Red Carpet Report: The 2011 AmfAR Inspiration Gala

The AmFar Inspiration Gallery took place last night at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the red carpet was a mixed bag. Courtney Love showed up, obviously, looking like a train wreck. How does she end up everywhere? Designers Michael Kors (who won the amfAR Award of Courage) and Kenneth Cole posed with a stunning Heidi Klum. James Franco suited up to receive his amfAR Award of Inspiration, while a teeny-waisted Jennifer Hudson performed. Ke$ha showed up looking drunk as usual and wearing an Abed Mahfouz gown that looked not exactly right on her. Add a clutch of models like Alek Wek and Chanel Iman and a totally incredible Rufus Wainwright, and voila! — successful event, check. Stars On The AmFar Cinema Against Aids 2011 Red Carpet

This is the life! The eighteenth annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala took place yesterday at the Cannes Film Festival. The super schmancy event was held at the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France and involved the usual — gowns and jewelry worth approximately three of our lifetimes! Kirsten Dunst showed up looking as fresh as a daisy, completely unaffected by the rumor that her nighttime partying kept Brangelina up all night.

Janet Jackson looked pretty svelte and rocked some bright blue nail polish! Irina Shayk showed up with a slit cut up till there, while cuties Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto snuggled up for the cameras. Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani added a bit of punk to the proceedings while old hands Goldie Hawn and Brooke Shields looked flawless in dull gold and white respectively. New Book Alleges Courtney Love Wanted To Snort Kurt Cobain’s Ashes

Rock author Neil Strauss is revealing some bizarre details about Courtney Love in his new book Everyone Loves You When You’re Dead. And as the name suggests, it’s pretty morbid. Strauss alleges that Love wanted to snort the ashes of her late husband Kurt Cobain, along with him. Uh, thanks, but no thanks.

The weird activity was apparently suggested when he was interviewing her, while she was fronting Hole. He says, “She was serious when she made the suggestion. She actually said she would offer his ashes to me first to snort and the said she would like them. But the idea was nixed as I don’t do coke”. The exchange is fleshed out in the book and states that it all went down in Love’s home in L.A where she showed him a a tin which contained a plastic bag full of ashes and said, “Say hi to Kurt”. She also supposedly added, “Too bad you don’t do coke. Otherwise I’d suggest taking a metal straw to it”, to which he responded, “Yeah, I don’t think that would be the right thing to do”. Strauss then writes that her reply was, “I’d like to though”. Okay, we don’t know what to say to that. It’s just too creepy for us. So we’re just going to stick with R.I.P Kurt!
