It’s official. A rep for the Oscar-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson told People that she’s marrying I Love New York 2 cast-away Punk. The couple, who have kept their relationship as quiet as possible, got engaged Friday night on Hudson’s 27th birthday. Hudson and Punk — i.e., David Otunga (guess he just outgrew his nickname) — have been together for less than a year.
In an interview with the VH1 Blog, David was open about falling in love with New York during last year’s show, and we can’t help see irony in the fact that he’s now marrying a woman that has Dreamgirls under her belt and a new movie (The Secret Life of Bees) opening next month while New York is hussling to land a semi-respectable Hollywood gig.
Last year, we saw Punk on reality TV squirting whip cream on his bare chest in an attempt to turn on VH1′s H.B.I.C. This year, we’ll see him on the red carpet at the Academy Awards.

Jenn, think of it before you do something like this..First of all what happened to your soul mate? You know the man that was there for you when you were nothing? Also, Punk(David) I really hope all your intentions are upstanding. We as women need to be more careful when we bring a man into our lives especially when we are successful. Sometimes we get blinded by the affection and attention. Jennifer you are looking great these days and you have prospered very much. My only hopes is that you allowed yourself to heal from your last relationship. And that you allowed yourself to grow and appreciate what you have and how far you have come since you have been single. Having a husband does not validate you as a woman. Remember that and keep god in your life and make sure he does too!
I think Tiffany Pollard is a joke anyway.
She is playing a role formoney not anything else.

OK..i didn’t watch the “I Love NY” shows, so i’ve never seen this guy before. However, i wish i knew J-Hud, if only to ask her one question: how well do you REALLY know this man ? Seriously..my gaydar has been going W00-W00-W00 ever since i looked at the picture of him. Girl, when it comes to choosing men, neither Star Jones or Terry McMillan are good examples to follow. Think about it.

I think that Jennifer should have married the guy on her video Spotlight. He was fine as HELL!!!!!!!! Also, David is fine as hell to but anyone who falls for a hoodrat like New York is hard to trust.
Ms. Hudson should not marry Punk for the fact that to me it’s going to be the same thing like with New York, she need to look at the fact of what is he doing for his self. Jennifer is a very beautiful woman, she shouldn’t settle for less, if he’s not doing nothing for his self, whats the use, he is a waste. He just got off a reality show, now he have met a beatiful, strong black, prominent woman, to me she could do better, she should take her time, and not settle for anything before she end up like brit and kefed.
