Break-up Alert: Pia Toscano And Mark Ballas Split Up!

They’re done? Already? We first heard of these two getting together in April this year and they seemed to be doing just fine! But just as quickly as they hooked up, American Idol survivor Pia Toscano and Dancing With The Stars dreamboat Mark Ballas are now dunzo. A source told People that the now-off couple had a serious discussion about their relationship and decided that they had higher priorities than love. Careers, man — they tend to win at this stage, don’t they?

The source explained further saying, “They both decided with everything going on that they couldn’t give each other what would be fair. They mutually decided this.” Ah well, five months doesn’t amount to heartbreak normally, but splitting up still sucks. Plus, they were kinda cute together, weren’t they? Hopefully these two will be luckier in their respective careers than they were in love.

Watch Out For That Breeze, Haley Reinhart

Haley Reinhart, who placed third on American Idol, was in Time Square yesterday visiting the MTV Networks studios. She looked pretty adorable in a tank top and teeny skirt, but as anyone in New York knows, that breeze can be tricky. Something Haley should know too considering she lives around the Windy City!

Haley almost had a wardrobe malfunction while entering the building thanks to a gust of wind almost whipping up her skirt. Fortunately, it didn’t get as bad as it could have and as seen in the gallery below, it looks like Haley has a great sense of humor about it!

A.I Contestants Old And New, Celebrities, Watch As Scotty McCreery Wins American Idol

Scotty McCreery is the new American Idol! The teenaged country singer beat Lauren Alaina to win the the title which capped off a spectacular show. The two hour Season 10 finale took place at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and they really packed in as much as they could. Beyonce dazzled on stage, Jennifer Lopez sparkled in a very JLo-esque jumpsuit and old and new American Idol contestants turned up in hordes. Like Sanjaya Malakar — remember him? A lot of this seasons contestants got to sing with their idols like Tony Bennett, Tim McGraw, Tom Jones, Judas Priest …. and Lady Gaga! Jack Black rocking out? Classic!

But more than anything, we were just happy to see some of our contestants and winners of past American Idol’s. Adam Lambert who was so glam it hurt, Allison Iraheta, Jason Castro (with his preggers wife Mandy Mayhall), Kris Allen… the list goes on. We’ve put a gallery of arrivals at the event so you can memory check everyone who came. Congratulations, Scotty! Can you believe he’s just 17? What a massive moment for country music.

Poll: Who Was The Best Female Singer On American Idol?

It felt like the women of American Idol were on shakier ground than the men this week, judging from last night’s performances. There were far fewer ladies who are definite locks to advance to the next round, although it’s safe to say Pia Toscano gave the best performance of the night. Toscano received the first standing ovation of the season for her rendition of “I’ll Stand By You,” and as the night’s final performer, it was clear that the producers knew they had something amazing with her and saved the best for last.

Also impressive were the youngest competitors, Thia Megia, who we actually are pretty sure is 30 and not 15, and country girl Lauren Alaina. Beyond that, we have no idea who will make it. Let us know who your favorite female singer from last night was in our poll, and tell us in the comments who you think should go home. (We personally need Haley Reinhart and her throaty growl to take a hike. Are we wrong?)

Who Was The Best Performer On American Idol Last Night?

Last night marked American Idol‘s first live show of the season where America finally got to cast its vote. We loved a lot of the performances last night—it’s definitely apparent that this season is the strongest ever—and it’s going to be sad to see seven of these guys not make it through. Personally, we think Jacob Lusk (Luther Vandross 2.0), James Durbin (Adam Lambert 2.0), Scotty McCreery (Deepest Voice Ever) and Casey Abrams (Dorky Beardo) are definitely going to make it, while Jordan Dorsey, Brett Loewenstern and Tim Halperin might be in trouble.

As for the rest, Paul “Whitest Teeth We’ve Ever Seen” McDonald, Robbie “Looks Just Like Cartoon Aladdin” Rosen, Stefano “Wait, isn’t he Jovany?” Langone, Jovany “Wait, no, that’s not Stefano” Barreto, and Clint Jun Gamboa are all question marks in our book—good, for sure, but not the best. So tell us, what do you think? Who was your favorite singer of the night?

