Whitney Houston Died From Prescription Drug, Alcohol Mix: Report

The L.A. County Coroner’s office told Whitney Houston’s family that the singer did not drown on Saturday, but appears to have died from a mix of prescription drugs, including Xanax, and alcohol, according to TMZ. There was not enough water in Houston’s lungs for her to have drowned, and she may have passed away before her head was submerged. A source also told the site that it was Houston’s aunt, Mary Jones, who found her in the bathtub after leaving her alone for half an hour.

Because there is no evidence of foul play, the coroner can release Houston’s body to her family, and her mother, Cissy Houston, has arranged for it to be flown to Atlanta as early as tomorrow, TMZ reports.

The site is also reporting that Houston’s 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, had a similar bathtub scare the day before her mother died. A friend had to get security to open the door to her hotel room when she wouldn’t respond to knocking, and she was found asleep in the tub. Bobbi Kristina was admitted to the hospital on Sunday for undisclosed reasons and released later that night.

Whitney Houston‘s shocking passing was apparently too much for her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, to handle. TMZ is reporting that Bobbi Kristina has been rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, but as of right now, the reasons for her visit are unclear.

TMZ reported last night that the 18-year-old daughter of Whitney and Bobby Brown got into an “angry shouting match” with law enforcement officials at the Beverly Hilton Hotel last night after they did not allow her into the room where Whitney Houston was found dead at the age of 48. Earlier today, Bobbi Kristina was taken out of the hotel on a stretcher and rushed by ambulance to the hospital, where she is currently being treated.

Bobby Brown, Mariah Carey, Clive Davis Mourn Whitney Houston Onstage And Online

While many of music’s biggest stars remembered Whitney Houston at the decidedly somber Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Party at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday night, Bobby Brown was onstage with New Edition in Mississippi, tearfully dedicating his show to his ex-wife. TMZ reported that Brown was “in and out of crying fits” after hearing the news of Houston’s death before the show, but he still went on with his performance. “First of all, I want to tell you that I love you all,” he told fans, according to The Associated Press. “Second, I would like to say, ‘I love you, Whitney.’ The hardest thing for me to do is to come on this stage.”

Back in Beverly Hills, as fans held a vigil for Houston outside the hotel, Davis asked his guests for a moment of silence. “I do have a heavy heart, and I am personally devastated by someone so close to me for so many years,” he said. “My heart goes out to her daughter Bobbi Kristina and her mother, Cissy.” Everyone from Tony Bennett to Diddy to Alicia Keys shared their memories of Houston at the party, MTV News reports.

Grammy Awards producer Ken Erlich told reporters that tonight’s event will now include a tribute to Houston sung by Jennifer Hudson. He said the ceremony will “recognize Whitney’s remarkable contribution to music fans in general, and in particular her close ties with the Grammy telecast and her Grammy wins and nominations over the years.”

Whitney Houston Death Details Surface: Drowning, Prescription Drugs Suspected

The morning after the tragic death of Whitney Houston, the cause of the singer’s sudden demise at age 48 remains a mystery. But sordid details about her last days and evidence in her Beverly Hills Hotel room are beginning to surface. An unresponsive Houston was found in her hotel bathtub, and police found prescription drugs in the room, sources told TMZ. The L.A. Coroner officials removed her body from the hotel at 1:50 a.m. PT and will conduct an autopsy today, ABC News reports.

Houston’s cousin, singer Dionne Warwick, and her mother, Cissy Houston, both spoke to Whitney earlier on Saturday and discussed their plans for the Clive Davis party that night in the hotel. Davis, Houston’s longtime friend and mentor, spoke at the party, dedicating the evening to her. “I do have a heavy heart, and I am personally devastated by someone so close to me for so many years,” he said.

Whitney Houston Dead At 48

Whitney Houston died this afternoon at the age of 48. The Grammy award-winning performer’s death was confirmed to the Associate Press by her rep, Kristen Foster. According to TMZ, paramedics were allegedly called to the Beverly Hilton hotel earlier today after Houston was found “unresponsive” in her room; though an attempt was made to revive the singer, she was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen has since verified that the singer did pass away at the hotel. Houston leaves behind one child, daughter Bobbi Kristina, with ex-husband Bobby Brown.

While Whitney Houston famously struggled with drug and alcohol abuse, entering rehab as recently as last May, she will be remembered most for her two Emmys, six Grammys, 30 Billboard Music awards and 22 American Music Awards. More importantly, no other person knew exactly how much we wanted to dance with somebody who loves us. She will be desperately missed.

