the water when these ladies were growing up? ‘Cause we’ll have some! The 2011 TONY Awards took place yesterday at the Beacon Theatre in New York City and we’re in awe of the slew of all the “older” actresses that walked the carpet. We’re not being derogatory about age at all. We genuinely think that the so called young Hollywood lot could learn a thing or two from ladies like Edie Falco (aged 47), Ellen Barkin (57), Brooke Shields (46) and Marg Helgenberger (52) because they looked incredible. Christie Brinkley looked pretty damn fine too, but we didn’t like the strapless blue gown she wore. And God Bless her soul, we love you Whoopi Goldberg, but what the hell were you wearing? She had some bizarre hat and an outfit that looked like it was made from cheap curtains on, which you’ll able to see in our gallery below.

A word about the gentlemen during the evening. Could Neil Patrick Harris (he was the host of the show) and partner David Burtka get any more handsome? Al Pacino could have taken a couple of styling tips considering he wore a weird headband, but his girlfriend, gorgeous Lucila Sola (who is 40 years younger than him) didn’t seem to mind. Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Rock, Matthew Broderick, Don Cheadle all suited up too, so take a look at the pictures and tell us what you think.

Hot Gals, Schlubby Guys At Grown Ups Premiere

60851299

The number of TV shows and movies that involve a slovenly (but usually lovable and funny) guy paired up with a hot, sexy woman is huge. King of Queens, Knocked Up, Entourage, According to Jim, and now Grown Ups are all admissable in this category. If you were a foreigner looking in on American culture, you’d think that all women must be size 2 models whose only desires in a mate are a sense of humor and lack of vanity.

Cut to the premiere of Grown Ups, where this adage proves true, not only onscreen, but off. The male stars of this film couldn’t be bothered to even dress up for the red carpet (to be fair, David Spade and Rob Schneider look nice, but the rest of them – yeesh). Meanwhile, all the women in attendance looked hot and completely out of their league. Salma Hayek would still look more amazing than any of those men if she wore her Frida Kahlo unibrow and her Vampire’s Assistant beard. Need a closer look at the gender disparity? Take a gander at our gallery for proof.

MTV Movie Awards Live Chat

This year’s MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Aziz Ansari, will be just like the Oscars — except sillier, sexier and probably more fun. Christina Aguilera is making her big comeback performance; Katy Perry‘s promising to get naked (don’t hold your breath); the Jersey Shore cast will flaunt their Miami tans; and Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are presenting a new “Eclipse” clip. Stay with us as we break down the hotties and notties of the Movie Awards in our shared chat with MTV and BWE.tv.

Katie Holmes Embraces Zebra Stripes, Creepy Short Guy At Brit Movie Awards

Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes

Here’s some circumstantial evidence Katie Holmes isn’t just Tom Cruise‘s brainwashed bride. If Tom was really forcing Katie to take dance lessons and keeping her under constant watch, would he have allowed her to wear a long dress with height-enhancing diagonal stripes at the National Movie Awards in London yesterday? With heels? Though she was nice enough to tilt her head and lean forward on occasion (Tom-boosting tricks we’ve seen in films since Kelly McGillis hugged the doorway in Top Gun), there was no mistaking her giant stature compared to the diminutive action star. Then again, maybe Tom wants us to see her as some kind of amazon. “Me, domineering? Katie could toss me in the air like a baby, guys.”

Also attending the ceremony were stars like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Chris Rock, Simon Pegg, Crispin Glover and Gwyneth Paltrow, who was probably furious at TomKat for upstaging her space age tribute to Jackie O. Check it out in the red carpet gallery below.

Ciara Comes Out For Death At A Funeral Premiere

Ciara

Ciara‘s new single “Ride” doesn’t drop until later this month, but that didn’t stop the singer from stepping out to the Death At Funeral premiere in Hollywood yesterday. Most of the cast came out for the event, including Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, James Marsden, Tracy Morgan, Regina Hall and Zoe Saldana, along with well wishers like Eddie Murphy, Kevin James. Rock’s last collaboration with director Neil LaBute, 2000′s Nurse Betty, was a flop—will they have better luck with this twisted family comedy? See photos of these stars and more in the gallery below.

Keri Hilson Blows Away The NAACP Image Awards

Keri Hilson

No, that’s not the breeze—Keri Hilson‘s dress at the NAACP Image Awards Saturday just looked permanently windswept. The uninhibited singer not only performed at the ceremony but won Best New Artist, with Maxwell, Mary J. Blige and the Black Eyed Peas also taking home honors. In the cinematic categories, Precious, director Lee Daniels and stars Gabby Sidibe and Mo’Nique unsurprisingly snabbed trophies while Morgan Freeman won Best Actor for Invictus. See these stars and more in the red carpet gallery below.