Jennifer Lopez Falls Apart During American Idol Eliminations

The American Idol Sob Story is a trademark of the show, and there’s always at least one contestant whose heartbreak and hardships are inspiring. This season, the Idol Sob Story belonged to Chris Medina, a singer whose fianceé, Juliana, was in a car accident that left her brain-damaged and under the constant care of her mother and Medina, who remains devoted to her. So when it came time for the judges to choose the final 24 contestants of the season and Medina wasn’t one of them, it was a little tough to see him go, especially for Jennifer Lopez, who cried as she delivered the news.

Lopez has been slowly winning us over with her gig at Idol this season. Overall, the show has become a kinder, more supportive environment thanks to Lopez and her fellow new judge Steven Tyler, but last night, Lopez showed some serious emotion and started bawling after telling Medina he was out. “It honestly breaks my heart to say this but you did not make it,” Lopez said before melting down into a Jenny From The Block sized puddle of tears, which made us melt a little too. While Medina bowed out gracefully, the episode took a bizarre turn as it ended on a “To Be Continued” note, with Lopez saying “I don’t want to do this anymore.” Usually the Idol cliffhangers are reserved for which contestants will leave the show, not whether or not a judge will leave. We do have to say that J. Lo’s breakdown does make her more human, but do you really think she’ll leave the show?

Jennifer Hudson’s Body: It’s Real And It’s Spectacular

American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson‘s new album art has been released, and Hudson looks fantastic on the cover photo. The singer and recent Weight Watchers spokeswoman has lost a lot of weight over the past couple years (she reportedly dropped 5 dress sizes) and looks like a goddess on the cover of I Remember Me. Apparently not everyone believes that it’s all her in the photo though, as Hudson Tweeted recently “I’m online reading comments about my album cover. Yes that’s my real size n yes my arms n hands are that long.” So let’s put that question to rest, okay people? The girl looks great and it’s all her. The album comes out on March 22.

Another American Idol alum who’s in the news for her transforming body is Fantasia. The Idol winner is in the process of gaining a whopping 45 pounds in order to play Mahalia Jackson in an upcoming film about the gospel singer. Filming begins in May. When asked about the weight gain, Fantasia’s manager joked that she wasn’t expecting a child, but that she is “pregnant with prosperity.” We should all have jobs that require us to eat tubs of ice cream for four months straight. Does this film need any chubby extras?

American Idol Alum Allison Iraheta Looks Totally Different These Days

During season eight of American Idol the only truly memorable contestant, let’s face it, was Adam Lambert. Despite the fact that Lambert didn’t win the season, he remains the most successful singer to come out of the show in 2009. While most of the other hopefuls that year have been forgotten, we will always have a soft spot in our heart for Allison Iraheta, the lone girl in the final four that season whose voice was way more mature than her seventeen years.

Cut to this week when we spotted some pics of Iraheta performing in Los Angeles and we almost didn’t recognize her. The girl has lost some weight since she was a contestant on the show (check out a pic from Season 8 here) and has a darker, less severe dye job, too. We’re loving her makeover and hope it helps her finally get the recognition she deserves. What do you think, Idol fans?

J. Lo And Marc Anthony Are Going To The White House Superbowl Party

Jennifer Lopez has been growing on us lately now that we see her (glowing, flawless) face on our TV while we watch American Idol this season. We have genuinely come to like her as a judge and somewhat regret our previous posts about how she is anything but Jenny From The Block. But let’s face it, as much as she claims she’s still keeping it real or whatever, the woman is going to President Obama’s White House Superbowl party this Sunday, something that the rest of us don’t have the privilege of doing.

Among the 100 or so invited guests who plan to eat The Presidential Sliders and 1600 Layer Dip (Get it? Because of the address? Anyone?) are J. Lo and Marc Anthony, as well as members of Obama’s staff like Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. Sounds like an eclectic bunch, but we’re pretty sure that by the end of the night there will be one thing they can all agree on: Go Daddy commercials are still mind-bogglingly bad, no matter what political party or sports team you’re loyal to.

Jennifer Lopez Descending A Staircase—In High Heels

Jennifer Lopez is not only an actor, singer, dancer, producer, reality TV judge, wife and mother—she also isn’t afraid to walk down a giant staircase in heels. Lopez showed off her skills at Radio City Music Hall yesterday, where she held a press conference to announce the latest development of a charity/ad campaign that we’re sure is terrific. Get a closer look at J. Lo’s leggy get-up in the gallery below.
