Affectionate photos of Wrestler stars Mickey Rourke and Evan Rachel Wood have fueled rumors of a romance between the on-screen father-daughter pair, especially after Wood split with boyfriend Marilyn Manson (some things are too creepy even for him). With everyone whispering that the pair got snoggy at the SAG Awards, Wood decided to tell Rolling Stone what’s really going on: nothing! Ew!
I’m upset because I feel disrespected by the press and by Mr. Rourke. Just because I’m single doesn’t mean that you can take advantage of me. It’s unfair that the performances might suffer because of all of these distractions. I’m not attracted to him, he’s too old for me. Nothing ever happened and nothing ever will.
We understand why she’s aggravated by us media vultures, but why does she call out “Mr. Rourke” as well? Does she blame his busy hands for the rumors, or does she think he’s been feeding the stories as well? With co-stars, rival actors and even professional wrestlers ticked off at Rourke, it’s almost starting to feel like old times.
