Hundreds of Londoners donned nothing but shamrocks for a chance to win two free plane tickets aboard the appropriately named Aer Lingus. The participants gathered at London’s Jubilee Gardens, then marched down the River Thames, past landmarks like the London Eye. While the name of the airline combined with the nature of these photos may cook up dirty thoughts in our sex-rattled brains, the literal translation of Aer Lingus is “air fleet.” (Cue: remove mind from gutter.)
These hard economic times have driven numerous airlines to use sex to sell seats. Just last week, Southwest Airlines debuted a 737 with a Bar Rafaeli paint job. Two months ago, Spirit Airlines got heat for advertisements that touted their “DDs” (deep discounts) and “MILF” (many islands, low fares). The cabin crew of Ryanair created a 2009 bikini calendar. Aer Lingus gathered the free-spirited group by advertising the stunt on 999nudes.com to promote their new routes from Gatwick. The airline had hoped for a turnout of thousands, though only about 400 hopefuls stripped down. See more tuckus and tatas below.
