Black Is Back:Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week was only three days in, but it was already evident that all-black was an outfit trend at this Fashion Week. Solange Knowles, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, and Victoria Beckham had been photographed at Fashion Week events in either all-black dresses or black pants and tops. Designer Margi Kent weighed in on this trend. “Black is new for this generation. Especially during these economical times. It’s mature, it’s serious, its classic. It’s being done in a variety of ways. Sleek simple and classic and on the opposite end textures, multilayered, shiny and leather. Let’s all have fun with black,” Margi told us.
That's certainly what Rihanna did Saturday night! Keeping with the “black is the new black” theme, Rihanna showed up to the Hotel on Rivington’s House of Hype directors’ dinner on Saturday wearing black leather pants, a black top, and lacy black shades. Rihanna and her pals listened to tunes spun by DJ Manero while dining on delicacies from the Rivington’s Levant East of Thor restaurant, before heading upstairs to the Rivington’s famous three-level penthouse suite, where RiRi hung out with pals and was all smiles before departing at 1:50 am through an exit door.
