15 Jersey Characters We Hope Katherine Heigl Studied For One For The Money

One For The Money starring Katherine Heigl opens wide today, and it shows her in a way we aren’t used to seeing her. No, we don’t just mean “brunette.” The film is based on the best-selling novel about Stephanie Plum, a down-on-her-luck lady from New Jersey who turns to bounty hunting to make some cash. The tough-as-nails Jersey girl part seems a bit of a stretch for Heigl. So let’s hope she researched by watching some other classic characters hailing from the great Garden State. Report: Clarence Clemons Suffers Stroke In Florida

Longtime E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons suffered a stroke at his home in Florida, according to Showbiz411. While there has been no official confirmation of his condition, the site said the 69-year-old is “seriously ill” and that Bruce Springsteen and his bandmates were told to visit him as soon as possible. Clemons has played with Springsteen’s band since 1972, quickly becoming well known to audiences as “The Big Man.” Though ill enough in recent years to require a wheelchair on stage, the saxophonist returned to the limelight in 2011 thanks to his multiple appearances on Lady Gaga‘s new album, Born This Way, even performing “Edge Of Glory” with the singer on last month’ American Idol finale.

The Black Eyed Peas To Win The Super Bowl

The results of this year’s Super Bowl are in! No matter which team hits the most home-runs into the net (or however it works), the winner of Super Bowl XLV will be the Black Eyed Peas. The band has just been tapped to play the coveted halftime gig on February 7th at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This is just the highlight of a stellar month for the group, in which they earned an AMA for Best Pop Group and got serious buzz for their upcoming album The Beginning, which comes out tomorrow.

The Peas will be a change of pace for the Super Bowl Sunday crowd, who have been favoring classic rock bands following the fall-out from Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson‘s controversial performance in 2004. We guess they thought it was unlikely for Paul McCartney or Bruce Springsteen to have a “wardrobe malfunction.” But times have changed, and apparently FOX is ready for a dose of Fergie’s humps.

“They could have picked anybody,” will.i.am gushed to Rolling Stone. “They could rock a million and get Cheap Trick. I love me some Cheap Trick, those motherf—ers is dope. But it says something that they picked us.” But it says something that they picked us.” Maybe it says that baby-boomer bands aren’t drawing ratings like they used to, and Gaga was busy. But can we expect a Black Eyed Peas-Cheap Trick duet!? That would be enough awesome to win every Super Bowl until the end of time.

Lady Gaga Goes Costume Crazy In London

Lady Gaga wore over 100 hot outfits in 2009, and 2010 is looking to be just as wild. For all the nun habits and mossy monstrosities worn at her concerts in London this weekend, Gaga looked just as outrageous stepping in and out of her hotel. Among our favorites were Friday’s red and black RoboMountie one-piece, the lobster mask she wore to her afterparty at Mr. Chow (glad guest Bruce Springsteen—you read that correctly—was around to enjoy it) and the fringe-festooned golden dress she wore Saturday, suggesting she could always settle for simple glamor if she ever gets tired of the au courant insanity. Not that she is, judging from the black lace we-don’t-know-what she wore to the Mac Viva Glam launch earlier today. See these looks and shots from the concert in the gallery below.

“Hope For Haiti” To Include Jay-Z, Bono, President Clinton, Oprah, Dozens More

The official Hope for Haiti Now telethon lineup has just been announced, and this show is going to be even bigger than we had imagined. Rarely, if ever, have so many of the world’s biggest musicians mobilized so quickly with Hollywood elite (plus President Clinton and Oprah) to lend a helping hand in a time of tragedy. If only George Clooney, the mastermind behind the telethon, had been responsible for the relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina!

We already reported that the Hope for Haiti Now lineup will include Robert Pattinson, Bono, Jay-Z, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Shakira. Now we can provide the full, official lineup. Of particular interest will be headliners Jay-Z and Bono (a rock/rap collaboration for the ages) and Justin Timberlake.

Haiti Telethon Lineup: RPattz Added And Just About Every Other A-lister, Too

When news broke that George Clooney‘s Hope for Haiti Now telethon would airing Friday at 8PM EST on VH1, MTV and just about every channel on your television set, scant details were available as to which celebs would be involved in the show. But that didn’t stop us from starting our Official Hope For Haiti Now Telethon Lineup guessing game. We’re happy to report that our initial list is shaping up to be remarkably accurate (Anderson Cooper‘s involvement doesn’t count because he’s a newsman who sometimes acts like a celebrity, not an actual celebrity).

Performing at the Hope for Haiti Now telethon: Bono, Jay-Z, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Shakira and many others who have yet to be announced. There will also be no shortage of A-listers either speaking or manning the phones to take donations, according to E! Online. So if you’ve ever wanted to ring Jennifer Aniston or Jon Hamm late one lonely Friday night, this may be your one and only shot. Also participating are Jake Gyllenhaal, Brad Pitt, Colin Farrell, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, Renee Zellweger, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Gabby Sidibe, Chris Pine and Emily Blunt.

As for Robert Pattinson, he’ll be hosting the London segment of Hope for Haiti Now. Clooney and pals will be based at the show’s headquarters in Los Angeles while Anderson Cooper reports from Ground Zero in Haiti. Performances will take place in L.A., New York and London.

Bruce Springsteen’s Cousin Found Dead

This is sooo shocking and creepy. Bruce Springsteen‘s cousin and assistant road manager was found dead in his hotel room in Kansas City on Monday. “Lenny Sullivan, Bruce’s cousin and the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the last ten years, passed away at the age of 36. A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family,” a statement read. Did The Boss Break Up A Marriage?

We’ve always envisioned Bruce Springsteen as the ideal husband, even if he did allegedly cheat on his first wife, actress Julianne Phillips, with his current wife, backup singer Patti Scialfa. The pair’s been married for 17 years, and have three kids together. But now the Boss is being accused of breaking up a marriage – and it’s not his own.

New Jersey resident Arthur Kelly has named the singer as the man his wife Ann’s been cheating with secretly, effectively ending their marriage. The divorce papers, filed on March 27, allege that Ann “committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen, who resides in Rumson, N.J., and Colts Neck, N.J., at various times and places too numerous to mention.”

A source close to the drama surrounding Ann and Bruce says that, “there have been rumors going around the area for more than a year that they had gotten way too close after meeting at a local gym.”

One of the most impressive things about Bruce Springsteen‘s Super Bowl Half Time show was that he pulled it off without hypnotizing the audience with his butt. It might be hard for young people to understand, but there was a time when Bruce Springsteen’s greatest weapon was not his conviction or his energy—it was his butt. Born In The USA has sold three times as many copies as any other Springsteen album, and you want to know why? It’s because he put his butt on the cover instead of his face. Anyone at his label who thought it was absurd tp put the Boss’s butt in front of the American flag clearly hadn’t seen Bruce Springsteen’s butt. That butt made you proud to be an American.
