AMAs Most Questionable Fashions: We Can’t Make Up Our Minds!

Of all the fashions we spotted on the red carpet and onstage at last night’s AMAs, there were some that were clearly awesome and others that hurt our delicate eyes. But then there was the middle ground. The outfits that confuse our sense of right and wrong. Daring, but maybe too much. Awful, but maybe in an interesting way. Gorgeous if only they fit better.

Maybe you can help us out: Were Justin Bieber‘s tiger-striped pants hideous or hilarious? Should we admire J.Lo‘s nude bodysuit on the grounds that it showed off her assets? If Jennifer Hudson looked so uncomfortable in her super-short gold dress, does that detract from its hotness? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter @theFABlife.

Celebrities Tweet Condolences For Nate Dogg, Family Discusses Cause of Death

Yesterday we posted the extremely sad news of Nate Dogg‘s death. His passing was met with a fair amount of shock because the entertainer was only 41 years old, and no details had emerged about what caused him to die. While the official cause hasn’t yet been stated, Nate’s family is speaking out about what the possible cause could be. His manager and close friend Rod McGrew said he was, “95% recovered from the first stroke in 2007.” Nate had suffered two strokes — one in 2007 and one in 2008 — which left him partial paralyzed and with memory loss. What’s confusing about this is that McGrew revealed that Nate had “cognitively recovered,” and was functioning and alert in the days leading up to his death.

Either way, McGrew’s given a statement on the family’s (and his) behalf that reads, “We appreciate the enormous outpouring of response from all over the world. We greatly appreciate that and thank everyone for their prayers and support. We know that Nate will be hanging out with his good friend 2Pac and Biggie.” Meanwhile, the music community are pouring in tributes and condolences for their friend.

Snoop Dogg tweeted, “We lost a true legend n hip hop n rnb. One of my best friends n a brother to me since 1986 when I was a sophomore at poly high where we met.” And, “I love u buddy luv. U will always b wit me 4ever n a day u put the g n g funk u put the 1 n 213 n u put yo stamp on evrybdy u ever didit wit.”

Ludacris tweeted, “RIP NATE DOGG!!!”

Chris Brown Sings New Track A Capella, Going To Make Us “Wet The Bed”

Chris Brown must be in a giving mood. Rihanna’s restraining order against him was officially eased in an LA court yesterday, meaning he can once again talk to the ex-girlfriend he brutally beat in 2009, as long as he doesn’t “annoy” her. His new album F.A.M.E. (Fans Are My Everything) comes out in a month, and he has two singles in the Top 30. Not bad for a guy who some would have predicted would be doing tragic reality shows or worse by now.

Proof of his good spirit came at his All-Star party last week in LA, where he dropped an a capella version of “Wet The Bed,” a risque track on F.A.M.E. Check out the video to watch Chris sing “cuz I’m gonna kiss you right…there…I’m gonna lick all night…yeah…girl, you heard what I said—I’m gonna make you wet the bed.” The studio version will reportedly feature Ludacris, so it’s likely the lyrics will get even more extreme than that.

Ludacris Makes $100k To Perform With Washed-Up Celebrities

We’d like to sit down with millionaire Jason Hope and advise him about how to spend his millions. For someone with so much money, brain cells seem to be less abundant. The dude threw a fancy pants Christmas party and paid Ludacris $100,000 to perform for 45 minutes. Which is cool y’know…we love Luda. But he just made some insane cash off this Jason guy!

We also don’t disagree at all with decision to bring Ludacris on stage, because quite frankly, the rest of the guest list made us question Mr Millionaire’s sanity far more. Hope threw some serious dollar bills to make sure that “celebrities” would attend his party in Arizona. The quotation marks are intentional, because take a look at the guest list TMZ provided, along with the amount each person was paid to show up.

Snooki – $17,500
Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt – $12,500 each
Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul – $16,000
The Kardashian stepfather Bruce Jenner – $15,000
Giuliana and Bill Rancic – $15,000 total
Dean Cain – $5,000

So tell us, dear readers. Money well spent?

Rap’s Top 20 Richest Artists Revealed

rich-rappers-550

First things first: Do people still say the word “bling”? Or is that term a relic of a bygone era? Either way, it’s no secret that there is a lot of money to be made by becoming a global hip-hop icon these days. So much so, in fact, that a normally hoity-toity magazine like Forbes has been putting together lists of the Top 20 Hip-Hop Cash Kings since 2007. To that end, the high-falutin’ magazine is putting its fawning coverage of Wall Street robber barons in a temporary holding pattern as they focus their efforts on counting down which rappers are making the most cheddar in 2010.

While you most certainly won’t be surprised to find out that Jay-Z currently holds the title as hip-hop’s wealthiest mogul — he raked in some $63 million last year, no big whoops — you might be surprised when you hear that Lil Wayne places fourth on the list, this despite the fact that he’s been behind bars since March. Hilariously, Weezy’s actually on track to earn more money this year ($20 million) than he did last year ($18 million).

Check out our gallery below to find out who else made the list (and how much they took home). Only one question remains: If hip-hop’s wealthiest don’t spend money on “bling” anymore, what do they spend it on?
