2011 brought along with it a host of new fashion trends, from long-sleeved gowns to daytime sequins to the ever-unfortunate mullet dress. The biggest trend of all, however, seems to have been stars looking like a volcanically hot mess. Yes, like a single strand of pearls or a little black dress, celebrities sashaying down the red carpet in cringe-inducing couture never gets old. After all, these are people who all have stylists. Who they pay real money. To make them look good. We know.

25 Apologies We’ll Fondly Remember From 2011

In the age of Twitter, it’s pretty amazing that more celebrities aren’t putting their foot in it these days. But enough of our favorite (or least favorite) actors, musicians and other public figures managed to say and do the kind of awful things that simultaneously give publicists strokes and keep them in business. After those awful things come the kind of public apologies that make us cringe, squirm and thank god we’re not in their shoes. From Chris Brown to Gilbert Gottfried, Arnold Schwarzenegger to Lea Michele, Hilary Swank to Mythbusters, we had a lot of Schadenfreude to enjoy in 2011. We’re pretty sure the culprits would like us to forget these moments, but here’s a little gallery to remind you:

Celebrate Christina Aguilera’s Birthday With 25 Photos Of Her Hair-volution

We’re going to take a wild guess that Christina Aguilera has enjoyed this year better than last — while 2010 featured a divorce, a panned movie debut and a scrapped tour, 2011 saw her dominate the charts with Maroon 5 and “Moves Like Jagger” while she doled out advice to singers on the hit show The Voice. Oh, well, we’re just going to pretend that little Super Bowl incident happened in 2010 — February can go either way, right? Oh, but there was that sort-of arrest too. Well, let’s look forward to 2012, Xtina.

But first, to celebrate your 31st b-day on Sunday, we’re also offering this helpful little look back at your hairstyles over the past 11 years, because you sometimes need a reminder of what works and what doesn’t. AMAs Worst Fashion: Christina Aguilera’s Bandage Dress And Other Catastrophes

While some of the stars brought their A fashion game to the AMAs last night, we’re convinced that a few others let their stylists leave for Thanksgiving break early. Surely a professional would prevent Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera from choosing the least flattering gowns for their body type this side of our high school prom. Jennifer Lopez managed to land in our best- and worst-dressed lists (and an upcoming questionable list), thanks to her numerous costume changes and unfortunate decision to continue plugging Fiat in the middle of her performance. Now, we’re pretty sure red-carpet staple Phoebe Price and LMFAO‘s Redfoo were trying to land on this lists, but David Hasselhoff hurt our eyes in those boxers. Keep your pants on, Hoff. Please.

Christina Aguilera Is So In Love, She Forgot How Cameras Work

Christina Aguilera looked head over heels in love with boyfriend Matthew Rutler at the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launch party at the Belasco Theater in L.A. last night. However, while must of us go through the snuggly bunny phase of our relationship in the safety of our own homes, Xtina seems oblivious to the flashing lights of paparazzi as she and Rutler got their kissy face on in the middle of the red carpet. Unless…unless Aguilera walked the red carpet specifically just to show off her love? Now that we think about it, a video game premiere does seem like a pretty random event for Xtina to attend. Oh, we’re on to you, Aguilera!

Christina Aguilera, Mall Cop

Christina Aguilera is under no obligation to slip into a leotard and fishnets for all her performances, but what in the name of Kevin-James-looking, Segway-riding, crime-busting mall police did she wear to yesterday’s Disney Parks Christmas Day parade? A long sleeve white button plus an undone silk tie equals Xtina chasing a pack of rowdy teens out of Express. Seriously, it’s rarely a good sign when Minnie Mouse’s Mrs. Santa dress looks more pulled together. Are we right about this, or are we just being a bunch of Grinches?

Kelly Osbourne Rips On “Fat” Christina Aguilera

We can’t say we didn’t see this Kelly Osbourne Christina Aguilera feud coming a mile away, but we had no idea how nasty it was going to get. The gloves are off and the fat jokes are flying! “She called me fat for years,” Osbourne snarked on E!’s Fashion Police, referring to recent Christina Aguilera photos from the Michael Jackson tribute concert earlier this month. ” I was never that fat.” Hoo boy! Kelly is very lucking she’s not dealing with “Dirrty”-era Xtina. Otherwise Aguilera would have already come at her like Mike Tyson in a pair of assess chaps.

Osbourne had previously ragged on Christina Aguilera’s weight gain back in August, explaining, “Maybe she is just becoming the fat b—ch she was born to be.” Clearly we’re all entering the conversation mid-beef, because as Kelly tweeted at an indignant Xtina fan yesterday, “or maybe its because she bullied me for 10 years and now pay back is a bitch?” So what do you think? Are these comments way, way over-the-line, or are we just witnessing one half of your standard celebrity beef?

A Note To Christina Aguilera’s Stylists

Dear People of Christina,

As a precursor to what we’re going to say, can we state that we do love Christina Aguilera? So what we’re about to say comes out of concern! We’d like to have a word with whoever is taking care of the singer’s hair and wardrobe because as far as we know, both of them have been on a steady decline.

Beyonce Bows Out Of Michael Jackson Tribute Gig?

Despite initial reports that her pregnancy wouldn’t stop her from Moonwalking, Beyonce has apparently pulled out of the high profile Michael Jackson tribute concert this October. Bebe was supposed to have her spot beamed in live via satellite to the concert arena in Cardiff, Wales, but a source tells RadarOnline that this is sadly no longer the case. Instead she will be offering up a ”a special contribution on video.” No word yet on why the singer had to take a downgrade, but we’re guessing it’s pregnancy related. But fans who already have tickets to the sold out gig probably aren’t too bummed. They still have performances from Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Gladys Knight, Ne-Yo and Smokey Robinson to look forward to!
