“Fun, Fearless Males” Come Out For Cosmo Party

FAMOUS BROS

New York got a hot beef injection last night thanks to Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Fun Fearless Male Awards of 2010 at the Mandarin Orange Hotel. Among those proving their fearlessness by embracing the phrase “Fun Fearless Male” were Gerard Butler (always game for a goofy photo op), Twilight studs Kellan Lutz and Paul Wesley, True Blood vampire Stephen Moyer, Gossip Girl vampire Ed Westwick, TV detectives Chris O’Donnell and Nathan Fillion, Terrell Owens, Dr. Oz and Ne-Yo—the funnest, most fearless male of all. Soak up the stud sauce in the gallery below.

Ne-Yo Kicks Out Clubbers

Do not touch Ne-Yo’s hat. We repeat, do NOT touch the hat. The star took things very seriously when out clubbing in London on Tuesday night, and got two fools who tried to take his trademark headgear thrown out of the West End spot.

“Two guys thought it would be hilarious to try to get Ne-Yo’s hat. But when they tried, security stepped in and they were quickly dispatched from the club,” says an onlooker.

Thankfully, the drama calmed down and Ne-Yo was able to continue partying with his coterie of former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams — currently appearing in Chicago in the West End — and David Hasselhoff. The Hoff was in good form, spending the second night in a row at the club (obviously only drinking fizzy pop) and on the arm of a very young-looking brunette. [Photo: FilmMagic]

2009 Grammy Winners: The Fogey’s Curse Strikes Again!

While Scandalist is proud to announce that we predicted seventeen of last night’s Grammy winners, we’re still a little embarrassed. We couldn’t have guessed that the NARAS would pick the lesser-known Adele over Duffy for two awards, or that they’d love John Mayer’s Rock Vocal even more than Bruce Springsteen’s. But we’re disappointed that we underestimated the Fogey’s Curse. Robert Plant & Alison Krauss were a lock for Album Of The Year, but five awards for five nominations?  We’ll never doubt you again, aging voters!

Here are some of last night’s big winners.

  • Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, “Please Read The Letter”

The pair took home Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best Pop Collaboration, Best Country Collaboration and Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album. Talk about crossing genres.

  • Adele, “Chasing Pavements”

Adele’s sales may be smaller than Duffy’s, but she still won Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Ne-Yo Freaks Out On Blog Over Gay Rumors, Deletes Post

Ne-Yo is not gay, people. He’s complex. Yes, he paid tribute to Barbra Streisand…but he also grinds on his dancers! Yes, he writes songs about being in love with the boy next door…but they’re meant to be sung by women! Is it his gorgeous eyes, his dainty mannerisms? Those old photos of him wearing lipstick? Why do you question his heterosexuality? After four years of rumors, Ne-Yo is sick, sick, sick of your slander. Now you’ve made him blog out his frustration.

One rule of being a gentleman is to keep your cool and composure at all cost, but right about now I gotta loosen up this tie and take off this expensive suit jacket and talk to the people for a minute. The haters especially. Pardon my french, but what the f— is wrong with y’all!?!  Are you so desperate for an R&B bad guy that you gotta find a way to create one in me??

The whole gay thing. For goodness sake it’s been 4 years!!!! Y’all still on that huh? …

I mean come on people. Is this really what you’re gonna spend time on?? Will you not be satisfied until I truly become this asshole you so desperately want me to look like?? Here’s my stand on the whole thing: I’m NOT gay, I’m NOT prejudice to anyone, I DID NOT get stomped out by Jim Jones or anyone else, I’m NOT engaged, I’M NOT STUPID. And to anyone that INSISTS on thinking that any of these things are true……F— YOU. To the haters….find some new material please!!! It’s 2009, our president is black!!! Time for change.

While we sympathize with the gentleman, a blog post that ends “See you at the grammy’s. Check the suit…..it’s gonna be TROUBLE!!!” probably won’t curb the whispers. Ne-Yo must have agreed, as the post has since been deleted.

Ne-Yo Grinds Hotties As Questions Linger Over NYE No-Show

Ne-Yo fans in the Seattle area are pissed off that the “Closer” singer failed to appear at heavily promoted New Year’s Eve gig. Tickets started at $75, with VIP tables going for $1,200. “At 11:30 they had a pre-recorded message from Ne-Yo,” said an attendee. “He was on a plane from Nigeria and not able to come.” As they grumbled, Ne-Yo could be seen singing and dancing on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, though it is unclear whether the footage was pre-recorded or not.

With the sponsor and the local promoter AWOL, no one has been able to request a refund. Was the show a hoax or did Ne-Yo really prance off to Nigeria after pre-recording a performance for Dick Clark? The flyer for the event features the web address of a fan page rather than Ne-Yo’s official site, and this wouldn’t be the first time a promoter lied about where Ne-Yo was “stuck.” Apparently unfazed by this confusion, Ne-Yo performed in Hawaii on Monday night, with shows in Japan and England planned for the next few weeks. Check out the gallery to see the bumping and grinding Washingtonians missed out on.

Streisand Kisses Bush And Rockers Dress Respectably At Kennedy Center Honors

The conservative pundits were right! Barack Obama has stacked his cabinet with celebrities like Morgan Freeman, Barbra Streisand, George Jones, The Who and Twyla Tharp! Dude is crazy!

Actually, those five are the line-up of 2008 Kennedy Center Honorees, who were treated to a fine fete last night. Obama wasn’t present—though Streisand took a peck on the cheek from our current president, yow—but plenty of stars were there to salute and perform for the legends of film, song and stage. The ceremony won’t air on CBS until December 30th, so you’ll just have to check out the gallery to see who got gussied up for the event.

A lot was learned from Monday’s premiere of Cadillac Records — and not just that Beyonce nails her performance as a tormented Etta James.