Whitney Houston Goes Diva On Delta Airlines, Almost Gets Kicked Off Flight

Whitney Houston may be sober now, but she’s still a diva. Her latest shenanigans happened on a Delta Airways flight, where TMZ reports that she almost got kicked off due to refusing to put a seat belt on! The incident happened yesterday afternoon, when she got on a plane in Atlanta. Sources say that when approached by a crew member and asked to buckle up, Whitney unleashed her diva. Because sometimes egos are so big that seat belts can’t contain them.

It got so out of hand that another crew member had to intervene to give the songstress a warning — either buckle up or get off the plane. The story is that Whitney finally calmed down enough to allow a crew member to fasten the seat belt for her. Shall we even ask why she couldn’t do it herself?

The plane was only allowed to take off once Whitney had been buckled in, so we can’t imagine what the mood of the rest of the passengers was like during this ordeal. Sources close to the singer say that this behavior had nothing today with any substances whatsoever, revealing that she just, “overreacted a little bit after missing an earlier flight, but she’s still 100% sober and was on the way to Detroit for her first day of shooting a new movie.” Overreacted a little bit? Seriously? What would overreacting a whole lot be then? We don’t even want to go there!

Michael Jackson’s Pet Chimp Sucked Whitney Houston’s Toes

We’re gonna say it, Michael Jackson‘s pet chimp Bubbles is a bit of a superfreak. At least according to The Real Michael Jackson, a documentary made by lifelong Jackson friend and reality star David Gest. While the cameras rolled, Gest told the story of MJ’s simian companion putting some serious Quentin Tarantino moves on dinner guest Whitney Houston. “Whitney was having dinner with Michael at his Neverland home when she accidentally dropped her knife under the table,” Gest explained. Ever the gentleman, Mike got down on his hands and knees to retrieve it for her. And suddenly Whitney felt the sensation of her toes being sucked. But instead of being freaked out, she was kinda into it. “She moaned, ‘Michael, is that you? Don’t stop. That’s so sensual.’” Gest continued, creating a mental-scene so bizarre that the only way to make it weirder is the addition of a monkey. “Yet Michael’s head popped up and her toes were still being sucked. It turned out it was Bubbles.” We can’t imagine Bobby Brown was cool with this. Did he go all Marcelles Wallace on Bubbles!?

Prince Denies Banning Whitney From Shows: “She’s Welcome 4 All Of Eternity”

We knew the gossip about Prince banning Whitney Houston from his concerts was 2 nasty 2 b true. Oh sure, Prince’s handlers may have planned to keep her from getting on his stage again, but u know Prince himself would never make such a decree. The Purple 1 has issued a statement denying that Whitney will b forced to watch his concerts from the cheap seats.

Whitney Houston is always welcome at Prince shows 4 all of eternity. Seeing her at 2 shows at The Forum in L.A. was a treat, especially when she sang with Chaka Khan and danced with Prince during his set. We love her always.

Granted, Whitney’s song with Chaka was…a little pitchy, and Prince only allowed Whitney 2 dance during his set. But with Whitney headed back 2 rehab, hopefully she’ll b in a better state next time she shows up at the Forum…or b happy to play the cowbell. Also, if u think it’s cheesy 2 write like Prince when reporting on him…don’t knock it till u try it.

Whitney Houston Banned From Prince Concerts?

We won’t see another video of Whitney Houston wrecking a Prince concert…not if Prince can help it. TMZ reports that Whitney is no longer allowed to attend his concerts, after making a scene at multiple engagements. According to their sources, Whitney frequently asked to be let on stage, with the Purple One’s team rebuffing her, worried she’d “embarrass” herself. Considering what happened when opening act Chaka Khan let Whitney on stage (click on the link if you missed it!), their worries were pretty well founded.

With Whitney off to rehab to prepare for a movie, it’s not likely she’ll be bugging Prince any time soon. But next time she wants to, she’ll have to try from the cheap seats.

Whitney Houston And Ray J: Back On?

We totally forgot about the time a couple years ago when Whitney Houston dated Ray J (it’s so hard to remember all the paramours competing for his love). Things cooled off for a while, but the pair was spotted out together this weekend, reviving the rumors that they’re back on.

Ray J denied that their dinner Saturday night in Atlanta was a date the only way celebs know how these days, via Twitter. He wrote “I’m am not in a relationship with Whitney. She is a great friend of mine. I had dinner with her in Atlanta the other day. That’s all! Damn!” but photos from this weekend show them getting into each others’ personal space and one source says Ray J spent the night at Houston‘s suite at the Ritz Carlton. He even postponed the promotional tour for his new album to be with her.

They might be friends, we won’t argue that, but it sounds like they’re the kind with benefits. And really, when it comes down to it, any relationship that Whitney is in that doesn’t televise her doodie bubbles being dug out is fine with us.
