Have you seen the angel gracing the cover of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue? Victoria’s Secret Angel, that is! Our prayers have been answered and mega-hottie model Kate Upton has been tapped to appear on the cover of SI‘s prestigious bikini edition. It’s like the Oscars for the only people in the world who are even more attractive than Hollywood A-Listers!

Although she was named Rookie of the Year in last year’s issue, there was some question as to whether Kate would make the front page. Some feared that she was simply too young and hadn’t paid enough dues to receive the honor. But we guess the peeps at SI used their brains (and their eyes!), as Kate victoriously unveiled the new cover last night on the David Letterman Show.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover Model Kate Upton Wants To Be “On The Coffee Table”

Note to American parents, if you want your children to be competitive with in the world 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model Kate Upton may have a lesson for you. After being the magazine’s Rookie of the Year in 2011, the 19-year-old beat all those gorgeous foreigners to take the cover, which hits newsstands today. In her video profile on SI.com, as she poses seductively in the sand, she tells us in voice-over how she got there: “If I got the cover, I would be so excited. It’s always what I talked about. I grew up in an American family, it always was on the coffee table. And to be that girl on the magazine on the coffee table would be really groundbreaking for me.”

Um, so yeah, America. Leave copies of magazines featuring scantily clad ladies around the house, and your daughters will grow up to be supermodels who may or may not be dating New York Jets quarterbacks. (Thanks a lot, Mom and Dad, for leaving The New Yorker and National Geographic around our living room. Geez.)

Should Kate Upton Be The Next Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover Girl?

She was named Sports Illustrated’s Rookie of the Year in last year’s esteemed swimsuit issue, and now it looks like mega-hottie Kate Upton may be their MVP. Despite only being 19, the Victoria’s Secret Angel is reportedly leading the race to be this year’s SI swimsuit cover girl! The cover is to be unveiled this Monday on the David Letterman Show, but Kate isn’t spilling the beans just yet. “All I can really say is that I’m in the issue,” she told Page Six Magazine. “Fingers crossed!”

Other contenders for the honor include Chrissy Teigen, who is engaged to John Legend, and Adam Levine’s GF Anne V. “There’s no clear front-runner” an SI insider told Page Six. “There’s a lot of talk about Kate in general…It really comes down to the best picture wins.” Would you like to see Kate grace the cover of the mag? Maria Menounos Strips To Her Bikini In Times Square After Lost Super Bowl Bet

If you were rooting for the Patriots last night, you’re probably feeling pretty bummed out right about now. But here’s something to help cheer you up a little bit! And if you happened to be Team Giants, well then here’s yet another reason to celebrate. Extra host and Pats superfan Maria Menounos made a bet with fellow co-anchors Mario Lopez and AJ Calloway last week that the New Englanders would go on to win their fourth Super Bowl victory. If they didn’t, she would bare her bikini bod on air in frigid Times Square!

Sadly for her — but great for the rest of us — she lost the wager and ended up having to strip down to a tiny Giants-themed swimsuit as a crowd of fans looked on. Rihanna To Perform With Coldplay At The Grammy Awards, Tweets Celebratory Bikini Pictures

So we already know that LL Cool J is hosting the Grammys this year, but this latest bit of news has eclipsed even that announcement. Rihanna Tweets Bikini Photos, Strict Vacation Itinerary

Rihanna has a lot planned for the 11-month-long beach vacation she’s apparently taking, and she doesn’t mind getting up bright and early to get it all done. “Wake…Bake…#CAKE,” the “You Da One” singer proclaimed today alongside a photo of her booty in yet another monokini. RiRi later tweeted a frontal view of her metallic suit for a fan, adding, “just for u.” You know it’s a great day when Rihanna bikini photos are only the second most scandalous thing the singer posts in a a tweet. Let’s just keep this good thing going until Spring Break, shall we?
