There was no shortage of red leather, single gloves, and shoulder pads at the BET Awards last night. From the red carpet to the stage, everyone from host Jamie Foxx to Ciara to Lil Wayne honored the trademark style of Michael Jackson.

Kicking off the North American leg of her world tour at Madison Square Garden last night, Beyonce and her alter-ego Sasha Fierce — not to mention a mind-blowing number of costume changes —  proved that they’re putting on the biggest pop music spectacle of the summer. But in terms of sheer sex appeal, Beyonce has some stiff competition from singer/model Ciara, who performed in London earlier this month and will play U.S. venues in July. Britney Spears’s attempts to break free of her “prison” life are getting frustrating. For every baby step forward she takes, it seems she’s slammed two steps back. On the positive, normal side, Britney’s agent beau Jason Trawick took the star out to the Brick Lane area in London’s cool East End — a world away from her stifled, five-star hotel existence in Mayfair — to sample one of its famous curries. “She was really excited about having a fun night out with her boys and Jason,” reports the London Paper.

Yay! Britney in normal-person’s-trip-out shock! But wait — who’s that in the wings? Why, it’s comedy dad-villain Jamie, who then apparently nixed Brit’s plans to go out with backup act Ciara on Saturday night, and hit royal hangout Boujis on Sunday. “Her father has kept her on a tight leash since arriving in the UK and she’s rarely left her hotel suite for most of the time that she hasn’t been performing,” says a source.

But could Jamie’s pincer-like grip on his daughter come under threat from her new boyfriend, who clearly takes a more relaxed attitude to helping Britney get her life back? We can’t wait to see what happens! [Photo: Splash News Online]

The attention-loving Kim Kardashian wasn’t shy about her plans yesterday. She took to her beloved Twitter to tell the world, “Shopping w the girls! Then gonna grab a bite to eat @ the Ivy! Haven’t been in so long! Yummy food but lots of people!”

The girls included her new best buddy Ciara, who she’s been spotted with all over Los Angeles. But apparently the gal pals don’t have much to chat about while dining at the notoriously celeb-cluttered restaurant  - the pair was spotted staring at their Blackberries instead of girl talkin’. Maybe they were just too busy BBMing each other to actually speak?

While the ample derrieres of Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian have often been compared, now it seems their similarities have moved north to their squinted red carpet gaze. At the Maxim Hot 100 party last night, Kim K. pulled off an amazing J-Lo impression! Though she dressed surprisingly conservative for the annual celebration of sexy, fellow honorees Tila Tequila, Gabrielle Union and Ciara picked up her slack by showing more skin. See pics below.

We’ve already exposed the Costume Gala’s worst-dressed celebs. But for every fashion misfire at this glamour fest, dozens of stunning outfits created by the world’s best designers adorned the stunning bodies of the world’s most famous people. This year’s theme was “The Model as Muse.” So it should come as no surprise that skin was on display in abundance. From open-backed gowns (Kate Moss, Ciara) to high hems (Gisele, Rachel Bilson) to semi-bare midriffs (Claudia Schiffer, Eva Longoria Parker), the gala was an orgy of flawless flesh. Check the pics.

The New York Post reports that Ciara and 50 Cent recently spent the night at a suite in a Times Square hotel. Says their source, “there was only one bed in that penthouse.” Gasp! You mean Fiddy had to sleep on the sofa?

Rumors have swarmed around the pair since they filmed a steamy video for  “Can’t Leave ‘Em Alone” two years ago, but they’ve never admitted to anything other than friendship. Still, we wouldn’t be surprised if a successful CEO like Fiddy made sure that friendship—like everything else—came with benefits.

We don’t have much to say about this new Ciara music video for “Love Sex Magic” featuring Justin Timberlake — other than it’s sexy! Like uber sexy. Watch Ciara give JT a hot lap dance, including lots of booty bumpin’, rubbin’, slappin’ and of course lickin’. This video totally exudes love sex magic.

Most of the stars looked downright amazing at this year’s VMAs — including Britney Spears, who swept up all the Moonmen at this year’s show but disappointed some fans by not performing her latest hit (”Gimme More”). It’s almost impossible to find fault with the statuesque Ciara, but we can’t let her mop-head wig go without comment. Was she going for a retro Tina Turner look? We want her old hair back.

9. RIHANNA

Another singer with one name who looks flawless 99 percent of the time, we tried to write off Rihanna’s Thriller-esque stage outfit as a dramatic prop. But that carpet on her ass put us over the edge.
